Features to know about

Stay Level and Confident Under Heavy Loads: 5,000-lb Rear Suspension Support

When the rear end squats under a trailer or full bed load, steering and braking can feel light. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate adds up to 5,000 lbs of load-leveling capacity on the rear axle so your truck stays level even when towing or hauling heavy cargo. By keeping the stance right, you maintain confident control, stable braking, and proper headlight aim no matter what’s in tow.

Keep Rolling Even if Pressure Drops: Built-In Jounce Bumpers

A sudden air pressure loss doesn’t have to leave you stranded. Each LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air spring has internal urethane jounce bumpers that take over when air is low. They absorb shock and prevent bottoming out, getting progressively firmer as the load increases. That extra safeguard keeps your suspension protected and your ride smoother through bumps or rough pavement.

Dial In the Ride You Want: Adjustable From 5 psi to 100 psi

Every haul is different, and this setup lets you tune for it. Each air bag can be inflated anywhere from 5 psi to 100 psi so you can firm things up when loaded or soften them for daily driving. The two sides can even be adjusted independently to even out an off-center or uneven load. It’s a simple way to keep your truck level and handling right whether you’re towing a camper or carrying gear in the bed.

Built Tough for Long Hauls: Fabric-Reinforced Bags and Zytel Endcaps

The LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate is made for years of real work. The air bags use 2-ply, fabric-reinforced rubber for strength and flexibility, while corrosion-proof Zytel nylon endcaps replace metal so rust can’t creep in. That durable combo cuts down on air leaks and keeps performance consistent over time, giving you dependable support through weather, salt, and long miles on the road.

Video Transcript for Review of Air Lift Vehicle Suspension - Towing/Load Leveling - AL28FF

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at the Airlift LoadLifter 5,000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with included internal jounce bumpers for your rear axle. Now folks, these are a custom fit. They're gonna fit a 2024 through 2026 GMC Sierra or Chevy Silverado, the 2,500 series four wheel drive models. So folks, make sure you're double checking that with our fit guide here at etrailer.com or reach out to us if you have questions.

Keep in mind, sometimes these videos could become outdated and it could potentially fit newer year makes and models as well. Now folks, again, custom fit for your vehicle. It's gonna mount to your existing attachment points, 5,000 pounds capacity of suspension support for the rear. So when you're towing and you're load carrying maybe a camper or something, a lot of times whenever you're set up you can get squat in the back and it's pointing your headlights up to the top of the earth and those kind of things. So pushing your back end back level is gonna push those headlights down, put traction back on the front of your vehicle that you're towing with, giving you a more safe, stable environment.

So this is also a hybrid spring system, meaning it combines the air pressure along with the internal jump so you can't see it, it's inside the bag when they build it, but basically it's an internal jounce. So this spring can never compress all the way flat and that's gonna help you if God forbid, you have like a faulty bag or something like that. Anytime it's gonna have at least some suspension still there helping that out. It's also gonna reduce sag, enhancing your braking, steering, and turning performance when you're going into turns with your load. So everything here is included.

You have the airlines, those will hook up to the airline valve up here on the bag. And then of course you have your shrader valves already built in with the caps. You have a heat plate heat shield for your exhaust on the side that that comes off of. And then you have all these U bolts and bolts and hardware for putting all this together. Now I have everything here just kind of loosely put together.

Do not look at this and say, oh, that's how it's supposed to be. Make sure you follow the instructions, make sure you put everything exactly where you need to. From what I read with the instructions, some of this hardware can be used this way or inverted on the bottom of these plates here. So depending on your specific vehicle and what you have when you're under there, it could vary and you may not even use all of the hardware either. So again, check the instructions, make sure you're following those instructions very, very clearly. So again, these bags are a nice option for you. Again, if you wanna reduce sag, get your headlights back where they need to be, rated at 5,000 pounds capacity, you can adjust the air pressure in the bags between five PSI all the way up to 100 PSI. Well folks, that is gonna wrap it up for our quick look together at this air lift load lifter 5,000 air helper spring with internal jounce bumpers. Again, I'm Steven. Thanks for watching and again, reach out to us if you have any questions. Have a good one.

Bought with specific expectations of ride height that I confirmed with Air Lift. I purchased through etrailer.com and installed. The ride with the minimum air (5psi) made the truck ride about 1 1/2" high. Because I had asked specifically about this and was told it wouldn't increase ride height with minimum air, I requested a return. Product description was misleading. etrailer would not return product and basically told me "to bad".

Our return policy does state than once an item is installed and or used, it cannot be returned. If something is defective, that would be a different story. I know this sucks, but I think I have a potential way to not need to return it. That minimum 5 psi is for bags that do not have an internal jounce. The # AL28FF you ordered does have the internal jounce, so you can actually run these at 0 psi and it will not hurt them. I think that is why Air Lift said they wouldn't raise the ride hide after being installed. Do you also keep a lot of things in your bed? 1.5" of lift at 5 psi is surprising with suspension that is not starting to wear.

I was easy to install just a few hours. Everything in the kit fit well. It would be nice if an extension brackets were provided for the brake line/abs wire mounting bars would be included like the brake line adapters that’s provided in the kit is my only recommendation to make it top notch.

Glad to hear the install went smoothly! Thanks for the suggestion on the brake line/ABS brackets too. Definitely something that could make a good kit even better!

Added 40lbs of air, they sit the rear of truck up nicely.

Works amazing. The install was a little more difficult than it appears… It actually took me and a couple other guys five hours to get it completely installed.
There was a lot of cutting/grinding metal to make pieces fit properly, and had to drop the axel completely… I think that’s only for my gen 2 raptor.
At the end of the day, though I’m very happy with the result

Product works great and helps level the truck during towing. I have noticed a difference in the amount of travel my back wheels have when offloading. But I knew that would be a sacrifice.

Happy to hear these are getting the job done! Your set up looks great, and man! What a beautiful picture. Blue, sunny skies, green grass, a cool breeze (I'd wager) perfect day to hitch up the trailer and get some work done!

Been great! I really don’t like the internal jounce stops though. When you are unloaded and running lower bag pressure, a dip or bump will hit the bump stops really hard and jar your passengers in the backseat. It’s almost too uncomfortable to ride in the backseat now. As for the loaded and high pressure performance it’s great! Great handling and no sag at all when towing.

by:
The truck rides much better now, though I haven’t yet towed with the air bags yet. The bags took out that annoying side to side movement.
Just great!

I purchased a set of these airbags for my old truck from etrailer and ran them for 17 years pulling a 42’ fifth wheel without any problems. So there was no hesitation for me to order the same for my new truck. I looked up everything I needed up on the etrailers site and called Josh at etrailer and he verified what I needed and got it on order. Also he verified my onboard compressor would work with the new air bags. Everything was received in a few days as usual. The airbags came with very good instructions and were no trouble to install and installation went quickly and have been preforming great. etrailer is always my go too for my truck and camper parts, also the bonus is if you have any problems or questions you can call etrailer and talk to a real person and get any problems corrected. etrailer for the win.
by:
I did the installation myself with auto ramps and a bottle jack. The instructions were good, however, some of the pictures were dark and hard to see. At 60 PSI and no load the truck rides like it has no shocks so I have been running 10 PSI and it seems to be great. 2015 F250 4x2 ext cab. I drilled the TAG screws and install the air fill ports in there place.

Incredible difference! Even with a weight distribution hitch i couldn’t get my toyhauler and tundra level. The internal jounce alone raised my hitch several inches but with air, Wow! Also note, you CAN keep the RAS helper springs installed. You just have to pry a little when installing the U-bolts.

Good system seems to made very well. I also got the Airlift Compressor as well Would have done 5 stars but the quick mount doesn't fit a 2025 F250 frame. About an inch to small. DIRECTIONS are terrible, pictures are blurry. Had to you tube the install. for that much money a couple of more pages explaining better with clear pictures.

Overall I am very pleased with the LoadLifter 5000. I purchased for a 2017 Tundra 1794 which we pull a 26' travel trailer. Prior to purchase the truck & trailer had a noticeable sag and it was challenging to distribute the weight in the trailer to reduce the sag. With the LL5000 the sag is eliminated with around 40 psi and the overall feel of the truck & trailer was much more solid and less bouncy when going over rough roads. Also, I was able to haul some lumber several times were the load was around 1,700 lbs which was 600 lbs over the stock capacity of the Tundra of 1,100 lbs...this was done with 60 psi. The LL5000 really showed their performance there with no sag with this load. The only reason I give a 4 out of 5 stars is the drive performance when not carrying a load or towing the trailer. Unfortunately the drive is not as smooth as the stock configuration. I've tried adjusting the pressure from 0 psi thru 30 psi in intervals of 5 psi and unfortunately there's some added bumpiness no matter which psi is selected. Overall, at around 10psi that seems to be the best ride but again, not the smoothness of the stock configuration. But if you're needing to eliminate sag with a trailer or boost your haul capacity, the LL5000 will definitely satisfy those needs.

VERY GOOD FIRST IMPRESSION!

I have a 2020 Sierra 1500 AT4. I have the back loaded with a DECKED drawer system full of tools, plus all my gear in tubs for investigating fire scenes. My amazing pickup was nearly riding the bump stops all day. On a bumpy road, it was pretty taxing. Off-road was brutal. After some research I found this kit to fit my AT4 truck, part #88388.

You will need tall jack stands for this project. We ended up bracing ours on the rear leaf spring perches due to exhaust routing.

This is a brand new install, so time will tell as to how it holds up, but I have high expectations. This kit comes with paper instructions that are pretty spot-on. The pictures were helpful, and the instructions are detailed enough for a novice to understand. With one extra set of hands, I installed this kit in about 2 hours. I mounted the single fill valve in my gas-fill area, hidden behind the fuel lid. No bending over to add or release pressure.

After the install, I ran the pressure up to 40 psi as recommended. I got about 2 1/2” of lift out of that. I pulled a trailer home from the shop, and my truck rode like brand new. For my daily cargo, I think 40 pounds is just about perfect. And my tailgate is back at belly button height again. My headlights are shining where they should be shining. My bottomed-out ride is now compliant and comfortable.

The parts seem to be quality, and I had zero fitment issues. The only specialty tool was the T40 TORX tip for removing brackets from the axle front. You need it before you start. This kit is an easy install with a basic 3/8” socket set, a couple box end wrenches, and a couple other basic hand tools. This project should not scare too many people away.

Pro tip: You may think you can do it without taking off the tires. DON’T!! You’ll be pissed off at your truck and anyone nearby. The time savings will be worth it.

Also, the parking brake is on the back axle. Chock the front tires and/or put your rig in 4 low before lifting the back end.

@GwendolynY The trailer was picked up in a pasture and dropped off in another. Both the fetching and delivering were compliant rides. The airbags sure looked small during the install, but they managed my truck and trailer weight with ease and grace. It’s exactly what I hoped for when I purchased this air bag kit. The factory suspension was able to manage the bumps all while NOT having to fumble with the added cargo I pack around. I give this setup an A+ after driving it for a few days. The highway miles are on par with my truck brand new and empty. I’m very pleased with the product on and off road. I’ve dropped the pressure in the bags to 35 for a comparison, but I know there’s a sweet spot at 40 psi for my working conditions.

These bags have been great! I installed them, along with the compressor, on my 2024 Tundra. I pull a 6k lb camper and was getting about 3” of squat. I run 45 lbs in them and it reduced the squat to only about 1”. Great price to fix my problem.

etrailer delivered these in four days which was a pleasant surprise. The Load Lifter 5000 were easy to install and all of the parts fit perfectly. The installation instructions were spot on as well. I tried to save a little time by leaving the wheels mounted, that turned out to be a mistake, so I removed the wheels mounted on the second side and saved about 45 minutes. The loadlifters perform exactly how I want. They took all of the sway out of my tundra while hauling my truck camper.

works very well. i installed them on a 2012 Ford F-150 towing a Grand Design 2600 RB. the airbags substantially helped cut down the bouncing when going over big bumps, bridge decks, etc. also helps with the side winds. very happy with set up.

I explained the size/weight of the load I carry in my duallie. A 5000lb slide in camper and a 28' twin engine jet boat. These bags are probably great for their respective load, but I was convinced by the sales team at etrailer that these would be sufficient. They aren't. I can put 100lbs of air (the max) in and truck still sags. Should have gone with the 7500 lb bags.

Installed on a 2024 GMC Sierra Crew SLT with rear poly mono springs. This worked great and the install was easy. It took me about 2.5 hours on a 4 post lift, but you could do it in the driveway if you needed to. I reached out to airlift to make sure it would work on a vehicle with mono-springs and they were not 100 percent sure if it would. So I took a chance and it worked flawlessly!

Hey Robert. The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate Air Helper Springs with Internal Jounce Bumpers item # AL28FF do indeed fit the 2025 Chevy Silverado 2500 ZR2. Please note that the item # AL28FF installs on the outside of the frame in the same location that brackets for a gooseneck or 5th wheel hitch mount. If you're planning on installing an in bed hitch or already have one, I recommend installing the Firestone Ride Rite Kit item # F2709 instead. These air bags are also compatible with...

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you may have an automatic leveling compressor system installed on your truck. It would be set to a specific PSI and would manually inflate or deflate to meet the use-set ride height setting. Under normal conditions it should not be kicking on very often, unless you have a leak somewhere. Do you know exactly what brand air bag kit and model of compressor you have?
