Features to know about

Smooth Out the Ride and Stay in Control: 13,000 lbs GTW, 1,300 lbs TW Capacity

When you’re towing a heavy trailer, you want it to stay level and stable the whole way. The Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control spreads your trailer’s tongue weight evenly across all axles, bringing your rig back into balance. Rated for 13,000 lbs gross towing weight and 1,000–1,300 lbs of tongue weight, it helps you tow at the full capacity of your hitch without the rear sag or front-end lift that makes steering harder. The included 2-5/16" hitch ball and 7-hole shank with up to 2" drop or 8" rise make setup easy for different trailer heights.

Keeps Your Trailer Centered Behind You: Built-In Positive Caster Angle

Crosswinds, uneven pavement, or passing trucks can nudge a trailer off track—but the TrackPro’s head design helps it correct itself before sway even starts. A positive caster angle built right into the hitch head works with the tapered spring bars to keep your trailer centered in line. It’s the same principle that lets your steering wheel return to center after a turn. The pre-set pitch also means you don’t have to mess with washers or fine-tuning knobs during setup, so installation is quicker and cleaner.

Fights Sway the Old-Fashioned Way: Steel-on-Steel Friction at the Brackets

If the wind does kick up, the TrackPro’s rigid frame-mounted brackets and steel-on-steel friction take over to fight sway. The L-brackets and trunnion bars create resistance that forces your trailer back in line—no separate sway control parts to disconnect or adjust. You might hear some creaking or grinding when the bars move, but that’s just the friction working to keep your trailer steady on rough roads or in gusty weather.

Straightforward Setup and Maintenance: Adjustable, Lubricated, and Ready to Tow

The no-drill, clamp-on brackets can be moved along frames up to 6" tall, leaving room for gas tanks or toolboxes. Grease zerks on the back of each trunnion make it simple to keep the moving parts lubricated. The included lift lever, pin and clip, shank, and spring bars round out a complete kit that’s ready to install. With durable powder-coated steel construction and a limited lifetime warranty, the Blue Ox TrackPro is made for years of smooth, confident towing.

I just received these so no review on them yet but I am reviewing etrailer and customer service at this time. I ordered these in time for my move but their computer calculated the wrong tax (not me !). I owed $5.00 but they they call me -NO. So they cancelled the order and didn’t notify me. I looked up order to check tracking and found out cancelled. I called manager said was computer glitch the day I ordered. So I had to reorder. I was GUARANTEED by a manager they would expedite and guarantee 3 day delivery. Did they arrive as promised NO. They arrived a day late after I had left.

Best. Hitch. Ever.

by:

My hitch weight stated by the manufature was 595#, When the dealer weight the tongue it was 800#. I called Alex up and he did not me feel bad, just offered a solution. Shipped out a replacement and I got it quickly. Excellent service.

by:

by:

Track Pro Distribution 13K Lb hitch: Delivered within 2 days- box was intact and everything was there. Easy to install with instructions (and a couple of online videos). Used it on a new 36' travel trailer that I was picking up from the dealer so I'm not sure how my 99 GMC 1500 would have performed without it. Reports of 20-30 mph winds that day and I had no issues sway and it kept the trailer completely level.

by:

Because I wanted to use the hitch on an equipment trailer I was concerned about clearance at the wide front a-frame of the trailer. I called and spoke with a lady about the issue and she said send me some pictures. Because I use an old flip phone she said send it to my personal number. Wow! I did so and you folks confirmed that it would clear and I ordered it. The package came apart in shipment and lost some bolts, but your rep ordered them for me. The only clearance issue after install was my safety chain location. I can remedy that with minor alterations. Very pleased with the item and service. I can send a photo but it would have to go to the lady's personal number. Thanks, Reid

by:

Pulled to Dallas from Jackson, MS and back and they performed as advertised - sway was cut way dawn. When it did occur it was self correcting.

by:

It was installed professionally by camping world. Coating is all coming off. Arms pop out during travel. The square pins fall though slots. The angled brackets that mount to camper chassis are failing. Its the worst hitch I have ever owned. Literally.

Oh my goodness! Typically I would recommend touching up the hitch with a rust resistant paint as over time the powder coating will become marred. However since it has not been that long I will have the manufacturer reach out to you.

  • Can The L-Brackets On Blue Ox TrackPro Be Installed On Top 2 Mounting Holes?
Per the instructions(linked below) for the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution # BLU27FR you should have at least one open hole on your L-Brackets # BLU42QR. It sounds like your hitch head may be pitched to far down or you have an underslung coupler. If you have an underslung coupler you will need the Long L-Brackets # BLU52QR. Feel free to send any images of your installation and I can verify what you may need.

  • Can Husky Weight Distribution Arms be Upgraded for Larger Trailer
Hey Cappy, thanks for reaching out! We used to carry the Husky brand of WD hitches, but it's been a bit since we have so you'll need to reach out to them about the compatibility here - https://www.huskytow.com/contactus I tried looking up the model number you gave me on their site, but I wasn't able to locate anything which is why I'm pointing you in their direction. With that being said, if you aren't able to simply upgrade the bars on your current system, then I recommend picking up...

  • What Other Benefits Does a Weight Distribution System Have Besides Helping With Sag?
Hello Mark, By using a weight distribution system it isn't all about the squat of the towed vehicle, there are other benefits of using it as well. When using any of the Blue Ox Weight Distribution it evenly distributes the weight of the trailer, by doing so it improves your ride quality while towing by eliminating sway especially in windy conditions or when passing larger vehicles, this in return will help with overall wear and tear that towing can do to the F-150 and to the Airstream...

  • What Weight Distribution Hitch do I Need for My Travel Trailer That Weighs 7,000 Pounds?
Hello Brandon, Congrats on the new camper! When picking out the right weight distribution hitch it is most important to be as close to the tongue weight as possible. You said that your tongue weight is around 700 pounds, I am not sure if you are going by the 10% or used a scale. The tongue weight is typically 10-15% of the trailer weight, that would put you between 700-1,050 pound tongue weight. You could always use something like the Big Truck Big RV Tongue Weight Scale w/ Storage Bag...

  • Does An Air Bag Kit Eliminate The Need For A Weight Distribution Hitch
Hello Mike, thanks for reaching out. An air bag system can help to resolve some of the same issued a WD hitch would. Air bags level your ride which helps with stability, sway, handling and braking. The WD hitch helps to level the camper and actively prevent sway. So depending on your setup, the air bags might be all you need, but if the sway is severe, a WDH would also be beneficial. Here is what I recommend for your 2024 Ram 2500 4WD: - Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs -...

  • Comparing Blue Ox SwayPro and Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution Systems for 10K Trailer
The Blue Ox SwayPro and Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution Systems are both great options. The better of the two is the SwayPro as this is their flagship system. This system doesn't use friction as much like the TrackPro so it will be less noisy and wet environments with moisture in the air won't affect it like it would the TrackPro. The correct SwayPro model for a 10K trailer is part # BXW1500 and the correct TrackPro model for a 10K trailer is part # BLU27FR.

  • What is the Maximum Drop on the Blue Ox 7 Hole Shank
I spoke to Blue Ox and the TrackPro Weight Distribution System # BLU27FR offers a maximum 2 inches of drop or 8 inches of rise if needed. That is going from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform. This is standard for their 7 hole shanks that come with this part. If more drop is needed, however, we do have a couple other options available for the shanks. The Blue Ox Shank # BXW4002 will give you 4 1/2 inches of drop and 10 1/2 inches of rise. • Recommended Weight Distribution System for a 8,500 lbs Trailer
Tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight depending on what you have loaded in the back and on the tongue. With this in mind I recommend using a different system like the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU27FR. I'm not sure which Blue Ox TrackPro weight distribution hitch they gave you but based on the bouncing there is a good chance the system is rated too high for your tongue weight. It could also be that it isn't rated high enough so it is completely ineffective. Tongue weight is typically 10-15% of your loaded trailer weight and with a dry weight of 8,500 lbs you're already looking at 850-1,275 lbs of tongue weight. Based on that you're already pushing the limits of the highest rated TrackPro...

I would be happy to help! Since your tow vehicle is a 2021 Ram 1500 Crew Cab with the 5.7L Hemi I recommend going with an even stiffer weight distribution hitch than the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 7-Hole Shank - 13K GTW, 1.3K TW # BLU27FR you were looking at. That is the fact that without serious upgrades to your engine and body, you cannot exceed the towing capacity of your hitch.
