Firestone Ride-Rite Air Spring Basics
Firestone Ride-Rite springs are designed to increase safety and reduce the strain on your vehicle when you are hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer. The springs partner with your existing rear suspension system to help keep your vehicle level, maintain even load distribution and increase stability. Hauling heavy loads or towing a heavy trailer can make the rear of your vehicle sag and the front end rise. This puts more strain on your rear axle and reduces contact between your front tires and the road, causing problems with braking, steering control and traction. By adding air springs to your rear suspension, you can help to level your vehicle and improve braking and handling. The air springs also help to level your headlight beams and reduce wear on your tires.
Adjustable Air Pressure
The air pressure in your Ride-Rite springs can be adjusted manually, side to side, to compensate for off-center loads. A centered load improves the stability of your vehicle by reducing body roll. The air springs will also help to absorb road shock and to soften contact between your axle and frame. This prevents bottoming out, thus improving ride comfort. Route the air line tubing for the springs to your vehicle's bumper to provide easy access to the manual inflation valves.
Air Spring Construction
Firestone's double-convoluted Ride-Rite air springs are designed to give you maximum load support and enhance the performance and ride comfort of your vehicle. The rubber springs provide cushioning between your suspension components and operate at up to 100 psi. The springs have four layers of reinforced rubber to ensure durability and enhance load support. A braided wire girdle creates the double-convoluted shape of each air spring, increasing the burst pressure of the spring. The rubber springs are attached to corrosion-resistant metal end plates with a time-proven, rolled crimp seal that keeps the bags securely anchored.
Air Spring Installation
Each Ride-Rite kit includes custom-fit brackets that connect to your axle and frame. The brackets provide the mounting points for the air springs. Drilling may be required for some applications.

First, I would like to thank Terri N who took my order via phone. She made the order process fast and easy. My F1restone ride-right air ride F2299 shipped within an hour after I placed my order. Installation was relatively easy and the directions were easy to follow. The only thing was the torque spec were near the rear of the installation guide which I found after the install. I followed the steps starting at step 1 and contunued to the the last step of the install. I just think the torque specs should have appeared within the steps rather then at the rear of the guide. Otherwise it it is a great product and easy to install. 5 stars all the way around.

Great product, easy to install with little or no maintenance. We have a large 3 horse trailer and a 3/4 ton pickup. The trailer was a little to much for the standard trucks suspension. The air springs with about 60 psi of air pressure make everything right.
We had a small leak after a few months and I called Firestone, they identified the appropriate fix and shipped all required parts within a couple of days, NO charge! A great product and good service, how can you beat that combination?
We had called around and checked the websites before we purchased. The etrailer rep took the time to make sure we had the right product for our application (most of their competitors just ship what you order based whatever information you can find). We got the product when they said we would, it was the correct product, the shipment was complete at the price quoted. Check their prices as they had the best price we saw for this product, their rep was very friendly and helpful!

Great product and easy to install. etrailer always provides excellent service with quick shipping. This Firestone kit was put on 2012 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel mega cab. Everything comes in the kit you need and offers clear instructions to install. One side note is to make sure you dry fit the airbag in the brackets so that the final install goes easier for you. This product allows easy load leveling when trailering or hauling heavy loads and also works with bolt in gooseneck hitches.

Product arrived on time and perfect condition. Take about 3 hours to install. Have taken is out with 5th wheel yet. Raised that back 4 inches at 70 #. Only want 2 inches so try them at 30# and see now it rides is with 5th wheel.

Installation was straight forward. Everything needed was included. When the bags have air they work, but keeping air in them is impossible with the air line fittings included. I'm replacing each of the 4 fittings with compression ferrel types. They went a little too cheap on the fittings.

2005 Dodge Ram Pickup
I put these on my 2005 Dodge ram 2500 diesel.With this unit, I had to do a little modification on the drivers side lower bracket, brake lines were not moveable. Other than that, it fits and works perfectly.

2003 Dodge Ram Pickup
The etrailer team earns 5 stars again! The product is worth 5 stars (so far, just installed it so time will tell.) The install was easy and product seamed very sturdy. However, the 2003 Ram V10 install procedure should be the same as the diesel procedures. The instructions say "gas this way, diesel this way." The V10 leaf spring U-Bolt is the same width as the diesel. When I went to install it with gas instructions, V10 is a gas, the product was too small and the diesel way fit perfectly. So, just FYI. (The V10 was a direct drop in for the diesel by the way, so it gets same engine mounts and all other diesel body specs.)

Already have hauled some heavy loads with the truck. Stayed nice and level. No people flashing their high beams at me. Installed in less than two hours. Fairly simple to install. Took some extra time to route the airlines the way I like them to be. I recommend a dry build off the truck prior to tightening anything down. Orientation of the airbags is critical so don’t tighten the bottom bolt going into the base of the airbags until you are certain of airbags orientation. You may not be able to tighten once installed due to brake lines or other hardware depending on model truck. I have a 2500 Ram diesel 4x4. This is in the instructions but my orientation was off just a hair on driver side so I had to remove and get it perfect. Just a minor problem which I solved in 5 minutes. Leak and OPs check good to go.

I purchased this kit for my 2012 Ram 2500. This is my first kit. I bought it because I have a 8.5 x 24 enclosed trailer and any help With supporting the load the better. Not a quick install and really need a lift to get the job done. Good kit, but also would have preferred an included "Y" air hose connector. Haven't used yet towing our camper, but feel pretty confident it'll be worth the money to "steer" again.

Holds the rear end up perfectly with my varying loads, from a heavy cabover camper with a bass boat in tow, to a dump trailer, a car trailer, or my 28' travel trailer with the bed loaded with camping gear. Even with the cabover and towing I've never needed to air up more than about 30-40psi. I think the max is 100 or thereabouts.

2005 Dodge Ram Pickup
I have purchased several items from etrailer and always impressed with their accuracy and speed of delivery. They have high shipping costs to Alaska so have not been able to use them except when in the lower 48.
Installed on a 1-ton Dodge dually used to either carry a 4600 lb truck camper, pull a 11000 pound fifth wheel or tow a 10000 trailer. The truck camper really sat the truck on the axle and the recently installed Timbrens made matters even worse. When I hit a dip or bump it sounded like there were no springs what so ever. Installed the air springs and now I get a much improved ride and have not bottomed out to date. I installed the air springs in Oregon and drove to Homer Alaska over some pretty rough roads. Great ride!!!

I still have the highest opinion of the air shocks! Been many miles and always loaded. Not one time have I had to add air and perform the same as they did when I first put them on. These shocks really tamed the load. Would not own a large truck camper without them.

2010 Dodge Ram Pickup
This was a fantastic addition to my 2010 Dodge Ram 3500 Mega Cab 4x4. It has allowed me to raise/lower my truck while hauling, increased my bed load and pin weight while pulling 5th wheel and gooseneck trailer, and has eliminated sway while pulling a trailer with my weight distribution hitch. This has overall increased my drive stability and safe hauling capacity. Was a much a better buy and better decision in my mind then adding extra "helper" leaf springs which would have changed my ride permanently and would not have given me the flexibility to change back to a regular setup when not hauling or towing. With these you can go as low as 10lbs or as much as 100lbs of psi, thus giving you a lot more of different options than a fixed helper-leaf spring would....without the stiffer ride when not hauling or towing anything.

Install was about an hour. 15 minutes putting stuff together on the bench and 30 min under truck installing. Another 15 min to tidy up afterwards. Installed on a 2009 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 megacab.
I pull a jeep and all my stuff usually but finally bought a truck camper. It and all my stuff was lowering my bed 3-4" at the hitch. I've already got a 2" leveling kit so the load really made it look heavy but I am loaded to within legal tolerances. The air raised it right up to level. Really rides nice and my headlights aren't pointed to the sky.

2014 Dodge Ram Pickup
On time shipment in perfect condition as expected with etrailer. The unit installed in 1.5 hours with very basic hand tools. If you have a lift you could do it in under an hour by cutting down on the time crawling in and out from under the truck. I have experimented with it and it works great, needs 65psi to bring my 2011 Ram 2500 Diesel with my 14,000lb 5th wheel hooked up back up to the same fender height as when unloaded. If you watch the etrailer installation video you will only need to briefly reference the instructions during your installation. Hope it lasts for many years!!

This kit is not a fit for the 2015 Ram 2500 4x4. Instead you would use kit # F2598 for the 2015. The springs themselves and most of the other components are different for each truck. If the 2006 Ram also had a Level Command kit with the onboard compressor and its components they you could use it on the 2015, but the 2015 does require a different Ride Rite kit.
