Get the Best of Both Springs

The air springs and jounce springs in this system work together to give you the best ride whether your truck is loaded or unloaded. Air Lift's LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have internal urethane foam jounces that protect the air springs and provide added ride comfort when your air pressure is low. The jounces also allow you to temporarily carry a load if the air springs lose air pressure. This gives your 1/2-ton, 3/4-ton, or 1-ton pickup, motor home, or commercial truck air springs that are easier to maintain.

Air Springs Level Your Load

Carrying heavy cargo in your truck bed or trailer puts extra stress on your truck. Your brakes erode faster, your tires wear unevenly, and handling suffers severely. When towing, you might also experience excessive sway, bottoming out, and even inaccurate and unsafe headlight aim.

By pairing your existing suspension with LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs, you can seriously beef up your suspension, ensure equal load distribution, and get the support you need. The springs provide up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity (depending on the weight-carrying capacity of your vehicle) and distribute the weight of your payload to all 4 wheels. As a result, the stress on your factory suspension is significantly reduced. LoadLifter's air bags are adjustable from 5 to 100 psi for precise support, and they can be inflated equally for front-to-back leveling or independently of one another for side-to-side leveling.

The air springs are made of high-quality, 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber. Most air bags lose air at the ends where the bag is enclosed with steel caps. These caps can rust and corrode over time, creating small holes. But the endcaps on Air Lift air bags are fashioned from corrosion-proof Zytel nylon, a material that is both stronger and lighter than steel, ensuring that the air bags won't lose air.

Roll plates on Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring

The air bags also have Air Lift's exclusive roll plates, which protect the air springs and beef up their load capacity. These sturdy plates help guard the springs from moving parts under your vehicle that might puncture the air bags. The plates also provide a larger surface area for each spring to roll on. The extra surface area gives you a higher spring rate at a lower air pressure, resulting in a better ride.

Built-In Jounce Springs Add Control and Comfort

Air Lift 5000 Ultimate air spring with jounce spring inside

The closed-cell urethane jounce spring inside each air spring gives you a more stable, comfortable ride. Each jounce acts as an overload spring and engages when your current air pressure level isn't enough to support your load. So on a rough road, the springs will kick in if needed to absorb bumps and shocks and help you to avoid bottoming out. When the jounces support a load, they adjust progressively - the more weight you pile on, the stiffer they become. The urethane material engages more smoothly than rubber jounces so you get a less jerky ride.

Because these jounces are taller than your factory jounce bumpers, they engage sooner than your factory jounces would to provide better support. And if the LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs have insufficient or zero air pressure, the internal jounces will help to temporarily support your suspension and protect it from damage until you can repair or adjust the air spring system.

Easy Installation

This system installs with the included brackets and hardware. Just mount the springs, inflate them, and ride. To inflate the LoadLifter springs, you just have to pump in air through the inflation valves. A line kit is included with the springs so that you can install the manual inflation valves (one for each spring). These are typically mounted on the bumper but can be installed anywhere that is easily accessible. If you want to make the springs even easier to use, you can get a compressor and gauge system (sold separately) that allows you to monitor and adjust the springs from the cab of your truck.

Lifetime Warranty

Along with a lifetime warranty that has no mileage restrictions, Air Lift offers a 60-day satisfaction guarantee. Just install and use LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate springs for 60 days, and if you are not satisfied at the end of this time, you can remove and return them for a full refund.

I installed the air bags and everything fit as advertised. Works excellent and would recommend to anyone who is pulling or hauling heavy loads. The only issue I had was some of the small parts for the air valves were missing. Not a big deal as I have a maintenance shop had extra fasteners to finish installation. Very good product

2019 Ford F-150

I installed the 88385 kit on my 2019 F-150. In addition, I installed the 7400EZ air compressor which I purchased from a separate source. I installed the air bags to improve the towing performance of my truck. In addition to improving my towing performance, & completely unexpected, was that the air bags smoothed out my ride as well. I do have one comment on the installation instructions. They specify that the top mount be installed first while attaching the bags to the bottom mount & checking the alignment. While this step needs to be completed, I was unable to get the top screws into the bags after spending a great deal of time attempting. I finally removed the entire assembly & assembled every thing off of the vehicle & then reinstalled. I did the alignment on the bottom & top plate per the instructions. I lovely placed the screws in the top plate off of the vehicle & did the final alignment & tightening with both plates secured in place. For my installation this was possible by making certain the axle was fully dropped to put the assembled bags in place. I reattached the top plate by allowing the axle to move back up towards the frame. For those that are installing the 7400EZ compressor kit, follow the instructions & do not attach the compressor & modulator grounds to the chassis. If you make the mistake of doing this, the compressor will remain on & not shut off. I love dealing with etrailer!

2016 Ford F-150

So far so good. They have been on now for less than 24 hours. The install took more time than anticipated as the confines of my work area restricted movement, while my jack stands were too short to fully keep the rear of the truck elevated enough to allow the axle to hang. Past those self induced problems the install was straight forward except getting the correct torque on some of the bolts were impossible because of their final position, and the air hose was not equipped with a protected heat sleeve. I routed the passenger side air hose as far from the exhaust as possible; fingers crossed. It holds air and lifts, so it's doing its job; that's good enough.

2015 FORD f-150 Crew Cab. Exactly what I wanted. Works great. One note: The kit recommends a minimum of 5 lbs of air at all times even when the bags arn't needed which unfortunatly lifts the rear of the truck of about an inch. Not a big deal but worth mentioning.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

They were easy for any handy guy to install . It took about 2 hrs. They lifted my 2500 ram to sit level with my 37ft. 5th wheel. I even leave them as is, when I'm not hooked up, and don't notice a difference. I ran two separate lines to near my rear license plate, no compressor. I'm glad I didn't spend that extra money. You rarely change the pressure, and it's so easy to do.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

Second set of these Airbags I have put on a truck. All I can say is that there is a reason they don't show you the passenger side installation, as it is much harder to get the bags inserted on the passenger side. I did the installation in a gravel lot and only had a small hydrophilic floor jack that I was able to set on orange trailer leveling blocks to get the additional height I needed. I jacked the truck up from the hitch and used a jack stand and the floor jack to hold it in place. I was able to get the necessary separation without ever having the wheels leave the ground. Sounds a little sketchy but after I set it up this way gave it a good push from the tailgate and the sides of the truck and there was no movement at all....I'm an old guy that doesn't take many chances. One tip if you do it this way....don't waist time trying to work from below like they are doing in the video. You do have to be under the truck to get the bags into place and get that first bolt started. But you can put the second bolt and nut on and tighten them up by accessing it from the side, as the top mounting plates are above the tire level at that point. It is much easier to work, when you can see what you are doing.

These continue to work flawlessly and my primary use is to give me some adjustability while towing our Airstream trailer. We have it paired with the wireless compressor and can add air on the fly while towing.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

The air bags do their job well and would be great for someone who caries the same load all the time or doesn't carry a load often these would be great. I have different loads on my trailer or I'm empty multiple times per day, I definitely recommend buying the setup with an air compressor and remote.

Purchased the Airlift 5000 Series Airbags, 88288. Do it yourself installation was fairly easy with no complications. Installation instructions were detailed and there are several online Installation videos to view online. Would highly recommend these bags over the various leaf springs helpers available.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I installed the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000's on my 2014 F150. Installation was easy and what a difference they make. They make my everyday drive smoother and how my truck drives while pulling my 35' camper is night and day different. I utilize a load leveling system but my truck still sagged a lot and after installing these, my truck is now level. I'm not sure why I went so long without these.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

2020 GMC 2500. Did LoadLifter 5000 and EZ compressor set up. The exhaust runs down the passenger side and the fuse box with switched power signal is on the driver side so for multiple reasons I wanted to mount the compressor on the driver side. I couldn’t do inside the rail as I would have preferred given all the DEF and fuel tanks. Above the frame rail running down most of the truck are 2 solid brake lines that would interfere with the U bolt to mount the EZ compressor assembly vertically as I originally intended. I did find a space I could fit it in without interference with those lines but it hung low and was more visible and exposed that I preferred. I did find though 2 existing holes in the frame that the U bolt fit in perfectly for a horizontal mount without interference and much higher and better tucked up under the truck for a super clean mount. The U bolt threads didn’t run deep enough for a single frame wall mount so for $3, I bought steel spacers and after painting them inside and out for corrosion resistance, I mounted very easily for a “customized” no drill $3 option. There is also a large wire harness that runs from that spot all the way to the battery so it was easy to run my wires along side and attach to that all the way up. Very happy with that location as air lines were easy to run and plenty long from there as well and put in 2 service loops just in case. I ended up running the pink wire to the fuse box and bought some fuse splicer wires Iike in the etrailer video. Hesitated to trim the fuse box on my brand new truck so the lid would close and like to keep mods as unnoticeable as possible so wanted to see how well it performed just based on motion and waking with the remote or app. I’ll wire it later if needed but just left it tucked for now. I also picked up some Daystar airbag cradles and mounted those to bottom bracket using the existing center hole in the bracket. Just picked up longer SS countersink bolts and hex nuts. No drill but I did have to trim the bolts off for a perfect length. Now the stretch of the airbag doesn’t limit suspension travel down and I don’t have to worry about bag damage when on a service lift down the road. Obviously when under its own weight or loaded the bags fit snugly and are well supported by the cradles. Outside of the time to buy the additional hardware that took zero additional time and is much preferred as now I can take it to the shop without worry. The only draw back is they are 6” cradles and I would have preferred the 7500# air bags for extra duty but they are 7”. I run the same setup on my 2002 Excursion and knew for sure I wanted the cradles so stayed with 5000# bags. I’m not loading a skid steer in the bed so really that should be plenty. Love the AirLift system and have ran them for years. Glad to have them installed on my new truck and look forward to the next load. Put pics of bags with suspension full droop, and then under normal weight. Also pics of the mounting location and final mounted compressor set up and look from side of truck. Would recommend this set up for anyone who uses their truck like a truck and would recommend these minor mods on the install.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air bags work great and are reliable. I ended pairing the with the WirelessOne air compressor with the remote so I could keep a constant PSI while towing. I use them to tweak my Equalizer weight distribution bars while towing, I drop the pressure to stiffen the ride or add pressure to loosen it up. It seems after a year, it's starting to leak a little, but normally all you need to do is reset the hoses that have slipped a little over time.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I have a work truck with a heavy utility body that has really stressed the rear suspension. Put these on my truck, install was easy and didn't take very long. My truck immediately drives like it did when it was new. Great breaking, no more roll and a much stiffer ride, plus my headlights are back in the right alignment.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

I put these Air Helper Springs on a 2013 Ram 2500. Installation of the air bags took a little over two hours and was easy following the instructions. No drilling was requited. Just make sure you do not forget to complete a leak check and make sure to cut the airlines with a very sharp cutter. I purchased the Helper Springs to assist the truck springs and reduce sag when pulling our 17,000 Lb fifth wheel toy hauler with a 3,700 Lb tongue weight. I chose this part number because of the jounce bumper since they would prevent the springs from totally collapsing should total air loss occur. They do the job reducing the sag and increasing vehicle stability. Shout out to etrailer.com for excellent products at reasonable prices.

Review from a similar LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate in Vehicle Suspension

The package arrived all beat to heck but everything was still inside. The installation was fairly straight forward except the instructions had me leave the airbag loose in the mount until the mounts were firmly bolted in place on the frame and spring, this would have been ok but there was no room to get a wrench in the top and bottom to tighten it up. I had to use the by guess method to get them aligned and tightened down then sliding them into place to attach the mounts. I'm a handy guy and the installation on my motor home took about 4 hours, they did the job and brought it back up to level. Will see how the handling is on my next trip.

There is no heat shield supplied with this installation kit. The clearance between the air spring and the exhaust pipe is only 4" on my 2015 F-150 which is insufficient according to Air Lift's Installation Checklist which requires 6 inches. etrailer.com should have included that information in their installation and product review videos or in the other documentation they provided.

Watched the video, took about an hour to do the installation myself. I added this product to level out truck when hauling my fifth wheel camper. Overall great craftsmanship on this product, easy installation. I just couldn’t drill holes in my new bumper for the valve stems, so I add a piece of aluminum angle iron, drilled two 5/16 holes and added two self tapping screws to the hitch, turned out well.

  • Suspension Enhancement Recommendations for 2020 Ford F150 4x4
The best solution for you will depend on how you usually use your truck. If the sag you experience is caused by the slide in camper only, or may also when you to a gooseneck or 5th wheel camper, then a Timbren Suspension Enhancement System like # TFR1504E would be a great choice. The Timbren system won't impact your suspension performance until the rear suspension compresses by around an inch or so. This means no air lines to mess with, no ruptured bags, no guesswork. The AirLift air bag helper springs # AL88385 may lift the back of your 2015 Ford F-150 some but they are not designed just for that purpose and I doubt that you would get a 1 inch lift with as little as 5 psi in the air bags. The Curt A16 5th Wheel Hitch # C16120 and the Reese 16K # RP30047 are very similar but I'm going to give the advantage to the A16 because of its interlocking jaws which provide a superior connection, built-in color-coded lock indicator, and built in zerk fittings (easy lubrication points). The Curt Custom Installation Kit #...

  • Recommended Air Bag System for 2015 Ford F-150 Compatible with In Bed Gooseneck Hitch
I do have a solution for you but the Firestone Air Bags # F2582 you mentioned will not fit because the mounting brackets will interfere with brackets for a gooseneck hitch like the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit # BWGNRK1115, which is the correct fit for your 2015 Ford F-150. Instead of the Firestone bags, you would want to use the AirLift Load Lifter 5000 # AL88385 for a 4x4 or # AL57268 for a 2-wheel drive model, which are both compatible...

  • Air Springs And Fifth Wheel Hitch For a 2019 Ford F-150 With A 5-1/2 FT Bed
For your 2019 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 ft bed I recommend the Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch - Dual Jaw - 20,000 lbs item # PS30119. This hitch is dual jaw which makes for a tighter fit around the king pin. Can be adjusted from 13" up to 17" to provide the room needed between your bed rails and the bottom of the nose on the camper. We recommend at least 6" of clearance. Fully floating head allows for full range of motion when camper is connected. One person can easily remove hitch from...

  • Best Rear Suspension Upgrade for a 2020 Ford F-150
My favorite upgrade for rear suspension systems on the 2020 Ford F-150 are air bags. These help get your truck back to factory ride height and take a lot of pressure off of that rear suspension system. By taking that pressure off of it you are dramatically extending the life of the system. Airbags will also give you full control with changing loads. The heavier the load the more pressure you want in the system, the lighter the load the lower the pressure. There are a couple of types...

  • What Is Needed to Tow 5th Wheel Trailer With 2020 Ford F-150 With 5-1/2 Foot Bed
You can tow a 5th wheel with your 2020 Ford F-150 with a 5-1/2 foot bed, but you will need a standard/fixed 5th wheel hitch and a Sidewinder rotating pin box. The reason for that is the Sidewinder will move the pivot point back to the turret, which allows for the needed clearance so your 5th wheel trailer does not crash into your F-150's cab. The correct Sidewinder will depend on your 5th wheel trailer's pin box model number, as you'll need that in order to know the correct fit. For...

  • Comparing Firestone And Air Lift Air Helper Springs For 2018 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD
Between the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs - Double Convoluted - Rear Axle # F2582 and Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers - Rear Axle # AL88385 for your 2018 Ford F-150 XLT 4WD Crew Cab with the 3.5L Eco Boost engine I recommend the # F2582. While both options have a limited lifetime warranty, the air springs used on the # F2582 are a higher quality making them less likely to rupture, and a crimped to the metal end plates to keep...

  • How To Upgrade Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs to Ultimate on a 2016 Ford F-150
The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs part # AL57385 which are for a 2016 Ford F-150 can be upgraded to the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers part # AL88385 with the Replacement Air Spring for Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate System part # AL84290 (Same As 57385).

  • Airlift Loadlifter 5000 or Airlift Ride Control for 2019 Ford F-150 and 1,400 lb Pin Weight
The Airlift Ride Control Air Helper Springs # AL59570 are not compatible with an in bed hitch, so your only option is to install the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 # AL57385, or the Air Lift LoadLifter Ultimate # AL88385. The custom brackets on the LoadLifter 5000 are specifically designed to not interfere with a custom 5th wheel installation kit, like # C16442-204 for your 2019 Ford F-150. Although it may seem like it's a bit of an overkill for your pin weight, the great thing about air...

  • Will Firestone 2582 Air Helper Springs Fit work with B&W Gooseneck Hitch on a 2018 Ford F-150
I do have a solution for you, but unfortunately the Firestone Ride-Rite Air Helper Springs # F2582 are not compatible with the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # BWGNRK1115 currently installed on your 2018 Ford F-150. Instead I recommend the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs which are available with the standard option # AL57385 as well as with the internal jounce bumpers with part # AL88385. These installed under the frame instead of in the same location...

  • Rear Helper Springs for a 2015 Ford F-150 with B&W Gooseneck Hitch Installed
I do have a couple of solutions for you but the Firestone kit # F2582 will not fit because its mounting brackets will interfere with the B&W brackets on your 2015 Ford F-150. What will work for air bag kits will be # AL88385 for a 4x4 or # AL57268 for a 2-wheel drive model. I have included links to the instructions so you can see that the brackets will not interfere. You can also use a Timbren kit, # TFR1504D for a 4x4 or # TFR1502D for a 2x4. The benefit of these systems is that there...

  • What Air Bags Work With Curt 5th Wheel Brackets on 2018 Ford F-150
Not all air bags are compatible with an in-bed hitch for your 2018 Ford F-150, no matter the bracket manufacturer. And in the interest of thoroughness, the Curt Custom, No-Drill Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit # C16442 will fit your 2018 Ford F-150, and requires the use of Curt Universal Fifth Wheel Base Rails - Gloss Finish # C16104 or Carbide Black Finish # C16204. If you don't have the rails, you can get the bracket kit and base rails in a kit with the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation...

  • 5th Wheel Hitch & Air Bags For 2020 Ford F-150
We can get your 2020 Ford F-150 set up to tow a 5th wheel trailer, though in regards to capacities, that depends on many different factors, including axle ratio and wheelbase so I recommend taking a look in your owner's manual for the specifics. So let's go ahead and get started with the hitch and air bags, and the best set up for your truck is from Curt: - Curt A16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # C16120 - Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ford F-150 # C16442-204 I love this...

  • Recommended Suspension Enhancement for 2018 Ford F-150 3.5L Ecoboost Towing Large Trailer
It looks like the 2018 Ford F-150 with 3.5L Ecoboost has a 13000-lbs towing capacity, so you shouldn't have any issues towing a 7500-lbs trailer. I do recommend confirming this capacity in your vehicle's owners manual. I recommend adding the Roadmaster Active Suspension Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit # RAS3611-Y which will do a great job of helping beef up your existing suspension system. The Roadmaster system helps level out your vehicle when towing loads are attached and will also...

  • Compressor Kit Recommendation 2015 Ford F-150 with Air Lift Kit to Fine Tune Air Pressure
With an air suspension kit like the Air Lift kit part # AL88385 you will have to constantly be changing the air pressure in the bags to allow you the best possible ride height. There won't be one air pressure setting that will work in all situations. To help with this you would want the compressor kit part # AL25592 which will allow you the ability to maintain the pressure in the bags so that you can fine tune the air pressure while driving so that you can get the best possible ride height.

  • Air Bag Helper Springs for a 2016 Ford F-150 SuperCrew 4x4 with B&W Gooseneck Hitch Installed
Yes we do! We actually have several kits that will work on your 2016 Ford F-150 4x4 with the B&W gooseneck hitch already installed. You can use Air Lift kits # AL57385 or # AL88385. These kits all have upper brackets that attach to the bottoms of the frame rails so they won't interfere with the B&W hitch brackets. Both of these kits are rated for 5,000 pounds. The difference is that # AL88385 has jounce springs inside the air springs and kit # AL57385 does not. For either of the...

I have two similar Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 applications I'd recommend for your F150. If you live in a marine environment, or the vehicle will be frequently exposed to saltwater, I'd go with the # AL89385 LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Plus, which features internal jounce bumpers, stainless steel roll plates, air lines and hardware for great corrosion resistance.
