Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

White power coated, 15" steel wheel features a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and meets Department of Transportation standards.

Very impressed by the construct of the wheels . They are made in the USA ! and at a reasonable price. They arrived by UPS in a very heavy duty cardboard box with with cardboard and paper separating the two wheels. I was very impressed . No damage at all to box or wheels . Thumbs up to shipping department !

wheels seem good. one had a 3/4" spot that the powder coat is rubbed off. Quality control fail. The spot is on the tire bead seal area. I will have to paint it before I mount the tires or return it.

Wheels were priced well and e trailer has a great selection
Delivery was on time
Package could have been better, some of the paint was chipped due to wheels banging into each other

It's like all you have to do is think about needing rims and two days later there at you front door. Very happy

I received my Dextstar steel spoke trailer wheel faster than expected. I was pleasantly surprised. The trailer rim looks perfect and matches my other one precisely. I'm very happy with my purchasing experience.

It’s a rim…made in the USA. Perfect for a second spare on my travel trailer. Same as the spare that came with it. Recent blowout made me want to have a backup for longer trips.

Wheels came Quickly and were good quali ty

very fast shipping will order again

Over the past year we have pulled the camper over 12,000 miles. The wheels have held up well with no problems. They clean up easily and still look as good as they did when purchased. Very pleased!

Fast shipping and very nice powder coating!, Good packaging.

Great Steel trailer wheel at the lowest price.

Definitely disappointed. I waited an extra week and a half as they only had one in stock. One had 3/16" sideways wobble and one had that plus 1/8" vertical wobble. Pinstriping looked like a 3 year old did it. worst trailer rims I've ever purchased or mounted tires on. Will definitely make me think twice before ordering again if this is their acceptable quality. I'll pull my new tires back off these and mount some scrubs just for Spares, but I'm not going to run these on my trailer and put up with the endless vibrations.

nice product and reasonabled priced always a pleasure to work with etrailer

Very fast shipping, nice wheels to mount my new tires on.

I received the wheels and am very happy with them. Have tires mounted and installed on my trailer. Wheels have a good finish that should look good for years.

Monte E.

So far I am very satisfied with them.

Shipped quickly, packaged in a box and wheels were protected by cardboard inside.

My wheels arrived on the day indicated that they would be delivered. They were packaged well and I found no defects in the product.

These wheels replaced 4 rusty wheels on my 24' travel trailer.

Would recommend this supplier to anyone interested in this product.

These rims do not fair well in a salt water environment even if you wash them down after every time the trailer is dipped in the water. I would spend the money next time and purchase galvanized or even aluminum wheels. I will be replacing them this year since the spokes as they attach to the rim seem suspect. May be a great choice is a fresh water environment but not in salt water.

the 4 wheels arrived when you said. They arrived 2 to a big box much larger than needed with no packing. The wheels were allowed to strike each other as they rolled around in the box causing damage to rim and the inside of the wheel, as the tire covered most of the inside damage, and the hub cap covered Most of the rim damage, I elected to keep them and not return them.
I suggest you review your packing and shipping procedures.

Very good service and very fast

You are beast! Quality- super!

I am most pleased with the service I received from e-trailer. A knowledgeable and courteous representative helped determine the proper items for my needs. Shipping was fast and free with the dollar amount I spent. Will shop with e-trailer.

Great product, bought them to mount spare tires on. Good rims, they are holding up well, no rust. I would purchase these again.

Nice wheels. I like the fact they are made in the USA. They look and feel like a good quality wheel. They torque up and stay tight unlike the foreign made junk they replaced. I'm looking forward to many years of service from them. No regrets here. Glad I found

I only needed 1 wheel, and it looks great. The packaging was outstanding, and the delivery was very prompt. I highly recommend this company. Their great service I consider to be an outstanding value.

  • Spare 15 Inch Rim for 2005 MacGregor 26M Trailer with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
A spare 15 inch wheel that is a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern is the Dexstar # AM20522. This wheel is steel with a white powder coat finish. If you're looking for a different style let me know what kind of wheel you want. You can reply back with a picture if that's easier.

  • Determining Width of Trailer Rim
The only sure way to determine the width of the rim you currently have would be to pull the tire off of it and get a measurement. Your local tire shop should be able to do this for you for very little cost. If the wheel has spokes that would allow a tape measure or ruler to pass through, you could take the measurement from bead seat to bead seat, which would be the width of rim you need. I have provided a photo and a diagram showing the measurement you will need to take, but it will be...

  • What is the Backspacing of the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20522
The backspacing on the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel, # AM20522, is 3 inches. If you add the wheel flange to the equation the full measurement from the mounting pad to the wheel flange is 3-1/2 inches. All of the trailer wheels we carry have 0 inch offset, see photo, unless otherwise noted on the product page. Trailer wheels are designed with the lug nut mounting pad in the center of the wheel for the best weight carrying capacity. I added an informational article about trailer wheels...

  • What is the Capacity of 15 x 5 Inch Steel Trailer Wheel with 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern AM20443
Regardless how thick the metal is, wheel # AM20443 is rated for 2,150 pounds at 50 psi. Even if the tires are rated higher than that you would still be limited to 2,150 pounds at 50 psi. Wheels tend to have 1/16 to 1/8 inch thick metal but the powder coating makes it difficult to get a true measurement. If you go up to a 15 x 6 inch wheel, # AM20522, it is rated for 2,050 lbs at 75 psi. This wheel will accept 205/75-15 tires and 225/75-15 tires.

  • Need 15 Inch Rim With Positive Offset to Decrease Trailer Width
You'd need to find a wheel with a positive offset, which would move the tire closer to the trailer. If your trailer has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern (see linked FAQ article) we offer a conventional wheel with a positive 1/2 inch offset, part # AM20504. This wheel would decrease the width of your trailer by 1 inch. I might be able to find a wheel with a slightly larger offset, but I'd need to know your wheel bolt pattern. • Recommended Tire and Wheel to Work with My Keystone Outback Travel Trailer
I recommend the BF Goodrich Commercial T/A tire LT235/75/R15/C as it will fit on a 15 x 6 wheel. These are typically traction tires and wouldn't be the best option for a travel trailer. The width of this BF Goodrich tire is 9.2 inches and 28.6 inches overall diameter. It has a max load of 1,985 pounds at 50 psi. On your travel trailer with 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern and upgrading from your 205/75 R14, I recommend the Kenda radial tire # AM32468. It is a 225/75R/15C and has a maximum...

According to my research, a 205/75-15 wheel can be safely mounted on a 5, 5-1/2, 6 or 6-1/2 inch wide wheel, but I'd recommend a 6 inch wide wheel like part # AM20522. Your other rim should have a 6 on 5-1/2 inch bolt pattern, but I'd recommend verifying it by looking at the photo I've provided. A 6 inch rim like part # AM20532 would work well for you. Either...

  • How is Trailer Wheel Width Measured
Wheel width is measured from bead seat to bead seat so you cannot accurately measure it without removing the tire first.
