Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

  • What Is a Tandem Axle Trailer Capacity With 20.5x8.0-10 Wheels and Tires?
The Steel Trailer Wheel # AM20046 is rated for up to 1,650lbs per wheel. As long as you use a Tire # AM1HP56 rated for the same capacity then you would have a total tandem axle trailer capacity of 6,600lbs.

  • 5-Lug Wheel For 20.5 x 8 x 10 Tire
For a 5-lug wheel that fits a 20.5 x 8 x 10 tire, use the Steel Trailer Wheel - 10" x 6" Rim # AM20053 if you have a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern or # AM20046 for a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. If you aren't sure what your bolt pattern is, I have added a link below which tells you how to measure to see what you have.

  • Recommended Trailer Rim for a 205/8.0-10 Load Range C Tire
We have a few trailer wheel options that will work with your 205/8.0-10 LRC tire, but you will want to make sure you verify your wheel bolt pattern first. In that wheel size, you could have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch wheel bolt pattern or a 5 on 5-1/2 inch pattern. I've attached a help article that explains how to check your bolt pattern and I've listed your wheel options below for both bolt patterns 5 on 4-1/2 Galvanized - # AM20048 White - # AM20046 5 on 5-1/2 White - # AM20053 The white painted...

  • Availability Of a Trailer Wheel That Fits a 205/65-10 Tire with 5 on 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern.
Currently we have the Galvanized Wheel # AM20048 and White Powder Coated Wheel # AM20046. Both wheels are 10" diameter and 6" wide with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern. These will accept your 205/65-10 Trailer Tire # AM1HP56. As measuring bolt pattern across a hub is often difficult you can measure between the center of two studs next to each other. On a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern the studs will be 2-5/8" on center.

  • Replacement for 20.5 x 8-10 Tire and 5-Lug Wheel
So you mentioned wheel, though the 20.5 x 8-10 size you mentioned is actually a tire size, which leads me to think you are looking for a replacement wheel and tire of that size. Since that's an older tire size, what you will need is the modern equivalent, a size 205/65-10 tire, along with a wheel that the tire will fit on. We have just 205/65-10 tires, or just the 5-lug 10 inch rim, or a combination of the tire and rim together if that is what you are looking for. Here are the options...

  • Recommended Replacement Wheels For 10" x 8" Wide Trailer Tires With 5 On 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern
I do not have a wheel with these exact measurements. I do have tire and wheel combinations that are 10 inch diameter x 6 inch wide with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. A link to selections available attached. The closest we have is the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with White Wheel Item # AM3H480. It is a bias tire that has maximum capacity of 1,650 lbs at 90 psi. The tire is mounted on wheel Item # AM20046 which is 6 inches wide. I have linked a video of the wheel that shows it...

We have one trailer wheel that matches what you need with the part # AM20046 which is a 10 inch diameter trailer wheel that has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern and is otherwise correct for a tire size of 20.5x8.0-10.

Thank you for the details! Your 20.5x8-10 tire size was replaced by the 205/65-10 tire size so that's what we'll be looking at. We have a few different tire and wheel combinations depending on what kind of load range you're looking for: Load Range B - # AM3H350 (910 lbs at 35 psi) Load Range C - # AM3H390 (1,100 lbs at 50 psi) Load Range E - # AM3H480 (1,650 lbs at 90 psi) That last set of digits "10" indicates the wheel size which is measured from bead seat to bead seat which is likely...

  • Bolt Pattern Options for 10 Inch Diameter Trailer Wheels
I would love to help but there is not really a direct correlation between tire size and bolt pattern. If you have five bolt wheels then you will need to measure from the center of one hole to the edge of the furthest hole which is explained in the attached photo. With that being said, we do not offer any 10" diameter wheels with a 5 on 5" bolt pattern. We currently offer 10" diameter wheels with a 4 on 4" bolt pattern part # AM20041, a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern part # AM20046, and a 5 on...

  • Recommended Trailer Wheel With 3.19 Diameter Hub Bore
I have another option for you, but we do not have a 10" diameter wheel that has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and a pilot hole of 3.19". The two 10" wheels that we offer with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern both have a 2.80" diameter pilot hole, and a 3.19" diameter hub bore is not standard with this size wheel. As long as the center of your hub is 2.80" or smaller you would have no issue using the Steel Trailer Wheel - 10" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - White # AM20046, as trailer wheels center...

This wheel has a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern, so you will need to measure the bolt pattern of your trailer to determine which wheel you will need (see FAQ). The rim width needed for a 20.5 x 8 x 10 inch tire is 6 inches. So you would want the # AM20048 for a galvanized finish wheel or part # AM20046 for a white wheel.

  • Will 10 Inch Trailer Tire Fit 8 Inch Rim
While we don't offer 5.0-10 size trailer tires, I can tell you a 10 inch trailer tire will not fit an 8 inch rim. All trailer tires need their own size rim, and don't fit other sizes; so for example the 205/65-10 Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP56 will only fit a 10 inch rim like # AM20046. I have added a link below to all of our 10 inch tire and wheel options for you if that's something you are looking for.
