Question:

Can you tell me if the Curt C17500 system allows backing up of trailer? Many WD/Sway systems do not allow you to back up with system engaged but others do. Also, can I use with a 2inch ball?

You can back up with the Curt Weight Distribution system part # C17500 that you referenced as long as you are backing mainly in a straight line.

Some systems are more strict on this than others, but basically you don't want to end up in a jack knife situation with a WD system installed as it will bind up the bars so bad that something can break or the bars will fall out.

For a similar system that does not come with a hitch ball so that you can install and use a 2 inch ball like part # A-90 you would want the part # 17302.
