License Plate Light for Enclosed Cargo Trailer License Plate Holder
The opening at the top of license plate bracket # LP35BB is fairly small and not necessarily designed for a light. The light you put in there would have to be very small. I recommend just attaching a basic light like # LP81BB to the top of the bracket. I have included a link to a video review for you.

How to Replace the Light Bulb of the Ear Mount, Plastic Trailer License Plate Light # LP81BB
To get to the bulb to allow you to replace it you will need to drill out the rivets so that you can access the backside of the Ear Mount, Plastic Trailer License Plate Light # LP81BB where you will be able to remove the bulb from the housing and replace it. To reinstall the bracket I would recommend you use nuts and bolts instead of rivets in case the bulb breaks in the future. For a replacement bulb you would want the part # A194B.

Is the LED Trailer License Plate Light LPL11CB Available in Black
The LED Trailer License Plate Light with Chrome Housing part # LPL11CB is not offered with a black housing however, we do have similar license plate lights with a black housing, part # LPL82CBB (LED) and part # LP81BB (incandescent). You could also paint the LED Trailer License Plate Light with Chrome Housing black as well but it does not come this way. I wish I had a better option for you. If you already have a hole drilled for the round light, the base on either of the above options...

License Plate Light With Bracket and Housing
There is currently no gasket that is available for use but we do have an option. I highly recommend one of the following full assemblies, which include the bracket and housing with the light in place: Trailer License Plate Light with Housing and Mounting Bracket # LP81BB, LED Trailer License Plate Light # LPL82CBB or Optronics LED Trailer License Plate Light Kit with Bracket # LPL12CKM2B. What Size Fastener Fits License Plate Light LP31CB
At most you would use 1/4 inch screws with license plate light # LP31CB. A 10mm would be too large. Generally speaking 1/4 inch is about as large as you can go on most license plate lights. We have # LP81BB which does have a separate ground wire though you could ground it right at the mounting hole using the screw used to mount the light (either side).

Recommended Mounting Hardware For Trailer Lights
I recommend using self tapping screws to install the Oblong Trailer Clearance, Side Marker Light, 1 Wire - Amber # MC68AB, the Right Fender Clearance Trailer Light, Prewired - Amber and Red # BA44FNR or # BA44FNL, and the Trailer License Plate Light with Housing and Mounting Bracket - Clear Lens - Black Base # LP81BB. For these installations you can use Self-Tapping Screw - 1/4" -14 x 3/4" Long - Zinc # FA1131822, which is corrosion resistant and has a hex-washer-head less likely to strip.

How to Access Bulb on License Plate Light LP81BB
Bulb access for license plate light # LP81BB is at the back of the assembly. You will have to unscrew it to access the back and the bulb. But LED bulbs are expensive and you can same money by replacing the one you have with # LPL55CB.
