This hitch is extremely well built. My plans are for farm use pulling various trailers and farm equipment. I also want to thank William who was very helpful because I ordered the wrong hitch the first time and he resolved my mistake and helped with the return and rushed the correct hitch to me. I own a couple of these in different drops and really prefer them over solid mounts. The cushioning does help protect the driveline of the tow vehicle and removes the harshness sometimes related to towing a trailer. Not cheap but well worth it to me.

Great! These are tough but easy on the tow vehicle. Still doing great even after a full year of pulling some fairly heavy loads. Recommended!

I used to to pull an enclosed trailer cross country with everything I own, worked perfectly and gave me a smooth ride, the traffic was another thing lol


Super fast shipping as usual. Have not pulled anything over 5,000 lb yet. I assumed the insert on the draw bar would be bar stock - it's tubular. Will be interesting to see how that does dragging a 14,000 lb trailer to Alaska. If it doesn't egg out, I will be impressed.

I only use cushioned ball mounts as I'm sure that they are less harsh on transmissions, clutches etc. These ball mounts are definitely high quality and the best deal around


Really well built product. I did find it to fit a little tight in my receiver. I had to grind some of the edges off so it fit and could be removed without having to hit it with a hammer. It is a really good product otherwise. It smooths out the trailer really well.

I'm running an F350 King Ranch 4x4 with all terrain tires mounted on the factory wheels. The 10" drop Convert-a-ball mount works perfectly with the Curt 2 5/16 rocker ball. I'm also running the large rear stone guards to protect the 5th wheel and boat from stone damage. That stone guard system mounts to the ball mount and requires a minimum distance of 10 1/2" from the center of the ball hole to the center of the lock pin hole. This ball mount I believe is 11.5" and works perfectly. I am very pleased with this product with it's 8k rating.

I like it. I have a few thousand miles on it by now pulling a 2015 MINI on a uhaul auto transport trailer with a 2020 Tacoma and I think it helps keep a smooth ride. I’ve pulled with it from Phoenix to Seattle and back, and recently from Phoenix to Lewes Delaware. Before my first trip with the hitch I got into a lengthy debate over whether or not I had wasted my money on the entire concept of this hitch or not. The first time I pulled an empty trailer with it, I thought maybe I had fallen for a slick pitch because it wasn’t all too different than any other trip with a trailer bouncing around behind me. I pulled the trailer around my neighborhood on streets that I knew for a few laps around the block, then switched hitches back to my old solid one and did the same route and there was indeed a difference with this hitch. It won’t make the bumps and tugs disappear but it will noticeably mute them. Along all of my tows there have been stretches of road where I have thought to myself I’m glad I have this hitch and wonder how much worse the ride would have been without it. The trailer I use has surge braking and there was a concern that the horizontal movement of the hitch could trigger the brake but I haven’t noticed that to be an issue. I recommend the product but if you don’t buy this hitch, use etrailer for whatever you do buy. THE BEST service, fast shipping, great communication, I appreciate this site so much. Every internet shopping trip starts at etrailer, if they sell what I need I’ll buy it here. I want them to stay around for as long as possible, they remind me of what service and support from a business is supposed be and I’m happy to do what I can to keep them around. The cotter pin was bent. It didn’t seem to be fitting good so I tried to straighten it which broke the tip off, rendering it useless.     At most the tongue weight of a trailer would cause about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sag at the ball mount (give or take a little and different for every vehicle).
