Today we're going to review part number RM-98100. This is the Roadmaster second vehicle kit for the Brakemaster braking systems. This will let you easily tow another vehicle without having to install an entirely new Brakemaster supplemental braking system on that vehicle. This kit will have the components to make that second vehicle towable. This is designed to work with the Roadmaster Brakemaster system, part number RM-9060 without the brake away kit, RM-9100 without the break away kit, and RM-9160 without the brake away kit. If you do need the brake away kit, we also sell that separately on our website.
It's listed on this product page as a related product. It's part number RM-8600. This kit will include everything shown here. It includes the wiring, the air line. It includes both the female and the male quick connector. It includes the two snapper pins.
It includes some cable ties for taking up any slack in the wiring, all the installation hardware, and a very nice set of detailed installation instructions to help you hook everything up. The air line length is about 15 feet. Everything here is made in the USA. That should do it for the review on part number RM-98100. We didn't need all the parts but the pieces we did need were critical. The rig is a Jeep JK 2-door with a custom bumper, front frame chop and higher clearance towbar points and we needed to have flexibility to mount the air brake lines. We were also on a short deadline to make the annual trek to Easter Jeep Safari and flat towing behind the coach would increase fuel economy 33% over towing on a trailer. The pieces were all familiar to me as we have this same setup in another rig and I knew they could be relied on to work with our RoadMaster braking system. etrailer got them to us quickly and we fabbed up the needed system in time to get out of town. A year later and it still works well. My only suggestion is a longer lasting rubber cover and possibly one for the interior fitting for use in a dirty/dusty environment. A very minor wish, the system is well thought out otherwise and does the job.

I received everything I needed to convert my 2018 Ford Edge Titanium with active cruise control. The instructions we pretty good for the install of the base plate. The other components were a bit tougher.

This was just the kit I needed. It was easy to install, especially with the very detailed and excellent videos provided by eTrailer, and came complete with everything needed to install in my 2013 CRV. I've used it on numerous trips since install and it's performed flawlessly in conjunction with my Diesel Pusher and it's initial install of Brakemaster System.

I ordered this same item and one other Roadmaster kit from Amazon. They both were missing significant parts so I sent them back and ordered the same part here at etrailer, where I've always had good service.
Once again etrailer came through the package arrived with 100% of the parts that are supposed to be in the kit! How hard is it to just get it right and deliver what is promised? Ask etrailer, because they seem to know what Amazon has yet to figure out...

I installed both the Roadmaster towing kit for a 2000 Silverado Z-71, and this "second vehicle kit". Both were typical Roadmaster high quality and installed easily.

Great kit for a second car. In my case I sold my tow vehicle and purchased another. This kit saved me quite a bit of money over buying a whole new breaking system and having it installed. All parts necessary to install were there and instructions look easy and I will be installing it next weekend. Customer service was excellent, they knew about the product and were very helpful.

The items I ordered which are to complete the setup for my Jeep Toad arrived in a timely manner and were exactly what I needed. I have not had the opportunity to install yet but I don’t anticipate any issues as I have reviewed the instructions. Tammie was great to deal with and was very knowledgeable. For my GMC Terrain I did not connect bracket to panel as the panel is flimsy and weight pulled it down. Instructions are very clear, easy to install.

Flat towing this Jeep with these Roadmaster components resulted in a mileage increase from 6.5mpg to 9.5mpg. Well worth the effort and theyre still holding up a year later and roughly 15,000 miles behind the coach.
