Should Weigh Safe Leveling Kit with Wheel Chocks Sit Under All Four Tires

Published 02/21/2026

Question:

I'm considering these for my 31foot fifth wheel for leveling- do you use two of these on each side one on each tandem wheel ? Your video shows only using one, but that doesn't make sense if you are trying to level your trailer or does it? Also, the Andersen blocks are expensive is there a reason or are these just as good. The warranty on these is better versus 3 years on the Andersen, but I hear more about the Andersen levelers. Thanks!

Hey Phil! For a tandem axle trailer you will want two of the Leveling Kit with Wheel Chocks for Trailers and RVs # WS28ER. You are correct, one under each tire is best. I use these on my Jayco with one under each tire to keep them off the ground and help prevent flat spotting, they're great!

I think Andersen was the first on the market with these and the price really hasn't changed. Since they have been around longer you hear more about their model, the Weigh Safe is pretty new. There is no real difference aside from a slightly lower capacity (300 lbs less) and the difference in the design where the tire sits. Functionally they are the same thing.

What kind of 5th wheel do you have?

@PhilB that is correct, two sets of the # WS28ER for a total of four levelers. One under each tire. Then I fine tune with my level using the scissor jacks and blocks.
