Question:

Hi, I am looking to buy a trailer hitch for my new 2022 Toyota Prius. I was looking at your installation videos and they only go up to 2019 for the Prius, yet you do sell trailer hitches for the 2022 Toyota Prius. So my question to you is are coming out with a new video or the existing video for the 2019 is good? Thanks, and by the way, I hope that the paint quality has improved, the hitch that I bought from you 4 years ago for my previous car was all rusted out, even tough I live in Raleigh NC, where we just about have no winters, no salt on the roads and the car is always garaged.

I'm so sorry to hear about the paint coat on your hitch!

We have two hitch options for your 2022 Toyota Prius. Since it sounds like you are looking for the best quality coating on your hitch, I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11473. The Curt hitch has a gloss overcoat over the base powder coat that provides you more protection against rust and corrosion than the EcoHitch - 2" # EH53VR. However, if you want a higher overall weight capacity as well as the compatibility with a wider range of accessories, I recommend going with the # EH53VR over the # C11473.

As far as installation videos, you are correct that we do not have any videos for the 2022 model Prius. This is because our installation team has not had the chance to record a neighbor install on this new model. For the # C11473, the installation of the hitch on a 2019 model is very similar to what you will experience on your 2022. Also, you will receive current instructions that come with the hitch when you are ready to install. Unfortunately, we have not had the opportunity to install the # EH53VR on any compatible vehicle.
