Correct 4-Way Wiring Harness for 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid SX Prestige

Updated 09/29/2025 | Published 09/08/2025

Question:

I recently bought a 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid SX Prestige and am looking for the correct wiring/lighting set up. Looking to haul small trailers and need to be able to use brake lights, turn indicators, etc. I can get a hitch through my local U-Haul but they told me they’ve had issues getting compatible wiring. I’ve looked at numerous forums online and seen a number of different part numbers so figured I’d ask directly. I also looked underneath the driver side rear wheel plastic cap and did not seeing any loose connectors that would indicate a “towing package”. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!

Hi Bryce; U-Haul probably tried to use the Curt # C63RV which does not fit hybrid or SX models of the 2025 Sorento. None of the manufacturers make a custom wiring harness so the only option is a universal splice-in like # C59236 or the # 119250KIT which clamps onto your vehicle wiring.

If you decide to pick up a hitch through us you can use the Curt # C37RV. For a ball mount that will work with a variety of trailers check out the # e66PR. This has a 6” rise or drop for different trailer heights and a 2" and 2-5/16" ball.

Hi Bryce, did you have a chance to try the universal splice-in wiring options like the Curt Powered Tail Light Converter? I'm curious if it worked out for your Sorento Hybrid, as it could help others with similar towing needs.

@RobinH no we did not end up doing it. It seemed like a bigger project that I was willing to take on…if there was a universal adapter I would have tried that but splicing into existing wires isn’t something I’m comfortable doing. Also, my wife’s car has a slightly higher towing capacity, so we will likely end up using her vehicle instead.
