When your truck is working harder under tow, factory brakes can feel slower to respond. This rear brake upgrade kit pairs severe-duty pads with rotors that manage heat and deliver strong initial bite, so repeated stops stay smooth and predictable.
Adding trailer weight changes how your truck responds when you press the brake pedal, especially during sudden stops or repeated braking. These brake pads use a severe-duty, low-metallic friction formula that delivers a strong initial bite, while the matched rotors use OEM-style vanes to help manage the added heat towing creates. Together they give your truck a more immediate, predictable braking response that stays consistent through repeated stops.
Brake vibration often traces back to uneven rotor machining or inconsistent braking surfaces, especially after repeated heat cycles. The rotors use computer-controlled castings with fly-cut, mill-balanced construction and meet or exceed OE specifications for machining tolerances. A non-directional cross-hatch finish promotes even pad bed-in, helping your brake service start with uniform contact and maintain smooth pedal feel as your truck accumulates miles.
New brake components require a break-in period before they deliver their intended performance. These brake pads use positive mold manufacturing to produce consistent density and precise dimensions, then add a bed-in coating that improves initial pedal feel and shortens the break-in process. Multi-layer vulcanized rubber shims help limit the extra noise commonly associated with high-bite low-metallic pads, so your truck delivers responsive braking without unnecessary chatter.
Road spray, moisture, and winter conditions often leave exposed brake components looking rough long before the friction surface wears out. The G3000 premium raw iron rotors use an OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and edges to help reduce rust on exposed non-friction surfaces. Your rotors stay looking better between services without affecting braking performance.
Replacing brake rotors is a job many experienced DIYers can handle, but brakes are one of those projects where being almost right is still wrong. If you would rather leave it to a professional, find an installer near you.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Timbren rear wheel BES brake upgrade kit. Now this kit has been designed to fit your 2014 to 2018 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500s with either the two or six piston calipers. And then your 2019 Silverado or Sierra 1500 LD or Limited again with either the two or six piston calipers. So on custom fit parts such as this kit, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer, pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle, answer any other questions that it might have for you.
And our fit guide will confirm if indeed this kit will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Now upgrading your suspension on your truck will improve the ride quality. It will help reduce that sag and it will also make your truck feel more stable while you're towing or hauling those heavier loads. But unfortunately it doesn't reduce that extra workload that's being placed on your brakes. So if you ever felt like that your truck was taking longer to stop while you we inchesre towing a trailer or your brakes we inchesre wearing out faster than expected, or maybe that added weight was making your brakes feel less confident, that's where this BES brake upgrade kit comes in.
This kit is designed to give your truck stronger, more consistent braking when it's carrying or towing those heavier loads. These low metallic Onyx-Bite brake pads are gonna give you a strong initial bite and eliminate brake fade that occurs with frequent stopping when towing. So you're gonna notice more confident, consistent braking performance on every road trip. If you notice here on the back, these are multi-layered rubber shims that are gonna help stabilize the brake pads during braking. Ultimately, these shims are going to reduce vibration, keeping the brake noise to a minimum without sacrificing braking performance.
On your screen, I've got a few photos there for you just real quickly. That first one's a close up of one of the shims just showing you the multi-layered construction. The second photo shows you a brake pad, a little more detailed with the construction with that shim pulled off. So I just wanted to give you a better idea of the construction of the shim and the pad itself. So these positive molded brake pads paired with these precision balance rotors are going to promote smooth, even braking and more consistent pedal feel.
Now speaking of the rotors, these are OEM style vented rotors. They're gonna help dissipate heat during repeated stops to reduce brake fade when towing. These are premium G3000 raw iron rotors, and they are going to feature Timbren OnyxBond matte black coating on the hat, vanes, and outer edges. As you no doubt know, heat is the enemy of brakes. So this OnyxBond coating has a heat threshold of up to 932 degrees Fahrenheit, which is 67% better than the standard GeoMet coating that is found on, most commonly found on OEM parts. This coating's also going to help protect them from rust caused by road spray, moisture, and winter driving, keeping your brakes looking cleaner between services without affecting your braking performance. The pads also feature a bed encoding indicated by the blue stripes there on the pads. That is going to transfer to the rotors to protect it during the first stops. So you're gonna be able to enjoy consistent braking performance sooner after installation. Speaking of which, installation should be relatively straightforward. Everything that you see here is included. But if you're not too excited about doing the insulation yourself, that's okay because on this product page, underneath the photo section, we have a link that will take you to our installer locator. Click that link, answer the questions that it has for you, and that locator will find an installer in your area that etrailer has partnered with to help you with the install. But overall, if you've already upgraded the suspension on your truck and you're enjoying that smoother, more controlled ride, this brake upgrade kit is going to compliment that suspension upgrade by really addressing the other half of the equation, giving your truck more stopping power and confidence to better handle that extra weight that you're hauling or towing. And so together it's going to help create a more safe, a more capable towing setup and experience. Well, I think that's going to wrap up our quick look today. I do hope that our brief time together was helpful for you. Again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
