Uneven campsites aren’t a problem with the built-in landing gear. Each leg adjusts to fine-tune height and keep the stairs level from 19-7/8" to 27-3/8", while the wide rectangular footplates stay solid on soft or sloped ground. The result is a steady feel underfoot instead of the flex or bounce of typical hanging steps.
The pull-out booster step transforms this 2-step design into a 3-step setup for higher entries. A simple lever releases the booster, giving you a comfortable 7-1/2" drop between steps. It’s a quick way to make climbing in and out easier without carrying an extra stool or accessory.
Glow tape on the sides of each step charges in just 5 minutes of light and glows for up to 10 hours. It clearly outlines the steps at night, so you can see exactly where to place your foot. Combined with the SureGrip tread, it gives confident footing even when you’re returning late or in low light.
The aircraft-grade aluminum construction keeps these steps lightweight, rustproof, and strong, with a 375 lb weight capacity. Stainless steel hinges are bolted together for easy replacement of a single step if needed. Bushing bearings make the action smooth and long-lasting, so deploying and folding the steps feels solid every time.
When it’s time to travel, the scissor steps fold up and latch right into the doorway. A locking tab on the side bracket keeps them from accidentally deploying, while keeping dirt and debris outside. The entire setup mounts in the doorframe, so there’s no step well taking up space underneath.

Everyone. I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com, and today we're taking a look at the TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Uprising. These are going to be RV steps that are going to be a specially designed for those campers or RVs that don't already have a step well or a little spot for the steps to go underneath the entryway. So these are going to actually fold up into your RV's entryway and stay stored whenever you're in transport, and then whenever you're ready to actually get in and out, you can flip them down and then walk up like you normally would.Now, I have two of these laid out here. Basically, the reason why is because we'll have two different sizes. We'll have one that's going to be 28 inches wide for the 28 inch entryway and then when that's for a 24 inch wide entryway.
Everything else is the same besides that, with the entry height that it works with, the weight ratings, all that good stuff. So I just wanted to show you both what it looks like whenever you have an expanded out and then what did it look like whenever you have it kind of tipped up into that entryway.So it does mount to the frame of your entryway, and the really nice thing about the TorkLift GlowSteps is that they're going to be a very solid step. So typically with your OEM RV steps, they have that kind of springboard effect where that last step is just kind of floating in the air and now you've got to kind of spring off of it onto the ground. Not the safest, not the most stable, kind of hard on your back and your knees.That gap can sometimes be a little high, so you have to have an extra step stool, things like that. We don't have to worry about that with these steps.
Since they do make contact with the ground via these little landing feet, they're actually going to create a really stable connection between your doorway and the ground, so you don't have to worry about any of those issues.Now, I have mine just kind of precariously resting up here. Whenever this is installed, this portion would actually be sitting level over your threshold, but even so this is still really solid and really sturdy. There is no shaking or moving of these steps. They're really well made. A nice aircraft grade aluminum for the step plates themselves, so they're going to be nice, bright, easy to spot, no rusting or corrosion, pretty lightweight as well.
There's also a little bit of this glow tape on either side, hence the GlowStep name, and that helps you to see them even in the dark so you're not having to kind of guess where the next step is.So I really like these. I think they're very solid. I liked that the weight capacity is about 375 pounds, so plenty for most people out there. It's a very solid, secure step, and you can also really adjust these. So we'll have those landing feet as I mentioned.
These can be raised and lowered on inch increments up to seven and a half feet. And then we'll also have this kind of bonus step at the bottom.So since I just have this kind of precariously set up here, I'm not going to flip it out, but basically there's a little lever down here at the bottom. So if you we're to lift this up, pull that lever out, you convert this from a two step to a three step. The reason why that's really nice is because if you're kind of on the edge of the entry height requirement, you'll have an extra step when you need it and it's not there when you don't. So it gives you kind of that in between height that you might need.If you are going to need three steps all the time, it might get a little annoying to have to flip that out every time you undo your steps. It can be used as a three step every day, but that's just one of the things that you . Instead of having to have that little extra movement every time you under your steps, you'll just have the two. So that's kind of the reason why this is only going to be classified as a two step here at etrailer.com versus a three step. It's like a two step plus.So between that extra step and our landing gear, each one of those individually gives us seven and a half inches total of height. So we'll have up to 15 inches of adjustment for the height of our steps. That way we can get them leveled out. The landing feet can be adjusted independently, so even if you're on kind of uneven terrain, you can get that leveled out so you have a nice solid connection between you and the ground.A couple of other things that I like about these, that again, it does just ride inside our vehicle so we don't have to worry about making any modifications underneath the RV. You do have to screw in that hardware to get it installed, but pretty easy to use. It's lightweight enough that whenever you pull it out, it's not going to slam on the ground, but it's not so loose that it's going to hit you in the face or anything like that.The connections, all our pivot points here, are going to be bolted rather than riveted so it gives you that nice, easy motion. You can also kind of adjust that so if it starts to loosen up over time, you can crank down a little bit on that hardware to tighten it up. And also if anything we're to happen to one of these steps, you can replace them individually, so you don't have to worry about getting a whole new unit. If one step is bent or damaged, you can just replace that damaged step or any of the hardware in between. Also in the future if you decide that you do need that extra third step all the time, you can add one end. So it makes it really nice to adapt to whatever situation you might have in the future.Now as far as the other specs with this, it does have an entry height. It's recommended for up to 19 and 7/8ths inches to 27 and 3/8ths inches, so any entry height in between there. And that's going from the ground to the bottom edge of the threshold, or the ground of the threshold there. You want to make sure that you have at least 3/8ths inches of clearance in between your thresholds and the bottom of your door. That's to make sure that it can pass over this top plate so that there's no issues there.We'll also have a step width, or the usable step here. For our 28 inch wide entry, the actual usable step is going to be 23 inches wide, and then for our smaller 24 inch entryway model, it's going to be 18 and a half inches wide for that usable step. It's a little harder to see since the steps are on the other side, but that's how wide it's going to be there.The depth of each are our steps is going to be eight inches front to back, and then the rise is just seven and a half inches. So that's pretty comparable to a lot of steps in your home. It's not too big of a jump, so it shouldn't be too hard on bad knees or bad backs or anything like that.There's also a lot of accessories that you can get to go with the TorkLift GlowSteps, including a boot brush, panels that can go here and kind of close up that gap to make it easier for pets to go up the stairs without getting spooked by seeing through them. You can also get a hand rail and pretty much all of those just attached to the hardware on the side. The weight capacity again is 375 pounds. Comes with a limited lifetime warranty from TorkLift, and they are made in the USA.One other thing I want to point out is that this actually has some sure step grooves, and the top of the step will also have this kind of sandpapery material up here so we don't have to worry about slipping and sliding on our steps. All in all, I really like these. I think they're a great advantage for your RV, and they should make getting in and out of breeze. It's rare when something on the Internet lives up to the hype, but these really do. I have a 5th-wheel that's pretty tall and I need the 5-step model of the GlowSteps.I was initially concerned that they would flex but they really don't; they are remarkably solid! I've had several RV sites that were not very level and these accommodate every site I've been -- that "hidden step" has come in handy a time or two.
The reason I initially bought these is because the 5th-wheel is so close to a fence when parked at home that I was unable to open the "drawbridge" type stairs that came with it -- I literally couldn't get into my new RV until I switched out the stairs! I was able to remove the drawbridge stairs and install these all from outside the camper.
I've found that these are better than a drawbridge type anyway because of how versatile they are with unlevel/uneven ground. These make for a flat, stable and safe stairway everywhere I've gone so far.
Shorter riser on steps is exactly what we needed much easier for us seniors to climb stairs
I used these steps to replace the solid steps that came with our fifth wheel. The version of solid steps we had did not have a hydraulic lift kit available at the time and it was almost impossible for my wife to lower them. These were easy to install and now everyone can lower or raise them, since they are a lot more manageable. They can be used in tight areas like our storage lot or rest areas. Also I leave them out while hitching up, since they have enough play to raise and lower without binding (Not sure if that is a recommend use). I have had them for a year now with no issues or regrets.
We bought Torklift Glowstep Revolution steps from etrailer.com for our previous 2016 Rockwood 8329SS, which had a stepwell. We have now traded for a 2019 Flagstaff 8321KBS (Forest River twins: same trailers and floorplan, made in same factory, different brand names, which doesn't have a stepwell to mount the Glowstep Revolution steps, so we had to order the Glowstep Revolution UPRISING steps for the Flagstaff, also from etrailer. The Flagstaff came factory equipped with the swing-out SolidSteps that fold upwards into the doorway, and there isn't room in our RV garage to open these steps. The Torklift Glowstep Revolution UPRISING steps were our only option if we wanted to gain access to the interior of our trailer while in the garage. Unlike the Rockwood, we had no stepwell in which to install the Glowstep Revolution steps, as we installed on the Rockwood. Like the Lippert Solidsteps, they also swing up to store upside down inside the doorway, but the folded stack of 5 steps is only about 2 feet high when folded and stored inside. Torklift Glowsteps can be used to gain access into a travel trailer in any "tight" place. They can be extended straight down and used like a ladder, if need be. I have disabilities, but the UPRISING steps were easier for me to install, because all the work was at waist level, instead of under the stepwell. The steps attach to the trailer doorframe with 6 bolts. You do have to do some precise measuring before you drill those 6 holes. It was tedious work to mark the holes, but not difficult. The UPRISING steps have a "booster" step under the bottom step that will fold out if the terrain surrounding the trailer is lower than the surface the wheels are parked on, and we have camped in sites that did require folding out the "booster" (5th) step, making a separate 4-legged platform unnecessary. All in all, we like the UPRISING steps just as much or better than the regular Torklift Glowstep Revolution steps that store in a stepwell. At 70 and 71, with my wife's "trick" hip and my "bum" knees, the 7 1/2-inch rise of Torklift's "scissoring" steps make it MUCH easier for us to get into and out of our RV than SolidSteps, Step Above, or factory hanging steps. Don't be worried about any minor 'flexing" of the steps when using them. You don't feel it, and Torklift has been making these steps for truck campers for a long, long time. However, we will be purchasing the Torklift "quick-connect" railing system soon. I am taller than my wife, and have little balance problems with them at this time, but with the 5th "booster" step deployed, my wife feels she may lose her balance if she doesn't go slowly and hang on to the door. It IS a "long way" to the ground when the "booster" step is deployed, and just this elevation can make some people feel uneasy without a railing for "reassurance". Even if we didn't have the clearance problem with the SolidSteps or Step Above steps in our garage, we still prefer the Torklft Glowsteps because of the reduced "rise" between steps. Family members have both of the other "swing-out" steps on their RVs, and it is MUCH harder for us to climb OR descend the others. The Glowsteps are somewhat more expensive than the others (the others don't FOLD), but we have NO regrets about the cost. Unfortunately, I don't have any photos of the installation at this time. We have been working on "personalizing" this new trailer to the extent that we had done on the 2016, and we have been busy! lol
Just what we needed. We have a tight fit for our 5th wheel in our side yard. Now we can get in without having to hook up and move it to the street
Easy to install. Just make sure if you have any drawers by the doorway, clear the lift brackets. I had to trim my cabinet drawer, which was no big deal.
Steps work great. Entry is a breeze.
These were a replacement for the Morryde steps, which were just a little to short for my 5th wheel. These steps are great and much more functional than the MorRydes were. Awesome product. Thanks Etrailer!
This is one of the best products I’ve purchased. I replaced my Step-Above steps (<1 year old) with Torklift because of weight and ease of use...the coach parked next to me in storage never allowed enough room without pulling out my Solitude when gaining access. The install was a snap it took less than and hour with my buddy Tom. Matt at etrailor was top notch and helped coordinate the delivery while we were on the road. Five star rating for service, product and installation.
Very well made steps. Took me about an hour to remove the old Moryde step above steps and install these in their place. Will definitely take care of my clearance issues. The box that the steps came in was decimated but all the parts were there and nothing was bent. Perhaps you could use a heavier cardboard packaging because one of the other channel guys said his packaging was totaled.
Fast delivery! Easy to installed, very stable! A little heavy to lift when folding up to store, but not horrible. Makes getting in and out of our 5th wheel much easier and safer!!
We LOVE our TorkLift Revolution steps. Our New Horizons fifth wheel sits pretty high off the ground, and having the Booster Step on the 5-step model has been great. We use that extra step more often than not. The steps are easy to pull out and put back in. And the glow squares are great when we're camping in a "Dark Sky" location. They're unobtrusive, but help us find our way in the dark. We have two of these, one for each entry door on our toyhauler. We've also used them like a ladder when stopping in tight places or on the side of the road where it slopes away too fast to put the stairs out. Very versatile and well-made, we highly recommend. In the photos, the back door has the 24" steps with the extra step not in use, and the front door (side with awnings) has the 28" steps with the extra step extended.
These steps were purchased to replace a factory set of MorRyde Step Above steps - excellent steps but with a fixed length. The fixed length did not allow us to get inside our trailer inside the storage barn.
The TorkLift steps are more flimsy (they flex) and don't have the side support of the MorRyde steps. The way they mount inside the door is not as robust as the MorRyde steps. To get a comforable angle we have to use the pull out bottom step everywhere we go (improved campgrounds) and those adjustable posts on the front corners will trip you all the time. The "glow" aspect doesn't apply to us because we use covers on the steps which covers them. The grooves in the steps are so aggresive they would grab our dog's claws (we keep them clipped). The big thing, and the reason they're still on, is that I can adjust them in the barn and get into the RV. If the ability to adjust the length wasn't so important I would put the MorRyde steps back on.
This is our second set of TorkLift steps that we have. We liked them so much on our old rv we had to get a set for the new rv.
Much more versatile than the Moryde steps I had before. Bonus is now I can deploy the steps when I'm parked in my storage unit. These are well made right here in the USA and were easy to install. The only slight downside is they are a bit heavierbut doable for the wife.
I’ve installed these steps into my 2023 Alliance Avenue. And it was super easy to do. The steps helped a lot with the bouncing as I was walking in and out of the 5th wheel while my wife was still sleeping in the mornings.
Pretty easy to install. It makes getting into the trailer possible regardless of how close the parking is. They are pretty stable as well. Only negatives are that the spring loaded pin you have to press in to adjust the height of the steps can be really hard to press while trying to raise the legs. And the bottom step latch doesn’t release easily.
The product is a good replacement for the steps on my RV. Installation was pretty easy. One of the screws that attach the steps to the inside of the door frame was the wrong thread. Fortunately, my "parts box" contained a correct replacement, saving me a trip to the hardware store. Thank you for your quick delivery.
Simple to install and love the lower rise height. Did have to do a little dremel work on a slooooopy weld that kept the stairs from deploying. Very pleased, now to see how well they "ride" inside. Great replacement for my Lippert Solid 2 step.
No regrets...have zero complaints...this was one of the best mod's we have done.
This step works as advertised it allows me to get into my ditch wheel where I have it parked on side of garage in a tight space so I can get in and out with ease. Before I had a step that need 3-4 foot opening to get steps down, no I only need space to unfold steps. Awesome product worth the investment.
These stairs are a great upgrade over the factory floating style stair. The installation was very easy and took less than hour including time to get tools out and put them away. The steps easily fold in and out and have smooth operation.
My trailer was towards the upper end of the 4 step height range, time will tell if they are tall enough or if I should of gone with the 5 step version.
As a note the box used to ship the stairs was not up to the task and arrived heavily damaged. The box had no reinforced corners and the stairs were just wrapped with some paper. Luckily they arrived undamaged.

Deck height: 38”, installed TorkLift GlowStep Revolution Uprising Steps with booster step (model A9005)
Pros:
* installation was straight forward
* Rock solid when using 4 steps. Ok, but less solid when 5th (booster) step is deployed. Steps are a bit steep with our 38” deck when not using the booster step so we wind up deploying it more often than not when set up at a campsite.
* You can fold these steps down anywhere there is room to fully open the trailer door. This is why we bought them … got a new “neighbor” where we store it and were no longer able to get into the trailer to load, unload, work on it, etc. The 4 step “drawbridge” extended too far out when swinging down.
Cons:
* heavyish … more effort to deploy than our lift-assisted SolidStep. Probably not much different than a SolidStep that doesn’t have lift assist, but I can’t say for sure.
* Not as solid as the SolidStep, particularly with the 5th step deployed. I don’t consider these an upgrade in our case, but they did solve our problem. I do not regret the purchase. I do feel that these would be an upgrade from traditional fold out RV stairs.
These are OK. They accomplished what I needed them for to be able to open put them out in my indoor storage unit. I am really having trouble getting them to align properly though. Now matter what I do, the legs rub against the left side of the door frame. I have everything centered and I have tried the alignment steps of the install multiple times, but still rub. They are pretty heavy and cumbersome to put out and in compared to the drawbridge steps. My wife likely will not do it anymore. LOL. But like I said, at least I can get into my trailer while in storage now. They are adequate quality, but kind of a high price tag for what you get IMO.
