Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

I can’t speak as to the long term durability of them as I sold the trailer. They seemed to do the job though, HOWEVER, the dust caps didn’t fit correctly & that was annoying.

by:

Buying the entire pre-greased hub assembly for my jetski trailer saved me a lot of time compared to just changing out the bearings and races and then having to re-pack them. Ordering was easy, Odelia just needed the bearing number and that was it. She was so helpful! I had to knock off one star because the new dust caps that came with the kit (and are crucial to keeping the water out) would not engage onto the new hub as shipped. I had to take them to the workbench and carefully hammer the leading edge around the entire circumference of the cap to get it concave enough to fit into the hub. At that point, I was finally able to send it the rest of the way in with a rubber mallet

by:

I am sure that if I would have called one of your reps I could have gotten the correct hub. This hub has a spindle depth of about 4" and my spindle is about 3 1/4"...so the spindle nut will not go on. Maybe I missed some thing but if the hub/spindle depth were mentioned I don't think the mistake would have made. I used your new bearings on the old hubs to get me through.

It is a great suggestion to add the depth of the hub to the site. I have requested to have it added to the product page.

by:

Paula was excellent! Made sure the part shipped out the same day since it was a must have item to get the trailer going for people that were from out of town.

by:

Fantastic fast great price great quality top notch communication nothing but positive A1 service at e-trailer

by:

Good price. It had everything in the package that I wanted and needed. I oiled the axle and the hub slid on perfectly. The delivery was quick and on time. The only problem I had was in placing the order. I was looking for the PROCEED TO CHECK OUT. but could not find it immediately. My mistake I guess.

by:

Quick shipment (on Christmas Eve) and well packaged. Intended to use as spare (pre-assembled hub) for trave.

by:

They work as advertised. I have no complaints. I use this trailer to pull two kayaks and have taken it from Oklahoma to Little Rock twice, to Mississippi twice and back and forth to local lakes with no issues.

Still have no issues. Lube a couple times a year, depending on use. I am happy with the purchase!

by:

Great fit on our old trailer. We were worried we'd never find the right hubs for our '95 Haulin' wagon. These slipped right on and we're ready to roll again! Arrived in perfect condition and record time.

by:

I was struggling to find the correct hub kit for my boat trailer because etrailer has a large inventory of products. I decided to call and the salesperson Mellissa found the correct part in minutes and had it shipped to my house in less than 24 hours. It’s is nice to know that etrailer still believes in great customer service and the human element of customer service.

by:

All parts arrived as expected and fit on my trailer as expected. The install video on the website was a great resource for a first time bearing packer and installer, such as myself.

After a year, the hubs and bearings are still working flawlessly. I guess I installed them correctly Excellent product!

by:

I bought these hubs as replacements on a 1992 Coleman tent trailer. Although I purchased them a year ago, they weren't installed until a couple of months ago. My son took the trailer camping in the mountains last month, and his trip went well. I'm very happy with these hubs!

by:

I received both my HUBS yesterday and installed just the LH side unit for now. The LH side Hub was the one where both bearings had come apart for not keeping them "LUBED" and a worn out inner seal. I really thought I was going to have to trash my trailer. On a trip back to the house the HUB had been running on its axel shaft, but "THANK GOD NOT FOR A LONG TIME". I had a little bit of a problem getting the inner bearing to slid on the axel shaft but that was because of the old HUB had marked up the axel shaft and needed a little sanding down for it to slip on. Everything went on as planned and today I'll be taken her for another load of Top Soil. Let me tell U, etrailer has been my source for everything I've needed and the help in ordering the right stuff and prices are "EXCELLENT".

by:

Fast delivery. Product as advertised.

by:

Had to get my 20lb sledge to "tap" it onto straight axle. She sits on there fine now! Cotter pins slightly too large to fit all the way through hole but those should be easy to find. Trailer people very nice but made me take the opposite side hub off and apart to get code numbers on bearings as they could not identify the hub size on my 5x8 TarterTrailer that I bought a few years ago at Home Depot. Home Depot would not help as Tarter no longer makes trailers.

by:

I bougat a pair of trailer hubs front etrailer. The precise measurements on the bearings and seals given on the Web site made it very easy to select the correct part. During installation they fit like a glove. Shipping was prompt. I recommend etrailer for your trailer needs.

by:

Excellent product. This assembly is a great value, I installed it on my seadoo trailer. The only thing that did not fit was the grease seal. The one that comes with the kit was too big, I had to order a smaller size to fit my spindle. I totally missed that when I ordered it. Highly recommend this product! Thanks for the great customer service.

by:

The hub kit came all pre-assembled and greased ready to go. All I had to do was clean off my spindle, put the new hub with bearings on, washer, castle nut and cotter pin and I was done. One of the easiest projects I've done and a very quality product at that!

by:

After installation on my snowmobile trailer, and use for 2 seasons now, the product is still going strong. Good build quality and excellent value, I expect these hubs to last the remaining life of the trailer! I will continue to do business with etrailer. Thank you!

by:

Still working fine

by:

good service. my second order I ordered the wrong size hub. talked to sam on the phone and he figured out what I needed and I reordered and got what I needed. he sent me info on how to return my wrong one and everything went good. I had recently bought a hub and bearings like this from a parts store for $59.00 and this one from e-trailer I think was xxx dollars. very good place to buy.

by:

Great price, quick delivery. Super easy install, 10 minutes with a beer. Glad I bought the pre greased ones.
You gotta really hit the dust caps hard to get them on.
Look great with my new tires and wheels.

by:

Kind of early to review since I just installed them and haven't actually tested the product out yet but seems ok so far, $ for hubs is a greeat price and comparing the hub I took off I can't see much difference

Just a suggestion, go ahead and throw in .20 cents worth of cotter pins to complete the set, would have paid a few dollars more not to have to run to the hardware store for a cotter pin

by:

Great price. Wrong size grease seal for my 1995 fleetwood popup. Upgraded me to 2 day shipping without charging day after I bought it. Will be a repeat customer.

by:

Correct parts arrived very fast, prices are great, customer service second to none. I don't believe I'll be shopping for trailer parts anywhere else. You guys hit it out of the park! Thank you

The Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-2K you referenced is compatible with wheel diameters from 8-inches up to 12-inches. It is not usable with your 13s. • Troubleshooting Replacement Hubs Not Fitting Over Detail K2 Utility Trailer
I believe the Trailer Idler Hub Assembly # AKIHUB-545-2-2K is the correct hub for your Detail K2 Utility Trailer, however it looks like the problem is that the inner cones from the old bearings are stuck to the spindle. Most likely the hub wasn't lubricated quite enough, or they got too hot for some reason, and the excess heat caused these components to lodge into the spindle. When you removed the hub these pieces stayed behind. This is specifically the cone/lip you see on the outer portion...

If the axle of your trailer has a 2,000 lb capacity there is a great chance the part # AKIHUB-545-2-2K will fit and work well as a replacement since this hub fits most axles of the capacity. What you can do to be sure is to pull the bearings out of the hub and get the numbers that are stamped on them. If they are both L44649 this hub will fit. The other way to tell is to measure the diameter of the spindle where the bearing rides. If both bearing surfaces measure 1.06 inch on the spindle...
