Hey Lori, we have really great air ride cushioned pin boxes like the Curt Flex Air part # LC328492 which is designed to replace the Lippert 1621 style pin box but I would need to verify what pin box you have on your camper currently to know which would be the correct replacement. What I do really like about the Flex Air is that it provides vertical and horizontal cushioning.

The Curt Crosswing hitch part # C86JR is a lightweight fifth wheel hitch that will have fewer moving parts than a slider hitch so it would give you less chucking for sure. If you aren't using the slider feature for additional turning clearance this would be a great way to reduce chucking as well as give you a much lighter weight hitch in general.

Lori: I recently purchased the Curt Flex Air 5th Wheel Pin Box from etrailer. I also purchased a BW Companion 5th Wheel Hitch. I called etrailer to find out the correct pin box for our 5th wheel. They were so helpful. The installation was straightforward, but you will need a way to lift the pin box, because it is heavy. We took the 5th wheel for its maiden voyage with the new hitch setup in April. I didn’t drive more than two miles before I realized that I had made a very wise choice. This pin box and hitch setup is AMAZING! Before, you could feel every bump that the 5th wheel hit. It was transferred straight to the pickup. My wife has back problems and it was killing her. We both felt like we could not feel anything coming from the camper. It was a wonderful ride and she was virtually pain free. I would recommend this pin box to anyone. Rest assured, if we ever decide to trade, or sell our camper, the old pin box will go back on it, because I will not part with my Curt Flex Air.
