Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Fantastic quality and delivered as promised! Very pleased! This rim matches my existing camper and fits like a glove. Highly recommend! I will be purchasing again in the future!

Well pleased with my purchase great wheels at a great price glad I shopped handled my question’s and concern’s very professionally without rushing ensuring satisfaction with my purchase.

Very hard to find products like this that are made in USA. Thank you for selling these. These are quality made, and I will be mounting US made Goodyear Endurance tires on them.

Exactly what I needed. This rim heavier duty than the factory version. Will be ordering from etrailer soon.

Great prices and fast shipping. etrailer is my go to place the service is fantastic they are a company that shows that they want your business. Every item that I have ordered has been properly packaged with thick boxes to prevent damage during shipment. Keep up the Great Work....

Well, I think the USA wheel could and should be better than a made in China. That's why I bought it. To support a USA company and their employees. Upon getting them today, first thing I noticed is two wheels per box. I ordered 4 wheels. So two boxes. The wheels were not shipped tightly in this box and rolled around and clunked into each other. There were chips on wheels, paint missing where they collided. Packers need to cover these with bubble wrap and have them secured more. This would be for any wheels. Not just this one. I heard them clang as the UPS delivery guy put them on the ground. This needs improvement immediately. I then took the wheels to Discount tires where I was able to purchase USA made trailer tires. And found that one of the rims was bent. It was still usable but required lots of extra weights to balance it. So I'm giving 4 stars as there needs to be improvement here too. By time I find this out, well its really too late to do anything about it. The chips could have been prevented from better shipping detail to protect them. I'll have to seal them with some primer and paint so they won't rust in those places. I'm normally very happy with my purchases here at etrailer but this time was a bit of a disappointment.

I will have our Customer Service team reach out to you.

etrailer has been great to deal with, past and pres

Great ! No problems working well!
William - 10/02/2021

I never mounted them because I wanted to have them balanced, but there was no way any of the four wheels I purchased could be balanced.

They would be fine for yard debris trailers at the right price point.

On purpose or not, It's not lost on me that the brand name of these wheels is easily mistaken for a very high quality trailer parts company, but don't be mislead.

If you buy new tires for your rims, you can choose to have them balanced if you prefer. Remember that many trailer wheels are centered by the position of the lug bolts - these wheels are lug-centric - and not the center bore of the wheel. For best results, have them balanced using a pin plate adapter. This mimics the way a lug-centric wheel is mounted to a hub.

Great product. Fast service. Easy website to navigate.

Ernie - 10/18/2022

I ordered the wrong wheel size - spoke with Ashley in C.S. and she reordered the correct item and quickly processed a return label for the swap out - I have shopped etrailer parts for many years with the various trailers I have - boat, storage, dump bed styles and they as a rule have the parts i need on hand and ship out quick. Thanks Ashley for your support!

The tires look and fit great. I wasn't sure about ordering these but they are similar to the original but up a size so I could get a little more clearance.

Shipping was fast and I mounted them up. So far, so good.

Everything went well, the items I ordered came when I was told they would and everything was correct. I would definitely order from etrailer again.

Excellent product. Shipping was very fast and wheels were packaged real well

Gets the job done! Needed a mounted spare tire for my utility trailer and filled the need. Always fast service from etrailer and would not hesitate to shop from them again.

The quality control is poor, each one of the 4 wheels has scrapes and chips down to the metal.
I don't believe any were done in transit

I needed a spare wheel for my spare tire for my cargo trailer. Checked etrailer and wheels were listed. I knew I needed a 15" rim, but what wheel pattern? Video tutorial helped choose the correct one, so ordererd. Received wheel about 2 days earlier than scheduled delivery date. Checked wheel on hub.. Perfect fit!

Price, quality, ease of ordering, and timely delivery all made for a great experience.

Supper fast shipping

poorly packed wheels bumping together leaving some nicks on the wheels

As described. Good quality

Great price very professional arrived on time

Fast shipping! Thanks!

  • What Bolt Pattern Does a 15 Inch Trailer Wheel Have
We offer 15" diameter wheels in five different bolt patterns; 4 on 9.44" (uncommon), 5 on 4-1/2" (common), 5 on 4-3/4" (uncommon), 5 on 5" (semi-common), and 6 on 5-1/2" (common). In order to determine which bolt pattern you need, you will need to measure the wheels you have now using the attached photo. If you have the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern which is the most common then I recommend the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel part # AM20422. If you have a different bolt pattern please just...

  • Is it Safe to Change the Wheel and Tire Size on a Trailer or Vehicle
On a trailer it is permissible to change tire sizes provided there is enough clearance all around the old size to use the larger size. On passenger vehicles including motorhomes changing tire sizes will affect the accuracy of the speedometer so it would have to be recalibrated in addition to making sure there is enough clearance.

  • Trailer Tire vs. Trailer Wheel Weight Carrying Ratings
If a trailer tire and wheel each have different weight capacities then the lower-rated item of the two determines the overall capacity of the combination. You can certainly run a tire with a lower or higher weight rating than the wheel its used on but you will be limited to the capacity of the lower-rated component. The key for safe and legal trailering is to ensure that the lowest-rated component is rated adequately for the load on it. Extra capacity in other components is fine but you're...

The first thing you will need to check is if there is enough space around the existing tires to use the larger size. The nearest size up in a 16 would be a 235/80-16 which is 30.9 inches tall and 9.4 inches wide. So the new size would be 2 inches taller and about 3/16 inches wider.
