These chains are great for giving you extra traction in deep snow. But if you're more likely to see seriously icy conditions, you may want a chain with square or V-bar links that can really bite into the ice for more traction.
If you know your tire size, you may think you won't need to test fit your new snow chains. But there are a lot of variables that can affect whether chains will fit your specific tires, including your tire type, the amount of air pressure in the tire, the amount of tread wear, and the tire manufacturer.
We recommend that you order chains as early in the season as possible to give yourself plenty of time to test fit the chains and reorder if needed. This way, you won't be stuck out in the cold later with snow chains that don't fit.
You can test fit these chains in your garage or driveway, but you'll want to wait until there's snow on the ground to actually drive with them. Likewise, if you're out in the snow and come across bare pavement, you'll want to pull over and remove the chains. These can cause damage to the bare pavement, your garage floor, or your vehicle if they break from the wear of riding on a harsh surface.
Installing tire chains is easy.
1. Lay out the chains on the ground to make sure there are no twists or kinks.
2. Drape the chain over your tires, making sure that the prongs attaching the cross chains to the side chains face away from your sidewalls. Drive forward about half a tire rotation.
3. On the back of the tire, pull the chain tight and hook the ends together. Repeat this on the front of the tire, then clamp the lever to fasten extra chain links and keep them from flapping as you drive.
4. Insert the included tool into the cam and twist to tighten the sidewall chain. Twist as many cams as it takes to get a tight fit.
5. Drive forward 2-3 vehicle lengths and recheck the chains tension. Tighten any loose cams.
If needed, rubber adjusters (sold separately) can be used to get a tight fit. Make sure the hooks face away from your tire so your wheels don't get scratched.

Their low-carbon steel construction makes them durable.2017 Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins. These chains were easy to install and fit solidly. They do not have the cam system so you will need bungee cords. I set up 2 rubber bungees per tire and added a hook in the middle. Works perfect. They fit my 285/65/20s with room to spare. I have not used these in the field yet but I grew up using tires chains and these are no different.
I haven’t needed to use them, but I did do a test fit and they seem very well made. I really like the twist lock tightened as well.
Loaned them to a friend...he used them one time...heavy corrosion very soon after use (forest service road with snow and ice i.e., there was no salt whatsoever).
I own 3 sets, 2 for my Jeep, 1 for my truck. These are a good, well built, and not too fancy. They deliver traction on ice and won’t break the bank.

I'm giving this 3 stars because the product seems like decent quality and they arrived one day early...however, they did not fit my truck. I had to remove 2 rows of links to get them down to proper size. I went back and double checked my order before reviewing this because I have been known to do stupid things in the past. Not this time. My order shows these chains fit a Ram 1500 with my tire size...they don't. Good thing I'm handy and made them fit. Also they don't come with a cam tool (which it does not specify that they do) but a good sized screw driver will work.
These chains are too long to fit the factory 275/60-20 tires on my 2020 Silverado unless you cut 8 inches of chain off. No problem if you own a set of bolt cutters. Secondly they do no safety clear the suspension on the front tires. I will be running them on the back only. Appear to be good quality.
I am very impressed with the great quality of these tire chains. Shipping was very quick. I haven't had to use them yet, but when I do, I'm sure they will do the job!

That is very odd, I have not heard of anyone having corrosion issues with these before. Do you have some pictures of the corrosion?
