Features to know about

Built for Reliable Hauling: 1,250-lb Capacity and DOT-Approved Strength

When you’re pulling weight on the highway or across town, a dependable wheel makes all the difference. The Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel is rated for 1,250 lbs and meets Department of Transportation standards, so it’s ready for heavy loads with confidence. The 12" x 4" rim size pairs strong steel construction with balanced performance for smooth towing at speed.

Long-Term Rust Protection: White Powder Coat over E-Coat Primer

Corrosion doesn’t stand a chance thanks to the white powder coat finish layered over an e-coat primer. This durable coating shields the steel from moisture and road salt, keeping the wheel looking clean and preventing rust season after season.

Straightforward Fitment: 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern with 3.19" Pilot Diameter

Getting the right fit is simple. This wheel uses the common 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, a pilot diameter of 3.19", and a 0 offset so it mounts easily on compatible hubs. The wheel bolt size is 1/2"-20, giving a secure connection you can torque down with confidence.

Dependable Style in a Classic Design: 8-Spoke White Steel Wheel

The timeless 8-spoke layout gives this wheel a clean, functional look that pairs well with any trailer setup. Beyond looks, those spokes add rigidity to the steel structure, helping it stand up to regular towing and rough roads while keeping a balanced ride.

Determining Bolt Pattern

1. Count the lug holes

Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).

Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug

2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.

Center to Center
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"

2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)

Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).

Center to Outside Edge
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

I was looking to match the wheels that I have. They are Dexter wheels made in 1989. Made in USA with a fully welded center. These wheels looked to be the same from the pictures and are made in USA. They are a exact match other than the color and the center is 40 thousands thinner than the Dexter wheel but I do not think that will make any difference. I would recommend these wheels to any one needing replacements. They are way better than the China wheels that have the centers stitch welded not fully welded. I had one of those break the center loose on my 5th wheel

Very nice wheels. Glad they're American made. Heavy duty and perfectly painted. Look good on my utility trailer!

by:

The wheel worked exactly as it should. Perfect fit for our trailer. We purchased it to have a second spare for long trips. It saved the day beside a busy windy highway.

the on site catalog was very easy to use and good details of products. we were able to find just what we needed fast. very fast delivery, and communication with company was a refreshing plus of the company. thank you etrailer.

by:

Product is just as described! Shipping time was faster than quoted! I have recommended this site to not my best friend and to my father who are both in need of new wheel/tire combos.

I will do business with again!

by:

The wheels looked fine, I haven't had them on the highway yet.

Etrailers customer service before the sale was excellent and the FAQs on the site are very helpful. Shipping was really quick too.

I learned a lot about axles, hubs and wheels while rebuilding an old Dilley trailer and converting to haul three 17 foot sea kayaks and camping associated camping gear.

by:

Needed a spare for my SeaDoo trailer. Also got a bracket to mount it on the tongue of the trailer. Etrailer had want I wanted, great service (price and shipping) - cannot wait to get them mounted up and ready to go. High fives all around!

Geat looking rim with new trie on it.

I recently received my order from e-trailer. I ordered a Dexstar wheel, a pair of Kenda tires, a chrome when center cap, lug nuts and screw in studs. I read all the pertinent info supplied as well as check exactly the brands, sizes etc of the parts I was replacing. I was notified by email (from Phyllis) the day following the order placement that their was a shipment delay of the tires, I was supplied with equivalent tire replacements which could have been supplied to keep the order on time or wait a week and get exactly what I originally ordered. I waited and received everything faster then I thought it would have taken. Phyllis kept me updated every couple days on the order progress- so nice! I was a little unsure if the screw in studs would fit but ordered what seemed to be the best match (had to start somewhere & figured I could return if no fit) and studs and lugs fit as stock- exact matches. This was my 2nd order in two years and have had great customer service and better then stock replacement parts, certainly all for a cheaper price then I could ever find in NW Montana! Thank You all at e-trailer!

by:

great quality! i love the fact these are manufactured in the USA!!!

I am 100 percent happy with the tires and rims, they are exactly what I was looking for. In the last year I have purchased 4 new 6 ply bias tires due to the new tires I had purchased the year before blowing out with a load. I purchased the 10 ply radial tires with the new rims for a new look and better reliability. The trailer pulls great and the tires and wheels handle excellent. These are great products that I couldn't find anywhere else. Thanks etrailer.

Its been a year and so couldnt be happier with the tires and rims. The rims have held up excellent. I cant say enough about the tire,I use the trailer to haul my Yamaha Rhino, pallets of floor tile, wood and stone. Before I purchased these tires I was having blowouts every other load, since changing to these havent had one. If you are thinking about purchasing new tires and rims, these are without a doubt an excellent choice. Thanks Randy

  • Recommended Axle With 5 On 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern Idler Hubs And Wheels
I contacted Harbor Freight's tech services line regarding your Haul Master Trailer. Your trailer may have an odd size axle, so the industry standard size parts would not be compatible. Their tech services can't give me the information to help you, so I would need you to pull your hub and give me the bearing number on it for me to tell you if we can change the hubs out for 5 lug or not.

  • Recommended 5.30-12 Tire And Wheel Combo For A John Boat Trailer
Hey Zack, Because of the speed rating you're looking for you'll be limited to the Taskmaster # TA69QR (Silver) or # TA79QR (White) if you have a 4 on 4 wheel bolt pattern. If you have a 5 on 4.5 bolt pattern then you'll need the # TT53012C and would have to pick wheels like the # AM20132 separately and have them mounted. Each of these options has speed rating M (81mph) and would be the highest speed rating we currently offer under the 5.30-12 tire size.

  • Are Kenda Loadstar KR25 or Atturo Brand 145R12 Tires Better
Hey Ruby, thanks for reaching out! I recommend the Kenda Loadstar KR25 over the Atturo brand because the KR25 has a higher speed rating of up to 81 mph, and it's a proven tire brand name. I've been working at etrailer for almost 8 years now and I can honestly say I've never heard of the Atturo brand so either they are really new or they aren't known well enough to be compared to much. Either way, the Kenda KR25 will give you the most peace of mind. We have the KR25 mounted on a 5 lug...

  • Fit of Wheel Mounting Pad on Face of Trailer Hub
Hi, it looks like you are using a hub centric wheel with a lug-centric hub. A hub centric wheel relies on the portion of the hub that extends through the wheel's pilot hole to provide the support. In this instance, it's not super-crucial that the mounting pad of the wheel sits perfectly flat against the hub face. With a lug centric wheel, it's VERY important that the wheel sits perfectly flat. Long story short, I would NOT use that wheel on that hub. For a 12 inch wheel, I'd use something...

I recommend the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire # TT53012C. It's radial construction is best suited for highway travel. The Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20132 can also be purchased with a 3rd tire to give you a spare wheel and tire incase you do get a flat.

  • Replacement 5.3-12 Tires and Wheels to Replace Harbor Freight Trailer Recalled Tires
Since Harbor Freight's site no longer has that trailer, I don't know which bolt pattern you have so I'll give you both options. For your wheels and tires, I recommend the Taskmaster 5.30R12 Radial Trailer Tire - Load Range C Item # TT53012C and then have it mounted at a local shop on a Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20122 if you have a 4 on 4 bolt pattern or a Dexstar Steel Spoke Wheel # AM20132 if you have a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. These tires are rated for 1,050 lbs at 80 psi...

The Americana White 8 x 3-3/4 Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20006 has a 2.81-inch pilot hole, like the galvanized version # AM20008. None of our 8-inch trailer wheels has a 3.19-inch pilot hole. For that size pilot hole you will need to select at least a 12-inch diameter wheel like # AM20132.

  • Trailer Tires or Tire and Wheels to Replace A78-13ST Tires on a ShoreLander Trailer
The modern equivalent of the A78-13ST is ST175/80-13. Since that size will not work for you the only option is to go to a 12 inch tire and wheel. The other places must have only had a limited selection because you can get a 145/80-12 with a capacity as high as 1,520 pounds. If the trailer has a 4 on 4 bolt pattern, see link on how to determine bolt pattern, then you can use tire and wheel combo # AM31208. This is a radial tire on an aluminum wheel so it would be excellent for marine use....

  • Trailer Wheel and Tire for Rockwood Flagstaff Pop Up
The best trailer tire for a 12 inch wheel is going to be the Taskmaster part # TT53012C with a wheel like the Dexstar part # AM20132. This tire doesn't come pre-mounted from us but it has a higher speed rating at 81 mph, a great weight capacity and is a radial. Most tires in the size you have now are limited to 65 mph as the max speed they can go before they get hot and end up failing which is why it's important to go with one that has a higher speed rating.

You will not be able to fit a 10" Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20046 on a 10" Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly # 84546UC3-EZ. When a hub is measured the diameter is measured to the inner braking surface(See image). Wheels are measured to the bead seat area for the tire lip(See Image). Generally a 13" is the smallest you will see recommended as if you are using aluminum wheels which are thicker they may contact the drum. • Will 5.30-12 Tire Fit 12 Rim from Different Tire Size
I have never heard of a 6.00-12 tire but theoretically yes, you can use the same 12" rim for a 5.30-12 size tire like part # AM10066 as the last set of numbers refers to the wheel size that the tire fits. You do need to make sure that your tire is compatible with the width of the wheel as well (which you can find stamped on the inward-facing side of the wheel). There's two primary considerations you'll want to take into account before swapping your existing 8 inch rims for 12 inch rims. The first is the wheel bolt pattern.
