This light has a standard 3-prong plug that connects to your vehicle or trailer with a PL-3 pigtail adapter. Pick up the right-angle pigtail (A47PB - sold separately) or the straight pigtail (A45PB - sold separately) if you don't have one already.
This light installs in a grommet (A70GB - sold separately) and requires cutting a hole into your trailer if it doesn't already have one.
If you'd rather not cut a hole in your trailer, you can use an optional mounting bracket (BK70BB - sold separately) instead. You will still need the A70GB grommet.

Today we're going to review part number STL70AB. This is the Optronics Flush Mount LED Trailer Turn Signal and Parking Light with the amber lens. Now this amber 6 1/2 inch oval trailer light will serve 2 functions on your trailer. It will provide a parking light and a turn signal light. This light does meet the Department of Transportation requirements in any 360-degree position. Now this is a great replacement for incandescent lights, the LED lights.
There's no bulbs to replace, no brittle filaments to break. As you can see this is a sealed, waterproof housing and lens unit. It does have 56 LEDs with the amber lens. Now this will conveniently accept the industry standard 3-prong plugs, we do sell that separately, and to flush mount it also requires a grommet and a bracket and I am going to show you all those parts here. Now we do sell those parts separately on our website and they're usually listed on the product page for this light as related products. What I'm going to start with is they have the straight 3-wire pigtail right here.
This is part number A45PB. Basically what you're going to do is line the plugs up, plug it in, and it's called a straight because if you'll notice the wires come straight out the back of the light. Now they do offer another 3-wire plug and this is if there's any clearance problems behind your light. They do offer this when it's the right angle 3-wire pigtail plug. It's A47PB. What this one does is you'll notice when you plug it in, line your holes up, there you go.
You'll notice it's a right angle because the wires will come out at a right angle to the light. Now the grommet that is used is part number A70GB and basically you just take your light, pop it right into the grommet just like that and then the last part is the mounting bracket, this metal mounting bracket. You can see it mounts to the vehicle or the trailer. This is part number BK70BB and basically you just pop the grommet right into that opening, push it in all the way. It snaps into place.
Again those parts are all related products listed on this product page. Okay, a few dimensions on this light. I'm going to give you the overall length edge to edge. You'll be looking at right at 6 1/2 inches. The height on it, bottom to top, is going to be right at 2 1/4 inches, and the depth at the narrowest part is going to be right at about an inch and an 8th, and that at the very other end where they have this plastic housing that comes up over the plug, you're right at about an inch and 7/8ths, that depth right there. Now the power draw at 12.8 volts for this light on the turn signal is .362 amps. On the parking light it's .54 amps, and the warranty is lifetime on the LEDs. What I'm going to do now is take one of the plugs and we're going to plug it in. I'm going to hook it up to a 12-volt power supply to show you the brightness and the functions of the light. The 3 wires you can see, the white wire with the eyelet is for ground, the red and the black are your power, the red would be your turn signal and your black would be your parking light. I'm going to go ahead and hook this up and we'll go ahead and once I get this all hooked up we'll go ahead and turn off our overhead lights. There we go. I'm going to go ahead and turn on the 12-volt power and you'll be able to see there is your parking light function with all the LEDs on and then your turn signal function, so you're very bright for the turn signals. Okay, I'll go ahead and turn off our power, turn back on our overhead lights. That should do it for the review on part number STL70AB. This is the Optronics Flush Mount LED Trailer Turn Signal and Parking Light with the amber lens. .
