Question:
Hello, I need some input. I have a Curt WD w/Sway Control unit 17302 but am missing the chain lift brackets. I used this unit with my Excursion. I know have a F450 with 2-1/2 receiver in addition to the Excursion. I also have a 26 25K GVW bumper pull. I will continue to the use the Excursion for a smaller bumper but also may use for the 26 with lighter loads. My questions, Can the chain lifts for the BXW2000 be used with the Curt I have? Wrather not have to buy a set if possible and use those come with the BXW2000. Can a 2 shank be used with BXW2000? Even though my trailer is 25k I would not be using to that weight, but may need to use the BXW2000 with the Excursion 2 receiver. I am trying to minimize my costs and be able to use the Curt I have as well as the Blue Ox BXW2000 on the Excursion 2 receiver, where as the F450 2-1/2 receiver would only use the BXW2000.

Hey Chris, there is a chance that the chain hangers for the Blue Ox Sway Pro WD system part # BXW2000 could work with your Curt system but since they two have never been tested together its really hard to say for sure and I am sure it would void warranties so it would be something I would have to recommend against.
Yes a 2 inch shank can be used with the # BXW2000, The shank that came with your # 17302 would work with this.
Now one thing I do need to point out is that if you use an over rated WD system with a lighter trailer the ride quality is going to be pretty rough.

Ahhh. I didn't know that using an overrated WD system would cause a harsh ride. Good information to know. Actually wouldnt be using the Blue Ox with the Excursion and 26' trailer much at all. Maybe what I will do is buy the BXW2000 unit, being I feel ill need a solution for the new larger bumper pull. I'll see if I can use the chain lifts on the Curt. If so, great, if not no harm or foul and will order. No clue where they went. Ive had the Curt for a number of years so an sure there is no warranty issues. Very much appreciated.
