Corrosion Resistance for Marine Use

This trailer hub assembly has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it ideal for use on your boat or snowmobile trailer. All GAL-DEX hubs undergo a test in which they are sprayed with a 5-percent salt solution to determine corrosion resistance over time. These products are able to withstand 500 hours of constant exposure to the saltwater mist. This 500-hour salt spray rating indicates that a product is not only durable enough to last in freshwater environments, but it can also be used on trailers that come into contact with saltwater

E-Z Lube-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

So far, so good. Absolutely no issues after approximately 1 year.

by:

Had to wait a few days for etrailer to get these plated hubs back in stock, but when they arrived installation was what you'd expect. Quality seems very good, and made in USA (bonus). These are Dexter brand hub/drums. Time will tell if the plating will make any difference on my boat trailer application. Originals were not plated and were ugly/rusty, but also 30 years + old so I opted to replace vs have them turned / wire-brush and paint. Glad I waited.

by:

Had them for about a year. Work great. They have been holding up to the saltwater. Don't see a spot of rust. And I never wash them off after pulling my boat out.

by:

All parts were received and in new condition. The packaging was perfect. I will not install the brakes for another few days so rating performance is out for now.
etrailer was prompt in shipping and answered my questions by email and phone.

by:

Timely delivery, all parts were a perfect fit brake drums bearings and seals with instructions! No issues. Very reputable! Thanks again!! Satisfied customer

by:

These drums are nice made in the USA parts with every thing you need to install them for half the money you would pay at a trailer shop.
Shipped to my door and package so they weren't all beat to crap when I received them.
Nice job etrailer.

by:

Excellent product availability. Website is very easy to navigate, descriptions are spot on. Shipping is very fast and usually have my products in 3 days or less! Not to mention excellent and competitively priced. Very happy with all orders!

by:

Great quality. Seem very sturdy. Holding up so far after one seasons worth of use on my boat trailer.

by:

great products, great price and even better customer service and shipping!

by:

Hub looks great but I will replace the no-name bearings with Timkens.

  • Replacement Trailer Brake Assembly Recommendation for Trailer with EZ Lube 3500 Axles
If you have a 3,500 lb Dexter EZ Lube spindle we for sure have the parts needed to add brakes to your trailer or replace ones that you currently have. For a set of 10 inch assemblies that would fit and work well you'd want the part # AKEBRK-35-SA which will fit both sides and work well. If you have something different going on email me back and I'll help you further.

To convert your 8-247 Dexter hubs # 84546UC3 from hydraulic to electric, you can simply use the same hubs if they are in good shape. If you don't need to replace them, I recommend updating the bearings and seal since you have them apart. For your inner bearing you want # L68149, for your outer bearing # L44649, and then grease seal # 58846. Then for the brake assemblies, I recommend the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Kit - 10" - Left and Right Hand Assemblies - 3.5K # 23-468-469...

Hello Nicole, When I look at the brake assembly you found, the Dexter Nev-R-Adjust Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - 12" - Right Hand - 7,000 lbs # 23-465 it tells me that you have a 7,000 pound axle, but I am going to need so more information in order to find you the right hub. The 11033L hub shown in your photo was manufactured by Tie Down Engineering, or TDE. What you have there is a hub for a standard 3500 lb axle which has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern.
