This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Probably would have gave five stars but I was unaware that the actual hitch itself doesn't come with a ball attached to it. You have to buy the ball separately. I thought the ball came on a hitch or at least a standard ball came on a hitch. I guess I should have looked into it a little more. It's not a big deal but now I I have to chase down a ball. Other than that, installation was straightforward and the hitch and frame seem heavy duty. The wiring harness I ordered also seems pretty heavy duty and should prevent any shorts in the system
fit perfect simple install, well made. i have bought several items including tires for my 36’ 5th wheel travel trailer in 2012 been all over the USA coast to coast 2X north to south 3X and they still look good
Yes! Town Car owners like to pull trailers with their Lincolns!
If I had to change one thing to make this into a 5-Star product, it would be the length of the "2-inch" receiver square tube. It needs to extend rear-ward by an additional 2 inches. I had to hunt for a ball mount hitch that was 2 inches longer to adequate give clearance from the rear bumper. The dual exhaust tailpipe hangars didn't need to be touched for the Town Car. Two photos attached - I hope this helps. The photo shows a ball mount with 2-3/4 inch rise to give bottom of coupler 14 inches over the ground.
Install was easy once I figured out how to use the wire that comes with it to pull the bolts through the holes. The hitch itself is very nice no issues.
The trailer hitch is a great product
The quality of the hitch seems very good. The finish is thick and being in Canada with salt on the roads, it should stay rust free for awhile. Mounting the hitch on my 1988 Ford Crown Vic went well. There were no holes in the frame so I had to drill all 4 holes. At the holes near the end of the frame I could not use the supplied bolts due to the way the shocks on the bumper went inside the end of the frame. All in all it was an easy install with the car on a hoist and a helping hand from my brother.

So far so good!
Installed on a 2008 Ford Police Interceptor. The end result was excellent. The hitch is hidden except for the square part in the middle that you would use for a hook up. I bought this trailer hitch not for towing, but to install a thing called a "superbumper" which absorbs impact from rear end collisions. My last vehicle was hit in the front and the rear by two separate drivers in the same week. I wanted to make sure I protected the rear of my police interceptor (I already installed a push bar on the front). To install the Curt trailer hitch, I used the help of a standard scissors jack (hitch is heavy). I put the scissors jack on the driver side and jacked up the left side of the hitch. Once that was jacked up I held up the right side of the hitch with my hands. Then I marked a hole with a pen. I put the hitch down and drilled the first hole. Once that was drilled I screwed the right side of the hitch to the frame. Now I drilled the second hole and screwed that in too. I then moved to the left side of the hitch (still held up by the scissors jack). I drilled two holes on this side. I ran into a little trouble with a bar that is above the frame, so I had to make the rear left hole a little bigger to fit the screw in aside of the bar. Last step was to put the screw in the last hole. The hitch was then perfectly lined up and installed. Here are four tips that will help with the install. Use a scissors jack instead of clamps (it allows you to line up the hitch perfectly onto the frame). Use a small pilot drill bit and gradually drill bigger holes until you drill a half inch hole (I used four drill bits per hole). Make your holes a little bigger than a half inch for ease getting the screws in (I pushed a smaller drill bit onto the sides of the holes to make more space). Wear nitrile gloves and safety goggles when installing (the metal shards from the frame a hot). I highly recommend this Curt Trailer Hitch.
worked out fine and easy
Excellent - I was impressed with the quality, engineering and detail.
The package - CURT hitch, 4-pole hard-wire kit, 4-pole to 7-pole adapter, extended ball mount, ball & pin was installed on my prized 89 Ford LTD Crown Victoria.
I installed it by myself, without a helping hand, and once I got all the tools together it did take longer than the estimated 45 minutes - I would double that to 90 minutes.
Once I had the rear up on stands, I positioned the hitch under the frame by suspending one end with a hanger wire, then the other end. I snugged the hitch up to the frame with a floor jack and double checked the alignment. From there it was a breeze - Drilled the 4 holes, snaked the bolts into place, and torqued to specs.
Highly recommend CURT hitches & etrailer for all your trailer needs.
When I received the hitch and wiring kit there was a hole in the bottom of the box and half the staples were pulled loose. After opening the box the rest of the way the small box inside containing the wiring kit was open and the wire connectors and the bubble pack wiring kit were laying loose inside the larger carton. It will be installed on Friday and I hope that none of the pieces laying losses by the hole in the box fell out. See pictures. The first one I bought was excellent, I hope this one is as well!
Mounted great. Rear bolts were a little tricky but receiver is solid.
I installed this on my 2004 Ford Crown Victoria. It fit perfectly. It really was as easy to install as they said. I did it myself in my driveway and it took me about one hour using a floor jack to hold it up in place. The only problem I ran into was the holes nearest the bumper. There is a cylinder from the 5mph bumper that made getting the rear bolts in place kind of difficult. You have to wiggle them around to get them in place and I would recommend going up in size on the drill bit for all the holes.
Hitch fit like a glove and I installed it in 30 minutes.
I installed this on a Limo to haul a small trailer to hold extra luggage.
I have also towed jet skis on Millionaire Monday with a group of guys to see how many looks we would get cruising down the highway. We had several cars passing us taking pictures.
Fast shipping and great product! Love these Curt hitches.
This was an upgrade from a class 1 to a class 3 hitch for my Crown Victoria.
The front holes lined up perfectly! Only had to drill out two more holes for the rear mounts. Didn't need any spacers. Hitch looks great!
Hardest part of the install was trying to drill through the frame! Make sure you get the strongest drill bits you can. Hitch lasted longer than my transmission! Best you can get for these crown vics/panther bodies.
There was paint chipped off if the hitch just under the receiver hole about the size of a quarter. Not pleased with that. But other then that it got here just in time to install and I could pull a float in my hometown parade. It fit perfect on my 2002 ford crown Victoria (retired police interceptor. Thank you etrailer.com
Arrived in a couple of days, install on my 01 P71 Crown vic was exactly as described on the very helpful videos. Looks and works great! Now I can haul the racecar to the track!
[online] installed this (onto a 2004 Lincoln Town Car) for us for my mother's motorized wheelchair lift. It's been working great with no problems. It's super sturdy, I was rear-ended a few months ago, the wheelchair lift was damaged beyond repair, but this hitch wasn't damaged at all. I have no complaints.
Easy installation. Excellent product.
The product is very good, it fits perfectly to my vehicle, is light and very easy to install.
I will use it with a tow bar to tow another vehicle from Aurora Colorado to Chihuahua, Mexico.
Fast shipping and arrived in great shape.Installation was straight forward I would suggest you start out with a new good quality bit Thankfully only 4 holes to drill not bad!
Hello,
I bought this class 3/4 hitch for my 2010 Crown Vic. It had some minor fit issues, but nothing that wasn't overcome fairly quickly. The only issue was with the nut plate that required getting creative at the bumper end to try and hold while torquing. The nut plate needs to be fitted a bit better so it does not spin in the tube. the front end was fine as the tube is narrower and the nut plate was held in place by the tube. The design required every shim to be used to level the hitch. Everything I needed was in the kit, which was good.

The hitch has performed flawlessly. I would suggest two things. One, for this particular installation, a wider bolt pate would be useful to assist in tightening the rear bolts. I had to use a screwdriver to prevent the bolt plate from turning to tighten it. Second, You should add a warning to re-torque the bolts after using it the first time to ensure it is still tight. On mine, both rear bolts had seated with movement and, partially because that bolt plate mentioned earlier, it allowed it loosen slightly. That was with just 28 hours of hauling. For anyone that has done any installations, they know to re check, but thats not always true.
Good product. A little bit of a pain to mount by one’s self but it’s all good
Great product had a great price. Installation on my Crown Vic was simple, had it installed in about a half hour. Will definitely buy from you guys again.
Good quality part.. Fairly easy in install. It took a bout 30 minutes once I got all the tools out
