This harness puts out solid power for your trailer’s lighting—3 amps per stop/turn circuit and 5 amps for the taillight circuit. That’s plenty to handle standard incandescent trailer lights, and it keeps everything running bright and steady every time you hit the brakes or turn signals.
Modern vehicles don’t always speak the same electrical language as trailers. The built-in converter on this Curt harness takes care of that, translating your car’s separate brake and turn signals into the combined signal your trailer expects. That means your running, brake, and turn lights all work together exactly as they should.
A solid ground makes all the difference in keeping lights from flickering or cutting out. This harness includes a dedicated white ground wire with a ring terminal so you can bolt it directly to clean metal on the body. Once tightened down, you’ve got a stable connection that holds up on rough roads and wet conditions.

My signal lights began giving me trouble and I had to disconnect the kit from the signal lights to make them work properly.

Thanks for getting back to me. The product was working great until last fall when my wife noticed my Kia Soul’s turn signal lights weren’t working with no trailer connected at the time. I didn’t have time to mess with it, so I just disconnected the trailer wiring controller box and reconnected the car lights direct. After that, the car’s turn signals were working properly. Just this weekend, I needed to use the trailer again so I reconnected the trailer light wiring and everything works again even with the trailer disconnected. My guess is that there was some moisture or loose wiring causing the issue in the fall. I intend to keep an eye on it and, if needed, I’ll switch to a product that is powered directly from the car battery.

Up, Ive had it installed over a year and have used it a dozen times or more. I have no complaints, it is sturdy and as long as you keep the receiver lubed up it wont rust.
