Video Transcript for What to Know About the Replacement OEM Wiring Harness for Ford F-150

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number C56110, this is your replacement OEM wiring harness. This product is going to fit certain years of the Ford F150 and the E series vehicles. It's going to supply your 4 way flat plug at the back of the vehicle. Now, this is designed to be an exact replacement for a damaged, or needing to replace OEM wiring harness. Here on the 4 way flat, it's going to come with the protective cap, that way you can protect your connection points when the connector is not being used. Just goes over that area there, and then comes over the connectors.

It's also going to come with your detailed instructions, it's going to come with your cable ties to secure any excess or lose wires that you may have, and it's going to come with self taping screw to make a good ground connection right here with the ring terminal, and white wire. Very easy installation, you do not have to worry about cutting or splicing any of your wires. All you have to do is locate the OEM trailer wiring harness connector on top of the spare tire support, it's usually located on the driver side, it favors the driver side. You're going to insert the new connector. The connector should match up perfectly, make sure it's fully inserted, it's going to lock and secure into place for a nice, tight, secure connection. Then you're going to need to make a good ground connection using an existing screw with the nut, or you can use the supplied self taping screw.

Place that right here through the ring terminal that's attached to our white wire, which is our ground wire. Once you have that connected you can then route the 4 way back to the rear of the vehicle, and then you can secure it in a convenient, out of the way location, near the hitch. Again, detailed instructions, these are going to have pictures that are going to help you through the installation process, very detailed. Once you have that done you can go ahead and use some of the cable ties to secure the wiring, keeping it up and out of the way. That's going to do it for today's look at part number C56110.

This harness for my Ford F-150 was a perfect fit. When I bought my truck it had a hitch but no light harness and everywhere local wanted $50+ dollars. This was an excellent price and so easy to install. Took me a few minutes. All you need is a power screw driver to screw the ground wire down and plug in the harness and that’s it. Definitely recommend this to anyone!

I can not be happier with the service and product. I received the Draw Tite Class III trailer hitch on time as expected. From start to finish and by myself, it took me exactly 15 minutes to install. I did not need to lower spare tire and it looks clean and neat on the truck. It took me longer to open the cardboard box. Thank you for your great service and follow up and I will highly recommend you in the future.

  • Wiring Harness For 2020 Ford F-150 Without Tow Package
Where to start with your wiring harness depends on what available connectors you have under the bumper of your 2020 Ford F-150 and also what trailer connector you're looking to add on your truck. If your truck already has the square shaped connector, #C56110 will add a 4-way connector for your trailer. If you have a square shaped connector on your truck and want to add a 7-way connector for your trailer, the # ETBC7 is what you need. If you instead have a round shaped connector on your...

If you already have the round wiring connector on your 2016 Ford F-150, then you simply need the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connectors # C55774. If you do not have the round connector and instead have the rectangular connector, then you will need the Replacement OEM Wiring Harness for Ford F-150 # C56110 to give you a 4-way and then add the 7-way wiring kit for brake controller # ETBC7 and connect the brake wire to the blue wire...

  • How to Add Second 4-Pole Trailer Connector to 2015 Ford F-150
If you want to add a separate 4-pole connector to your F-150 to power the lights in your tool box you can use part # 118384. This will simply plug in behind your existing trailer connector, going inline with it. Your existing 4-pole/7-way will remain active but you'll then have a second separate 4-pole for connection to the tool box lighting. If your tool box uses different wiring/connectors than a standard 4-pole, please let me know. You'll want to ensure the total load from all lights...

  • 4-Pole to 7-Way Wiring Conversion Kit for 2011 Ford F-150
If your 2011 F-150 has a pre-installed 4-pole harness (which probably has a rectangular connector on the truck side like the one on parts # C56110 and # HM11140735; see the linked photo, please) then you can convert that wiring to a 7-way using kit # ETBC7. This kit has all the parts needed to upgrade the 4-pole setup to a fully functioning 7-way. You will retain your current 4-pole and plug it in to the included 7-way adapter in the kit, then make a few more wiring connections for the...

  • How to Install a Brake Controller on a 2017 Ford F-150
Assuming you already have a trailer hitch like the Curt # C26HR and a 4-Way like the Curt # C56110 installed on your 2017 Ford F-150 you just need the Universal Wiring Kit # ETBC7 to use a brake controller. This kit includes an adapter that plugs into an existing 4-Way connector and provides you with both a 7-Way and a 4-Way connector making it easy to switch between towing applications. Everything needed to fully activate your 7-Way for the brakes and a charge line for the battery is...

  • How to Install 7-Way Trailer Connector on 2011 Ford F150
The parts necessary to provide a 7-way for your F150 would depend on how it was equipped when it left the factory. If your F-150 has the factory round plug located along the drivers side frame rail behind the back bumper, you would use part # 74682. The factory plug will have a dust cover that will need to be removed, and the 74682 would plug right it. If your F-150 does not have the round plug, but has a 4-pole connector, part # 37185 can be used. It would plug into the existing 4-pole,...

By the way, thanks for the picture. What you can do to verify that the plug is active is use a circuit tester like our part # PTW2993 and test the different pins you see for voltage when the brakes/blinkers/running lights are on. • How to Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector On a 2012 Ford F-150
I do have a way for you to install a 7-way trailer connector on your 2012 Ford F-150 but the plug in the photo you attached does not have all of the circuits needed for a 7-way trailer connector so there is not one that plugs directly into this. Instead, you would first need to install a 4-way trailer connector like the Replacement OEM Wiring Harness part # C56110 which does use that plug and then adapt this 4-way into a 7-way using the 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat Adapter part # ETBC7. I can help you convert your 4way to a 7way on your 2014 Ford F-150. Since your vehicle is equipped with a factory 4way plug you will first need the Curt harness # C56110. To get a 7way for your trailer needs I recommend an adapter like the # ETBC7.
