I just received this plate mount. Is the slit opening just above the top of the plate there so I can hide a plate light inside this thing? If so where do I get the light that fits?

The opening at the top of license plate bracket # LP35BB is fairly small and not necessarily designed for a light. The light you put in there would have to be very small.
I recommend just attaching a basic light like # LP81BB to the top of the bracket. I have included a link to a video review for you.
