Question:

I have a Grand Design Imagine 2910. Loaded I’m 8500lbs with a 850-900lb tongue weight. At first it looks like the BXW1000 is perfect, but the Blue Ox site has a chart that confuses things. My tongue weight falls under the BXW1000, but the RV GVWR falls under the BXW1500. Tow vehicle is a new model F250. Which would you recommend?

Tongue weight is typically between 10% and 15% of your trailer's total weight depending on what you have loaded in the back and on the tongue. This would give your 8,500 lbs trailer a tongue weight range of 850 lbs to 1,275 lbs. With this in mind I recommend using a different system like the Blue Ox TrackPro Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control item # BLU27FR. This system has a tongue weight range of 1,000 lbs to 1,300 lbs which would be perfect for your Grand Design.

If you are set on using a Blue Ox SwayPro system you will want to go with item # BXW1006. If your tongue weight is 850 lbs to 900 lbs this will work and be effective. The item # BXW1500 would be way over capacity for your trailer and would lead to a stiff rigid ride.
