This light has a standard 3-prong plug that connects to your vehicle or trailer with a PL-3 pigtail adapter. Pick up the right-angle pigtail (421-491 - sold separately) or the straight pigtail (431-491 - sold separately) if you don't have one already.
This light installs in a grommet (426-18 - sold separately) and requires cutting a hole into your trailer if it doesn't already have one.

Today we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Peterson-Lumenx LED Trailer Tail Light. This light's going to give us all our necessary functions like our running lights. Our turn signals and our brake lights. As you can see these LED's are really going to put off a lot of light. Not only help keep you safe but other passengers on the road as well.Now what sets this light apart from any of the others is that it's LED. Those LED's are going to last a lot longer, they're going to be more reliable because you don't have to worry about any brittle filaments like tour traditional incandescent light has.
And because of that there will be a great upgrade from your traditional style incandescence's. They also use less power to work.Now each light is going to have nine diodes and something else that's going to set this apart from other lights is not only it is compatible with 12 volts systems but also 24 volt systems. The light does not come with the plug so depending on which style plug your trailer has already you may or may not have to buy a new one to work with the light. If you need one you can find it on eTrailer.com.All right, here on the back of the light we have our connection points. They do come with dielectric grease already on the contacts.
That way we don't have to worry about it during our install. And there's also raised letter on the back which tells you what each contact point is for. I'll give you a couple of measurements to make sure this will work with your application.The light is 4 1/4" wide and as far as the depth, from here to the end of the plug is 1 11/16" of an inch. Now I'll show you how easy it is to get these lights installed. They are designed to be used with a rubber grommet.
Since we're replacing ours, we're just going to go ahead and put in a new grommet while we're doing that. If you need a new one, or a replacement, you can find one on eTrailer.com.Now I'll show you how easy it is to get this light installed. First we'll take our wiring and feed it through the hole and just plug it into the back of the light. Now all we have to do is push the light into the grommet. These can be a tight fit so if you need to use some spray silicone lubricant or even some soapy water to help you out you can go ahead and do that now and then it will pop right into place.All right, now we can go ahead and put power to the light and make sure all the functions work properly.
Here we have our tail lights, our turn signal, and our brake lights. And that will do it for our look at and installation of the Peterson-Lumenx LED Trailer Tail Light.

The lights look ok, but I haven't gotten them installed yet. My main complaint is the packaging, because everything I ordered was thrown loose into one box. You need to do better to ensure nothing is damaged during shipping.
This is a review of etrailer as the product is 4*. The lights came loose in a box so all 4 lights lenses are scratched. When you spend 16-21$ a light you expect them to handle with care but they don’t.
Exactly what you'd expect. Seems to be a good quality grommet-mount LED light. I used it for a mid-ship marker on a gooseneck.

I installed these in a trailer for a customer with 12-volt and 24-volt towing vehicles. Now they can pull their trailer with either truck and have working lights.
