Wiring for trailer lights doesn’t have to mean cutting into factory wires. The Curt T-Connector plugs directly into the vehicle’s tail light harness and gives you a standard 4-flat trailer connector. No splicing or guessing which wire does what—just connect the plugs and it’s ready to go.
This harness includes a powered converter that draws power straight from the vehicle battery instead of the tail light circuits. That setup keeps the vehicle’s sensitive wiring safe from overloads or shorts. The included power wire runs up to the battery to handle the trailer light load without risking damage to the vehicle’s electrical system.
The best way to route the converter’s power lead is along an existing wiring path under the vehicle. Zip-tie it every couple of feet and keep it clear of hot or moving parts like the exhaust or suspension. On gravel roads, sliding a section of wire loom over it helps shield against rocks and debris for long-term protection.
Once installed, the 4-flat connector provides running lights, turn signals, and brake lights for your trailer. Make sure both the vehicle and trailer grounds are attached to clean bare metal for a solid connection—good grounding keeps all lights working properly without flicker or failure.
If you ever lose a signal at the trailer connector while inputs still test correctly at the converter box, it’s likely just a failed converter module. The modular design makes replacement straightforward—swap in a new box and the rest of the harness stays in place, keeping downtime to a minimum.

Installation was pretty straightforward. It was a little tricky getting the Toyota taillight connectors undone, but no real problems. The product has worked flawlessly.
My husband installed this for me. I know that the wire running to the battery is a pain, but I didn’t get any bad feedback from him. He is a gear head though so he knew what to do. I also know he watched the video first, so I recommend that as well. Very satisfied, especially since it would have cost me about $185 if I took it somewhere

Received my hitch and electrical wiring kit within 4 days of placing my order. I installed the hitch and wiring kit on my 2015 Toyota Venza in a couple of hours using the information and videos available from the website. Everything went together as advertised and I am very happy with the results.
Ordered and installed on my 2015 Toyota Venza AWD. Installation was greatly simplified using the instructional video provided by etrailer. There's almost no way to screw it up, thanks to the connectors that snap into the existing wiring harness. A bit of a hassle removing and reinstalling the interior trim parts, but even that wasn't too bad on the Toyota.
I installed the wiring unit on a 2014 Venza, the instructions were clear enough but the video was excellent and a must to view before installation. It took me approximately 2 1/2 hours to install, the longest part was snaking the wire under the vehicle since I didn't have ramps to raise the undercarriage. I like the fact that you are not using the car's wiring to power the extra lights. Being 71 the physical labor was no problem.
Able to install this hitch by myself. Video did not show double exhaust and the total of 6 hangers involved, but pretty much everything else was as shown. Did not enjoy stringing the C56079 4-pin converter wire from the trunk to the battery up front under the hood; lots of crawling under the car with only the little bit of room provided by some stationary floor stands. But that too went as demonstrated and seems to work just fine. Got a great price and inmediate free delivery. Well done, guys.
Install of both trailer hitch and wiring harness went very smoothly. Total install time for both items to me 1 hour 47 minutes and that included watching etrailer’s online video. The most time consuming part of the install was routing the 12 volt power wire from the spare tire compartment to the battery. Everything was well designed for a do it yourself person at home.
Wanted to be safe driving on I-95 so with bike on carrier the brake-turn signal lights were partially blocked. Fishing the wire from the trunk to the battery was a little tough on a creeper but it worked out. Everyone says how visible the lights are, so we feel safer.
I found myself in a place where the need for a pick-up or a trailer was in order, since i really like my 2013 Toyota venza i chose the later, after shopping on line i thought this looked to meet my needs i have the ability to tow 3500lbs with 500lb tongue weight, so the package showed up in 2 days and i was able to do the install in about 40 minutes , it was as easy as they said it would be, i did need help from my son with balancing the thing, but everything lined up perfectly, the electrical was another story, since you need to basically disassemble the entire rear interior of the vehicle to connect the wiring harness,(ford looks super simple)but the connections worked perfectly and the straps provided were plenty, and the whole thing after it was done looks high and tight, i like it.
It worked. (I've only used it once.)
It was easy to install and (if I remember correctly since it was a year ago) the directions were clear and I had no issues.
I had a trailer hitch for a platform attachment but no electrical connection. My daughter needed a few pieces of furniture picked up at various locations. I needed to rent a trailer and needed the light hook up so that is why I bought it.

The hitch is working great, the wiring is also working out very well.
Trailer wiring it's a done in less than two hours without lifting the car. ( I have a couple phone calls on the time ) I'm so happy with video on YouTube and make me so easy to install the wiring.
I did not install the hitch yet but I think that's going to be more easier.

Asked a neighbor for help and had the new hitch installed in less than 5 minutes. Too easy, outstanding fit, great look and fits my needs.
Wiring harness took about 1 hour and spent most of the time finding the right holes to fish the wiring harness through.
A good buy for a fair price.

Delivery was quick even with it being just before Christmas, I had expected it to arrive after the Christmas break. I'll get to do the installation over the next couple of days, thanks for the speedy response. I had an old unit off my Lexus but found it had six pin connections at the splitter points near the lights so had to revert to ordering this four pin version. The old one was an easy install so I'm sure this one will go the same way, the Curt product are very good quality and fit as per their on line videos.

Great, no trouble on the install or since while using it.
I used the etrailer online video to walk me through the installation of the above wiring harness on my 2011 Venza. The whole process was relatively staightforward since the video was specific to my vehicle and the instructor explained everything in minute detail. The local Toyota dealership wanted $150 to do this install, and I was able to zip tie the power wire under the chassis to reach the battery terminal without lifting the car. Mission accompished!

I like the fact that the trailer connection is stored inside the car by the spare tire. I see other connectors dangling loose outside of the car a lot.
Excellent purchase experience. Website is great. The installation videos were excellent and accurate. I did the hitch installation alone with the car on jackstands. Took about an hour. Everything fit perfectly. Great not to have to adjust anything. The wiring kit took about two hours to complete. About an hour to get everything in the back and about an hour to install the wire to the battery. Was able to put the car on a lift for the battery wire. That would not have easy on stands. Haven't towed with it yet, but expect that everything will work as it should.

I am pleased with the hitch and wiring harness. I recently used them to tow a U-haul trailer loaded with a motorcycle from Colorado to Arkansas. Both products worked flawlessly.
Installed without any problems. Video installation was a great help.
Easy to install. Kit was complete. I drilled through my frame and hid the wire under my car.
My sixth hitch from etrailer. Just like all the others, it arrived on-time and in good shape.
Great directions for wiring and a great hitch as well. Have hauled over a ton in my trailer with a Toyota sedan.
The Curt T-Connector wiring harness arrived quickly and fit exactly as it should.
