Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Average Customer Rating:  4.9 out of 5 stars   (313 Customer Reviews)

White power coated, 10" steel wheel features a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern and meets Department of Transportation standards.

I used this for my spare on a snowmobile trailer that spends all the off season in a garage. After one year, it is rusting around the edges of the lug openings and outer circumference of the rim. I guess for the price, I can live with it. But being a tire that never hits the pavement, I would have thought the finish would have stood up better.

Fit great for my pontoon boat trailer.

My order was placed on line. Shortly after placing it I received a note that it was confirmed then shipped. The product was as expected. Packaging was good. I am very happy with the wheels. I have ordered from Etrailer in the past. It has always been a good source.

The wheels I got are great quality and the shipping was fast.
I had an issue with my order at first but they reached out right away to fix the issue.

The rims were exactly what I was looking for. They're fitment for trailer and tire were perfect. I would recommend to anyone seeking a perfect rim.

Great price and super fast shipping. Great packaging and communication. Won't be installing for several weeks on boat trailer.

Once again does not disappoint! I have bought from this retailer many times over the years, they have many options to choose from, pricing is competitive and shipping is in most cases quick.

Easy ordering, super fast shipping. No issues. Will definitely use in future when needing additional trailer stuff.

Described perfectly and the video was great. The rim shipped fast and arrived on time.

No problems so far after a year of use. Rim is holding up as good as OEM

All items look good and came through in good order except for one item. On one hub the hardware package failed, I found everything in the outer box except the rubber seal on one dust cover. No great loss as I already have dust covers with grease fitting and will not use the dust cover provided.

Looks good, packaged well, came in time.

Great products fast shipping great customer service

  • Does Americana Steel Trailer Wheel Have an Offset
The steel trailer wheel # AM20046 does not have an offset. All of the wheels we have in this size, 10 x 6, with the 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt patter have no offset.

Sounds like you are curious about what size hub/drum would fit behind the Trailer Wheel part # AM20046. The only brake drum that would be small enough is the 7 inch brake assemblies. But the flat surface you are asking about is 7-1/8 inches wide.

  • Smallest Trailer Wheel/Rim that Will Fit Over 10 inch Trailer Hub
The hub # 84546UC3 that you referenced has too large of a diameter to fit under a 10 inch trailer rim like the part # AM20046 that you referenced. The smallest diameter rim that would fit over the # 84546UC3 is 13 inches like the part # AM20232 that has the same 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern as the rim you referenced.

  • Recommendation for Trailer Tire Mounting onto a 10 Inch Trailer Wheel
The # AM20046 will work with your 205/65-10 trailer tire that you have. Trailer tires are tubeless and for this particular wheel you will need to purchase a valve stem. I recommend the Americana Rubber Snap-In Valve Stem # AM20903, this will be just what you need.

  • Can I Replace 8 inch Wheels With 10 inch Wheels if the Bolt Pattern is the Same
When choosing a new wheel size, the things you have to be sure about is that the bolt pattern is compatible with your hubs, that the spindle will fit, and that it will not cause interference with your wheel well/fender.. As long as the bolt pattern on the 10 inch wheel is the same as the bolt pattern on your hub, your setup should work just fine. Typically the pilot diameter will increase with the size of the wheel, but just to make sure that it will fit you will want to make sure that...

  • Recommended Trailer Wheel With 3.19 Diameter Hub Bore
I have another option for you, but we do not have a 10" diameter wheel that has the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern and a pilot hole of 3.19". The two 10" wheels that we offer with the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern both have a 2.80" diameter pilot hole, and a 3.19" diameter hub bore is not standard with this size wheel. As long as the center of your hub is 2.80" or smaller you would have no issue using the Steel Trailer Wheel - 10" x 6" Rim - 5 on 4-1/2 - White # AM20046, as trailer wheels center...

  • Bolt Pattern Options for 10 Inch Diameter Trailer Wheels
I would love to help but there is not really a direct correlation between tire size and bolt pattern. If you have five bolt wheels then you will need to measure from the center of one hole to the edge of the furthest hole which is explained in the attached photo. With that being said, we do not offer any 10" diameter wheels with a 5 on 5" bolt pattern.
