AJ: What's up, everybody It's AJ with Etrailer.com. Today we're going to check out this multi-arm rubber adjuster for your tire chains. Now this is from Glacier Chains. What you're going to do is you're going to put this on your chain that might be kind of loose and not fitting super tight to your tires before you add the adjusters but you can see with the adjusters, nice and tight, I can barely move that chain at all. Let's check them out.So now we're going to remove the adjuster. This one's pretty tight, you do have to pull on it just a little bit to slide it out, which is a good thing.
Now they're removed, you can see what I'm talking about. I can easily pull on this chain, it moves around. You don't want that happening while you're driving on the road.Just so you know, these come in three different sizes, this is the passenger car size, you can also get light truck and heavy truck. So make sure you get the right adjuster for the right chains for the right vehicle. Now I'd like to show you another option that's a rubber adjuster that we offer. There's this one, that's kind of this rubber ring with these hooks that go around it and it's different already because there's no arms and the hooks you can remove too.
So that's one thing that's kind of against it is that these can pop off. And I like that they're attached on this one. You don't have to worry about them ever popping off. So if I accidentally pop this one off or a couple of them and I go to use this at the last minute and it's missing those hooks, I'm out of luck. It's not going to tension these chains and that's not going to help me when I'm driving. Now versus that, this one's altogether and it's got these rubber arms and I've seen them break before but you're not going to put them through as much as we've put them through.
We test fit tire chains all day long some days and so these get a lot of use, more use than you probably would, using it for driving a couple times a year, if that's what you use it for, they're going to hold up just fine. But that's also one of the negatives with this. But I still prefer this style over this style just because it's all together, it's complete. I can throw it in the back of the car and know that all the parts I need are going to be there when I need them.So as you saw, this works very well at getting that tension on these chains that might be loose like this and shouldn't be driving on them. This is going to be that solution that pulls them nice and tight and keeps it all together when you're not using it, that way it's easier to find, throw them on the chains and you get on your way in the snow and ice.Well thanks for hanging out.
I hope this helped.
