Is Sag Caused by Trailer Tongue Weight Considered When Choosing Ball Mount w/the Right Rise or Drop

Question:

i have a 2016 ford f250. when measuring for drop and hight needed, how do i figure in the sag when tongue weight is added? tongue weight of travel trailer is 470 lb plus battery and propane tanks aprox adds 100 lbs.

At most the tongue weight of a trailer would cause about 1/2 inch to 1 inch of sag at the ball mount (give or take a little and different for every vehicle). But on a 2016 Ford F-250 the suspension is potentially beefy enough to limit the sag to even less than that. The trailer can be off of level one way or the other (high or low) by as much as 1 inch and still be considered level.

For cushioned ball mounts that fit a 2-1/2 inch trailer hitch receiver we have the following options:

# AMSCV-2 with a 3/4 inch rise or 2 inch drop
# AMSCV-4 with a 3 inch rise or 4 inch drop
# AMSCV-6 with a 4-3/4 inch rise or 6 inch drop
