Refresh worn sliders with slide assembly parts that fit well, slide freely, and are easy to install. Mount the tracks on the gunwales with the slide facing up so the hinges work properly; installing inside and facing inward won't work. Endcaps keep sliders from falling out, and when everything's set up right you can open the bimini on the water.
Installation is generally simple with basic tools. Align the tracks on the gunwales and ensure the hinges face up so the poles hinge properly. Add the endcaps to keep sliders from coming out of the track. If the top shifts on the track, look for kits that include locks or plan on adding stops to help hold position.
Tracks typically need the hinges to face up, so mounting inside and facing inwards wouldn't work properly. Best results come from mounting on the gunwales with the hinges oriented correctly. A 90-degree hinge could possibly make an inside mount work, but the top would be narrower and maybe not provide the coverage you want. When properly installed, the top can be opened on the water.
Some slide assemblies do not include track locks, so the top can move along the track. Endcaps keep the sliders from falling out but there are no progressive locks in the track. Check if the kit lists track locks or stops if you want to minimize movement. Position the deck hinges and straps to help keep the top where you want it.
