When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This front brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty brake pads with heat-managing rotors for strong initial bite and predictable braking through repeated stops.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
Fresh brake components often need a break-in period before they reach their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your brake components stay in better condition between services while continuing to provide the smooth braking performance they were designed to deliver.
Replacing brakes is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren Front Wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2014 to 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500 with the six piston calipers, and then your 2019 Silverado and Sierra 1500 LD and Limited, again, with the six piston calipers. On custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend taking advantage of our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Just input the year, make and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you.
And our fit guide will confirm if this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now upgrading your suspension of your truck can improve the ride quality, can help reduce that sagging, and it can make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling, but it doesn't reduce the extra workload that are placed on your factory brakes. So if you've ever felt like that your truck takes longer to stop with a trailer or with those heavier loads, or maybe your brakes are wearing faster than you've expected, or adding weight to your truck is making your braking feeling less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit is going to come in. This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying heavier loads. These low metallic, rather, Onyx brake pads are going to give you a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occur with frequent stopping when towing.
So you're going to notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every trip. And these multi-layered rubber shims are going to help keep brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance. As you can see there, I have an example of one of these shims on your screen just kind of giving you the detail of how it's constructed, what makes it different, along with just an overall review of the construction of the brake pads themselves. So these positive molded pads are going to pair with these precision balance rotors to promote smooth, even braking and even more consistent pedal feel. Speaking of these rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors as you can see here.
So that's going to help dissipate heat during repeated stops. That's going to help reduce brake fade when towing. And these are premium G3000 raw iron rotors, and they feature Timbren's OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, veins, and outer edges. And of course, as you know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than your standard Geomat coatings on most commonly used OEM parts.
And so that coating's going to help protect from rust as well. It's caused by road spray, moisture and winter driving. That's going to help keep your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting braking performance. These pads and rotors feature a break-in coating and finish that's going to help speed up the bedding in process so you're going to be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner rather than later. And installation's going to be pretty straightforward. This is going to come with everything that you see here, the hardware, the lubricant, the pads, and these rotors, and everything is high quality here from Timbren. But if you want help with installation on this product page, typically underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the installation. But overall, if you've already upgraded the suspension in your truck, and you're getting that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake upgrade kit is going to compliment that suspension upgrade that you've already have. It's basically addressing the other half of the equation, if you will. So this is going to give your truck the stopping power and the confidence to better handle that extra weight in your truck, or towing those heavier trailers, and working together with your suspension upgrade kit. This is going to give you a safer, more capable towing setup. I think it's going to wrap up our look today. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
