Question:
Team, Im looking to upgrade my Carry-On 5X8G trailer axle to accommodate a larger wheel/tire combo, ideally a 5x5 but that may require an adapter, Im unsure. All I can find is 5x4.5. WIth that said the axle is 71/58. I only see a 72/58 on the site which wouldnt be an issue with a half inch on each side. Anything fit the bill?

Hey Ben, welcome back! Are you trying to match the bolt pattern for vehicle wheels? We do carry 5 on 5 hubs like # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K (hub and drum) or # AKIHUB-550-35-EZ-K (idler hub). However, these fit your standard 3,500 lb axle spindle with # L68149 inner and # L44649 outer bearings. An axle like the # e78GR matches your measurements but it is a 2k axle so it won't work with the hubs.
I have two possible options for your. The first is to contact a company like Dexter and have them make a 3,500 lb axle that matches your hub face and spring center measurement. The second is to use the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # ASR3500S05. This fits any trailer width and also upgrades your suspension. It will work with either of the hubs mentioned above. If you think you need more clearance for the larger tires the # ASR3500S06 is also available with a 4" lift.
