When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This front brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty brake pads with heat-managing rotors for strong initial bite and predictable braking through repeated stops.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
Fresh brake components often need a break-in period before they reach their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your brake components stay in better condition between services while continuing to provide the smooth braking performance they were designed to deliver.
Replacing brakes is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren Front Wheel BES Brake Upgrade Kit. Now you are going to get two rotors with this. I only have one on my table here right now, but I just want to let you know right up front that this kit does include two rotors. And this is designed for your 2015 to 2017 Ford F-150 with the electronic or manual parking brake.
And on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle thick guide here at etrailer, pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it has for you. And our pick guide will confirm if this kit will work for you, or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now upgrading the suspension of your truck will definitely improve the ride quality. It'll help reduce sag and it's going to make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling those heavier loads. But it's not going to take care of the problem of the extra workload on your factory brakes.
So if you've ever felt like your truck takes longer to stop when you're towing a trailer or maybe your brakes are wearing out faster than you expected, or maybe that added weight is making your braking feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit comes into play. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying those heavier loads. These low metallic Onyx bike brake pads are going to give you a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're going to notice a more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. On the other side here, we have these multi-layer rubber shims that are going to help stabilize the brake pads during braking, ultimately reducing vibration.
On your screen, I popped up a few photos there, showing you the first one there, that multi-layered construction of Timbren shims. And then that second photo there gives you a better look at the construction of the brake pad with that shim removed, just so you have a better look at it. So it's going to help, the shim's going to help keep the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing brake performance. So these positive molded pads paired with these precision balanced rotors are going to give you smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of these rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors.
It's going to help dissipate heat during the repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. As you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is about 67% better than the standard Geomet coating most commonly used on OEM parts. This coating is also going to help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting braking performance. By the way, the pads also feature embedded coating, indicated by the blue lines here on the pads. That's going to transfer to the rotor to protect protect it during the first few stops. So you're going to be able to enjoy that consistent braking performance sooner after installation. Speaking of which, installations are going to be pretty straightforward. You get everything that you see here on my table before me. But if you think you would like help with installation, maybe you're not too excited about doing it yourself. On this product page underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you. And that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. But if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck and you've got that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake kit is going to address that other half of the equation that you're looking for. It's going to give your truck the stopping power and the confidence to better handle the extra weight of towing or hauling together. They're going to give you a safer, more capable towing setup. I think that's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
