1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Today were going to review part number AM20001. This is the Americana Steel Trailer Wheel in white and this is in the size eight inch by 3-3/4. This wheel is made of a sturdy steel construction. Has a nice white paint finish, which is a powdered coat finish that will help resist corrosion. This is a high quality wheel which will meet the DOT specifications. The few specs on this wheel, the rim dimension is eight inch diameter by 3-3/4 wide.
Basically, when we go to measure that, the diameter is actually not measured end to end, its measured beat sit to bead sit. In other words, where the tire would sit on this wheel, youll measure bead sit to beat sit to get the diameter. If we do bead sit to bead sit, it will be eight inches. To get the width, it will be the same way, we dont measure end to end, edge to edge, we measure bead sit to beat sit again where the tire would sit. Getting this would be 3-3/4 inches.
This wheel would be eight inch diameter by 3-3/4 inches wide. Has a bolt pattern of four on four inches and the way that is measured is first of all, the four means four lugs, as you can see the four lug holes. The four inch pattern would mean that if you drew a circle between all four those lugs, the center of all four those lugs the diameter of that circle would be four inches. The best way to measure the bolt pattern on a wheel that has even number of lugs like in this case four, just go center to center, as you can see four inches. This tire use a wheel bolt size of inch by 20.
The weight capacity on this wheel is 910 pounds. The pilot diameter which is the large hole here in the middle that goes over the hub on your trailer will be 2-1/2 inches. Both trailer wheels arrived promptly. This weekend I mounted the valve stems and tires and put them on the trailer. Would do this again with etrailer.com. Good place to get trailer hardware.
Great Rim after the measure instructions, and it made a perfect fit. I am not sure why they no longer just list the tires that fit rims to make ordering easier. Just measure with the measuring instructions on their page. But this works great and is a very strong rim . Fast service as usual.

I have a question does it matter if the wheel is mounted on the hub with the valve stem in or out? I have friends that I try to get them to buy from you and they don’t only to complain about where they did get their parts and the parts themselves..

Wheels are excellent, well made and DOT approved. Their size is clearly stamped into each wheel and the finish is a gloss white that looks to be heavy/thick and should last for years on trailers, lawn carts and lawn equipment. I'll be using some of these for those applications as well as GoKarts and Minibikes.
Everything was packed well and arrived in perfect condition. Each wheel was isolated from the others and well protected from shipping damage.
Great wheels i used these wheels on my stump grinder they were a perfect fit.
The wheels that i ordered were exactly what i needed to get my troybilt tiller up to speed with new tires, since the original wheels were no longer available for my model i had to make a hub to attach to the axle shaft on the tiller and then bolt the wheels and tires to the hub.

This rim is made of very strong steel and the finish is impeccable. It is smooth on both sides and there are no rough edges anywhere. The white paint held up to the mounting of a new tire and did not scratch. I am very impressed with the quality, fit, and finish of this rim. I mounted the spare tire on my boat trailer as one did not come with the trailer when I purchased it. This is an outstanding product and I highly recommend etrailer.com's products for all trailer needs.
