Video Transcript for MaxxTow Wheel Chock with Handle Review

Randy: Hey, guys. It's Randy from etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at a wheel chock from MaxxTow. This is a solid rubber chock with a handle on it. All in all, you can see the nice, solid design of it. We've got ridges here on the bottom to help grip whatever surfaces that we have it on.

Then, we're going to have ridges here on the face of it to help grip the treads of the tire. That also helps to prevent any rotation. Nice handle on the back there. Its big enough you can get four fingers through it. At that point, you're just able to slide that right in where you need it, get it secured behind your tire. Now, all in all, the chock is going to be 6 3/4" long, 6" tall, and 4" wide.

Now, overall for your small, medium, and large trailers, before we get up to that semi size, I think this is going to be an excellent choice in a wheel chock. I like that rubber construction, makes it really durable. We're not going to have to worry about corrosion and things like that causing us issues. I like the handle on the back. With handles on wheel chocks, I don't know how ultimately useful they are.

But it does give you a nice spot to grab. You could also grab it right here. Definitely a big upgrade when we look at the plastic-type wheel chocks. Those tend to degrade pretty rapidly, where this one, I think it's going to give you years of good service. That's going to complete our look at the MaxxTow rubber wheel chock with handle..

Very well made and does a great job keeping my trailer from moving once unhooked. Another quality product from the fine folks at etrailer. Thank you, Paul G 744975

My first placement proved to be so much better than my old plastic chocks. These have so much more friction on the tire and floor. I expect them not to work loose when I chock my car in a closed trailer. Because of trailering my car sometimes over bumpy roads the plastic chocks always worked loose. I'll try to remember to give an updated review after using them on my trailered car. 745022

Wheel Chock is strong, and tough. I used them on our 26 ft cabin boats (total weight ~ 5,000 lb), and they hold up very well. 218191

I've had wheel chocks prior to these and these are by far the best I've ever used. I have to park my utility trailer on my driveway which has a grade and I am so confident when I merely tuck these under the wheels by hand and let the trailer push against them and stop cold and stay. Excellent product, excellent price. As always, etrailer is helpful and customercentric in every aspect. 109326

Hi Mike, were looking for some good chocks as well be parking our trailer 19ft travel trailer in our driveway that has a bit of a slope. I see your follow-up is pretty recent so I assume your rig still hasnt gone sliding yet? :

small yet compact and sturdy. Does not take up a bunch of room storing them. Quality, heavy rubber material should work good for my application 252666

These are great wheel stops. Very solid and heavy duty. I think these will last a lifetime. The handles on them are a nice feature. It has a strong, distinctive rubber smell which you will either love or hate. 268598

This is a great wheel chock. It is a lot more substantial than the cheaper, plastic versions. It feels solid when handling and does the job excellently. I have used the plastic ones before, but they are nowhere near as solid as this one. I had read some other reviews about these having a rubber smell. Well they are rubber and they did smell initially, but this goes away and it was not a problem for me. 241416

Works like a charm. I like them better than small little plastic wheel chocks. 480109

The ribbed bottom and weight keeps it in place. The smaller size is perfect for storing a pair in my trailer tool box with the straps and chains. 172172

These are even more heavy duty than I anticipated. They will more than handle (pun intended) stabilizing my 28 foot trailer. My lighter weight plastic chocks never made me feel comfortable, but these will certainly give me the peace of mind I needed. Great product, excellent communication and quick shipping is what keeps me coming back to etrailer. 740300

  • Trailer Suspension Lift Kit for 2017 Airstream Sport 22 Single Axle Travel Trailer
A bolt-on axle over-under kit like # K71-384-00 and # K71-385-00 will typically give your trailer between 4 and 5-inches of lift. The exact amount of lift depends on the axle diameter and the height of the leaf spring stack. Lift will be the sum of the axle diameter plus the height of the spring stack. Kit # K71-385-00 works for axles with 3-inch diameter Installing an axle over-under lift kit on a trailer is not a complex job but it does require the right safety equipment to avoid...

  • Recommended Heavy Duty Rubber Wheel Chock for 5th Wheel Trailer
It is best to use a set of wheel chocks either between the inside tires or in front and behind of the outside tires but I would definitely use more than one per side. That said, I recommend the Buyers Products Heavy Duty Wheel Chock part # 337WC0888 over the MaxxTow Wheel Chock part # MT70073 and MaxxTow Wheel Chock part # MT70072 because it is heavier (10 lbs) therefore less likely to slide and it has more contact with the tire both width wise and height wise when compared to the MaxxTow...

  • Recommended Trailer Dolly for Moving Pop-Up Camper Trailer into Garage
If you can't use your tow vehicle to move your pop-up camper into your garage then your best option is a trailer dolly like the MaxxTow # MT70225. This cost-effective dolly features pneumatic (inflatable) tires and a 1-7/8-inch hitch ball. It can handle a trailer with a weight as high as 600-lbs. You might want to have some wheel chocks like # MT70072, and a competent helper, for safety when moving the trailer especially if it will be moved on an incline.

  • Bottle Jack and Safety Stands for Use During Trailer Maintenance
A bottle jack like the Powerbuilt # ALL620471 is the right type of jack to use for changing and rotating tires and other trailer maintenance work. But using wood blocks will reduce the stability of the jack and affect the safety of that process. Any trailer work is best done with wheels chocked on both sides. We offer rubber wheel chock products like # MT70073 and # MT70072 to steady the trailer while you work on it. If you like the Powerbuilt jack for its size you can use it along...
