Air Bags On 2023 Chevy 2500 Continue To Level The Truck And Drain The Battery

Question:
We have a 2023 Chevy 2500 pickup truck that we had air bag levelers put on. We don’t use this truck often. It seems that the airbags continue to level the truck and that drains the battery. Is it possible to turn off the levelers or just deflate the bags until needed to prevent this?

Hello Mark, thanks for reaching out. It sounds like you may have an automatic leveling compressor system installed on your truck. It would be set to a specific PSI and would manually inflate or deflate to meet the use-set ride height setting. Under normal conditions it should not be kicking on very often, unless you have a leak somewhere.
Do you know exactly what brand air bag kit and model of compressor you have?
If it is an automatic compressor I suggest first checking for leaks as this should, for the most part, resolve the issue of the compressor running too often. Aside from that, the only way to stop the compressor from running would be to disconnect it from power.

Thank you Jesse. We will keep looking for leaks, we haven't found any at this point. I think we will just need to disconnect the power to eliminate the issue.
