Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.
- If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
- If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
- If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
- If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

This was a replacement for a Dexter brake that was on a 4 year old Airstream that had less than 9000 miles on it and proved to be defective. Dexter wouldn’t honor the 5-year warranty since I wasn’t the original owner. Service from etrailer was great but I wouldn’t select another Dexter product if there were other options.

Well I ordered it in July when broke down in Buffalo. It was to be a spare part. It came. The neighbor took it off the porch and kept it. In August we returned and opened up the box. It was 11 bottles of Tea Shampoo/conditioner. I called etrailer and talked to Shawnee. She sent another hub assembly and arranged for UPS to pick up the hair products. The new hub arrived.......in a damaged box. The hub was there but the loose hardware was missing out the hole in the side of the box. I emailed etrailer and they sent the hardware items. They arrived today. Their response was quick. It didn't cost me anything extra. Of course, this was messed up and I'm happy I wasn't broke down awaiting for the parts. I think the etrailer part was good except for the packing of the second shipment. I'm not so impressed with the freight company, UPS. The hub is 39 pounds and need additional box reinforcement.
However, other orders in the past have come with no problems.

There was no packing material in with drums and were beat up from moving around. luckily only one cap damaged. Two of the drums were not machined properly and dust cap that was not damaged was loose and would not stay in drum. two of the drums were correct and dust cap tapped in normally.

My camper was stranded up in the mountains of NM and when I got the drum it fit fine but the washer and nylon stop nut were way to small. Thank goodness I didn't throw the old ones away. Now that the camper is home I'll loctite and re-torque the nut.

Hub/drum assembly arrived in good condition, and should provide sensible insurance against bearing failure on our Oliver Elite II travel trailer with Nev R Lube bearings. I have always received good service from etrailer

Ordered part 008-388-80 (dexter nev-R lube hub and 42mm bearing) for my 2017 Airstream international signature 30rb. Perfect fit. Relatively easy to install, good etrailer instructions. When you install these do the shoe adjustment manually at first. After that the take care of themselves.

- Replacement Hub for Dexter 5200 lb Axle with Nev-R-Lube BearingsThere is no difference between these parts the 8-388-30 is simply Dexter's updated part number for the # 8-388-80UC3. The part will work on Dexter Nev-R-Lube Axles that are 6,000 lb capacity and will give you a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern. This is the same assembly used on 5200 lb axles as well.
