  The mounting hole dimensions of A-frame jacks are a standard 3 inches apart on center, so you will need to weld your new jack on.   Is the jack overloaded which is causing the excessive amperage draw? What jack do you have? Can you see an amperage rating on it anywhere which would give you an idea what it should be drawing?
