Hi George!
We say installing the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4" # C11473 on a 2018 Toyota Prius will typically take around 2 hours to complete.
Now keep in mind, this is loosely based off an average skill level, so it may go faster or it may take a little longer. The install is a fairly involved one, but there is no drilling through the frame required for the installation. However, underbody panels/fascia must be temporarily loosened or removed and trimming will be needed to reattach those panels/fascia. You will also be removing the bumper beam, but that will be reinstalled (the hitch goes between it and the mounts on the body).
It's definitely a bit of work and a helper will make it easier, but it is something that can be done by the vast majority of handy people. I did include an install video we have of this going onto a 2018 Prius as well. It should help.
What are you planning on using the hitch for once it's installed?
