This hitch gives you real utility for light-duty towing jobs. With a Class I rating, it’s built to handle up to 2,000 lbs of gross trailer weight and 200 lbs of tongue weight. That’s plenty for small trailers, cargo baskets, or a couple of bikes on a rack. The 1-1/4" x 1-1/4" receiver opening works with standard Class I accessories, so you can tow or haul without pushing your setup too hard.
You don’t need special tools or welding to get this hitch onto your vehicle. It uses a bolt-on installation that lines up with existing mounting points and comes with all the hardware and instructions you need. The precision, robotic welding ensures all the holes line up right the first time, making it a smooth DIY job in the driveway or garage.
The gloss black powder coat finish over a protective base layer helps this hitch stand up to road grime, rain, and salt. It resists rust and keeps its finish looking clean after seasons of use. The sturdy square-tube design gives it a solid feel and tidy profile under the bumper — strong enough to tow yet subtle enough to stay out of sight.

Drawbar, pin, and clip are sold separately, so you can choose exactly what fits your needs while keeping within the hitch’s 200 lbs tongue weight limit.

According to Curt, it should take an experienced installer about 50-60 minutes to install the hitch. For a novice, I'd expect that time to be doubled.

I still have been using the hitch, with no issues, and have added a single place small trailer that hauls my 2017 WR450 YAMAHA, and tow that bike with confidence of this product. The hitch still looks new, bolts are all tight, and it made my KIA Soul versatile for light towing......couldnt be more satisfied!!

I do see that the hitch you purchased through us has 200 lbs Tongue weight and 2000 lbs Gross Tow Weight. How much weight are you carrying on this hitch? Unfortunately, there are no options for a Class II hitch for your 2017 Kia Soul. We do, however, carry a hitch that will fit your vehicle that has a Tongue Weight of 300 lbs, and a Gross Towing Weight of 2000 lbs part # 306-X7326.

My electric bike is roughly 70 lbs. the rack systems out there Thule and Hollywood specify a class 2 hitch because the rack itself is heavy combined with the e-bike. I should have researched it more ahead of time. I just didn’t know there were classes of hitches and the requirements.

I hadn’t bought one but was looking at the following: Hollywood Racks Sport Rider for Electric Bikes. Or Thule Thanks EasyFold XT These are the two recommended in the E-bike community.

I have looked into both of the racks you are interested in. It will depend solely on how heavy your ebikes are however, I would recommend the Easyfold of the two you are looking at. For the Easyfold [part # TH903202], it will hold up to 65 lbs per bike [two bikes max] and the carrier itself is only 45 lbs. This carrier is also rated for the Class I hitches, so you should have no complications with using this carrier, depending on how heavy your bikes are. While the Sport Rider [part # HLY74FR] is rated only for class II and up. It will hold up to 80 lbs per bike [two bikes max] and the carrier itself is 54 lbs. The biggest difference between classes of hitches, is the weight rating. So, depending on how heavy your ebikes are, will determine whether you are safe to use the Sport Rider for your application. The biggest concern would be going over that weight rating, if the weight rating is exceeded, then you risk the rack bending your hitch, or your bumper damaging.
