I originally thought this would work for a pop up camper and adding the bike rack. We have a Thule rack with a Jayco camper. It does not work at all for this set up. However, the product is excellant quality and delivery was prompt. I would recommend it for some other type of set up but not what I described above. I have to send it back. 218188

Does this not work due to the turning problem with the bikes coming in contact with the trailer or propane tank? I was thinking of getting this but not if that is the problem.

The effectiveness of the Curt Multi-Purpose ball mount # D210 used for both hitch mounted accessories is dependent on the configuration of the trailer, cargo on the trailer, and the hitch mounted accessories. Using this with a bike rack is always interesting and you have to account for the hitch location on the towing vehicle, the configuration of the bikes, and the trailer set up. It is very easy for turning radius to be effected by all of these things. We do have other options such as towing bike racks and trailer mounted bike racks that you might consider. I have provided links to both of these product categories for you to view and see what may work best for your specific application.

There is not enough clearance to use this product with a ball on the bottom and my bike rack mounted to the top. Unfortunately it has just become a dust collector after i scraped it up after attaching it to my truck. 679858

I have been looking for a light up trailer hitch for a long time. So when I saw this one from etrailer I was very happy. I ordered it and it came in few days. I also purchased the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount with 2" Receiver so I could mount the light and still be able to tow with out switching them out. Both Product's are perfect for my needs. Your company is the best and I would definitely recommend Etrailer to others. Thanks for the great service! 137834

Bought this product so that we could use the top hitch for our bike rack, while towing our Jeep behind the motor home with the bottom hitch. It has worked out very well, is a very strong, solid hitch. only one issue, barely worth mentioning, but the fit between the tow bar and the bike rack is tight. However, it does work great and there are no real issues with it-very happy! 756515

  • Dual Hitch Receiver to Clear 6 Inches for the Back of an RV
We do have MaxxTow adapter # MT70070 which measures 6 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the top receiver. If you are needing the dual receiver in order to carry an accessory at the back of your RV while also towing a vehicle behind the RV then there are some options that will work for you such as Roadmaster dual receiver adapter # RM-077-2 (2 inch rise/drop), # RM-077-4 (4 inch rise/drop), # RM-077-6 (6 inch rise/drop), or # RM-077-8 (8 inch rise/drop). • Solution to Allow 2015 Toyota Tundra to Tow Trailer and Carry Motorcycle Carrier
I think I might have a solution you'd like but there isn't a dual hitch adapter that's going to have the capacity needed for the weight of your bike and carrier plus the tongue weight of your trailer. What you could do is install a front hitch on your 2015 Toyota Tundra with the Draw Tite part # 65080 and then use a motorcycle carrier like part # E98873 and you'd be able to still tow your trailer. Since that would be quite a bit of weight on the front suspension I'd also recommend the...

  • What is a Safe Minimum Height for a Cargo Carrier?
A hitch mounted cargo carrier doesn't have a specified height requirement. You are correct that the longer the carrier extends the less ground clearance it will have on an inclined angle like a driveway. Some carriers have a rise integrated into the shank for that very reason like # E98874. This carrier has a 2 inch rise to change the angle. If you will be towing on level ground, a minimum height of 8 inches is enough for the suspension travel, but I personally would shoot for 12 inches...

  • How To Tow a Trailer and Haul a Motorcycle with a 2012 Toyota RAV4
It sounds like you are wanting to carry a motorcycle on the back of your 2012 Toyota RAV4 while also towing a trailer. If that is the case then this is a pretty tall order for your RAV4 but is possible so long as the tongue weight of the trailer, weight of the motorcycle, and weight of the motorcycle carrier do not exceed the tongue weight capacity of your vehicle which is 350 lbs if you have the towing package. In order to mount both the motorcycle carrier and ball mount, the only...

Since the Curt Multipurpose Ball Mount # D210 reduces the weight rating of your trailer hitch by 50% when a bike rack is mounted in it you'd have to verify that 50% of your trailer hitch on your 2018 Chevy Colorado is enough to safely handle the loaded tongue weight (TW) of your trailer plus the weight of your bike rack and bike(s). The Curt Multipurpose hitch adapter part # D210 that you referenced can be used in the way you asked about. It can tow a dolly with a vehicle loaded on it and also carry a scooter carrier in the upper hitch opening. • Towing a Trailer and Carrying Bikes on a Bike Rack at the Same Time
Since you are using the Curt multipurpose ball mount # D210 you will want a bike rack that will allow you to move the cradles. The reason is that when you are carrying bikes and towing a trailer at the same time, the turning radius is reduced and the front of the trailer could make contact with the bikes. With the cradles pushed back, closer to the tow vehicle, it will decrease the chances of that happening (but it still might). You would also want to make sure that the longest bike...

  • How Can I Carry a Bike Rack with a 1-1/4 Inch Shank In a 2 Inch Receiver
I have a solution for you, but because of the much lower tongue weights of 1-1/4" receivers, there won't be a ball mount with receiver up top like the Curt # D210 available. If you just need to reduce your 2" receiver on your 2008 Toyota Highlander to accommodate your bike rack with a 1-1/4" shank you can use the hitch reducer sleeve # HT02. This sleeve installs inside your 2" hitch to allow you to safely carry your bike rack and will work well for you.

If you're using a Draw-Tite or Hidden Hitch that has the smaller, extra hole in the receiver tube next to the hitch pin hole, (see photo) you could use the # 63201 locking hitch pin that would also keep the shank of the # D210 moving around in the receiver tube.

Going over bumps will not increase the tongue weight pressure, but it will give additional torque to your hitch. However, if you use a ball mount like # D210 instead of the dual hitch receiver like # D-192 that capacity reduction does not happen because you won't have two moving parts.
