Features to know about

Brighter and More Efficient Lighting: 18-Diode LED Power

Older trailer lights can be dim or unreliable, but this 4" round red tail light packs 18 high-efficiency LEDs that deliver strong, even illumination. The LED design draws less amperage than standard incandescent lights while lasting much longer, cutting down on maintenance and keeping your electrical system steady. It’s a noticeable upgrade in brightness and reliability that just works every time you hit the brakes or turn signals.

Multi-Function Visibility in One Light: Stop, Turn, and Tail

Instead of juggling multiple lights, this single unit handles all your core functions—stop, turn, and tail—in one clean setup. The integrated design means you get consistent color and brightness across all signal modes, keeping your trailer visible and compliant on the road. It’s a simple way to keep your lighting streamlined without sacrificing safety.

Straightforward Installation: 3-Wire Connection

Wiring doesn’t have to be complicated. This light uses a standard 3-wire connection that’s easy to hook up with common trailer wiring setups. The grommet and plug are sold separately, so you can choose exactly what mounting style fits your project best. Once wired in, the connection stays solid for dependable operation trip after trip.

Solid Build for Everyday Use: 4" Round Housing at 2-1/8" Deep

Built for practicality, this light’s compact 4" round housing fits neatly in standard openings while the 2-1/8" depth gives plenty of room for the LED array inside. It’s designed for long service life in regular road conditions—ideal when you want a durable light that keeps performing without constant attention or replacement bulbs.

Video Transcript for Red Trailer Tail Light, 18 Diode LED, 4" Round Spec Review

Ellen: Hey, everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com, and we're going to be taking a look at the LED stop, turn, and tail light. This is going to make a nice addition to your trailer to have all those functions in one light, and it's going to be an LED light as well, so that means it's going to last a lot longer and be just as bright, if not brighter, than an incandescent bulb while taking much less power. So it's easier to run more of these guys and have a much longer lasting light. Virtually no maintenance with these, because there's no bulbs to change out, no brittle filaments that can break on you. So all in all, a really nice addition to your trailer set up.

To get the power for this, or get it wired up, you will need to get a plug that will fit with this. It doesn't come with one, but you can find an option here at etrailer.com.There's even one listed on the product page as a related part. So that should look something like this guy right here. And just plug that in, and it's going to have all our functions running from that, so just make sure it's all fully seated down in there. And then at the back of that plug, we'll have our three wires.

Black wire is our running light signal, red wire is our brake signal or turn signal or both, and the white wire is our ground. So I turn on my power source, see our running light signal comes on, hit the brakes or the turn signal, and then it goes brighter. Go ahead and turn the lights out in the studio, so you need a better idea of how bright that is. So running lights signal, of course, not super bright, not intended to be. Just enough so that other drivers can see us in the dark when we have our lights on, or when it's raining outside and we have our lights on.Then we turn on the brakes, hit the brakes, hit the turn signal, and it gets brighter.

So much brighter with this signal, travels quite a bit further as it's supposed to. My wires are just getting tangled up here. I'm going to turn my lights back on, unplug this guy, and we can look a little closer at the details of this light. So as I said, it is an LED light. It's going to have a total of 18 diodes.

The outer diameter is about 4 1/4 inches across, 4 1/4 inches in diameter, and then the total depth is about 1 3/4 inches if we go from the front surface of the light to this back little protective bracket here. Just the light is about an inch thick. There is a grommet and a bracket that will fit this.Again, those are listed as related products on the parts page here at etrailer.com, so if you want to get those accessories to go with it, probably a good idea to do it now while you're getting this light. It's covered by a limited lifetime warranty, and that's pretty much all there is to it for our red trailer tail light. I hope this video has been helpful in deciding if this is the right light for you. We do have a lot of other options though here at Etrailer, so check them out if you're interested. Thanks for watching, and we'll see you next time.

Nice upgrade for my work truck. The old lights were faded, can’t have that! Super bright. Worth the money. Highly recommend!
