This durable steel D-ring creates an attachment point for tie-down straps and bungee cords wherever you need cargo control. The zinc-plated ring resists corrosion and bolts onto a flat surface. Includes mounting bracket.

Features:

  • Tie-down anchor provides a solid point to secure your cargo with straps or bungee cords
  • Surface-mount design does not require you to cut a hole in your trailer or truck bed
  • D-ring rotates 180-degrees so you can attach straps from multiple angles
  • Zinc-plated steel construction resists corrosion and retains its strength through repeated use
  • Simple, bolt-on installation to flat surface
    • Mounting hardware not included

Specs:

  • Maximum load (break strength): 11,700 lbs
  • Working load limit: 4,000 lbs
  • Ring diameter: 1/2"
  • Internal ring dimensions: 2-3/8" wide x 2-1/2" tall
  • Dimensions: 3-1/2" wide x 3-3/8" tall
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Note: Tie-down anchors must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the anchors being used. For example, if you are using anchors with a WLL of 100 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 400 lbs, then you need at least 4 anchors to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use anchors in pairs.

  • Can Curt D-Ring Tie Down Anchor Be Welded to Aluminum Trailer
I have a solution for you, but it is not easy to weld steel to aluminum. The Curt D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # J-705 is made of raw steel. It will not work well to weld on to your aluminum trailer because of the differences in the melting points of these metals. All of our weld-on D-rings are made of steel. A skilled professional welder may be able to weld the # J-705 to your aluminum trailer. Your best option will be to use a bolt-on D-ring, like the Brophy D-ring Tie Down Anchor # LRB1....

  • Recommended Bolt-On D-Ring for Retaining Ring on Trailer Tongue
For your retaining ring mounts on the trailer tongue, I recommend using the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor - Bolt-On - 2-3/8" Wide - Surface Mount - 4,000 lbs # LRB1. This is the strongest bolt on option we have. Anything stronger would require welding.

  • Do Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchors LRB1 Need Backing Plate
Hi Daniel, A steel backing plate is recommended for the surface mount Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # LRB1. We don't have one specifically for this so you'll have to find it locally at a hardware store, or we have options that do come with backing plates, the Brophy D-Ring Tie-Down Anchor with Backing Plate # DR1S or recessed Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor with Backing Plate # RR5K.

  • Recommended Way to Install Heavy Steel D-Ring Tie Down to Aluminum Floor of Car Hauler
Using a piece of plywood between the aluminum will not hold up as well because the wood will start to weaken and will rot over time. The best way to install the trailer D-Ring Tie Down Mount, part # LRB1, to the aluminum floor in your car hauler would be to mount it through the frame of the trailer if possible or using a steel backing plate would suffice. It would probably be good to use some sort of gasket material between the aluminum and the steel to prevent any oxidation or reaction...

  • Choosing D-Ring Cargo Tie Downs for Toy Hauler Trailer
We offer D-ring tie down products with working load limit (WLL) ratings from 330-lbs, as with the Brophy # SR10-C, up to more than 15,500-lbs, as with the weld-on Curt D-ring # C83780. The Brophy D-ring # RR01-C you referenced has a WLL of 400-lbs, half of what you need to match your other D-ring, if it is indeed rated for 2500-lbs breaking strength. Note that such parts carry two types of ratings, a breaking strength and a working load limit (WLL). Straps and anchors must be selected...

  • Frame Mounted Forged D-Ring Tie Downs on Big Tex 70 Steel Car Trailer
I can absolutely help you and make a recommendation. The floor of your Big Tex 70 car trailer is an 1/8 diamond steel plate. The 1/8 plate will be fine for a tie down point for anything but a car. You need a bracket not to fasten something down tight but to keep your car from moving. The rolling resistance would be too much for an 1/8 plate but sufficient for any type of other loads, like lumber, drywall, trash, pipe etc. You're going to need to drill into the frame to safely secure mounting...

  • High Capacity D-Ring Recommendation for Enclosed Trailer
Your best solution will be the # LRB1. This D-ring anchor has a 4,000 lb working load limit, has mounting holes that are in line and has a continuously welded D-ring. I attached a review video for you to check out as well.

  • Safety Chains and Cargo Tie Downs for 6 x 10-Foot Flat Deck Utility Trailer
Thank you for the photo of your utility trailer that appears to already have safety chains installed near the coupler. Safety chains should be selected based on trailer weight and on the length you need. If your trailer has a 3500-lb-rated axle then chains like 60-inch 5K Curt part # C19749 would provide sufficient capacity and their latching hooks will make for easy attachment. If you prefer shorter chains you might prefer the 27-inch 5K # 2118-605-04. For a weld-on bracket you might...

  • Installing Brophy D-Rings on OSB Trailer Flooring
When used along with a steel backing plate, the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor # LRB1 that you referenced should offer enough support to provide a safe anchor point on the wooden T-Grade OSB flooring on your trailer. With that being said, a better option might be with the Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchor w Backing Plate # RR5K for your application, as it features a larger surface area on the D-Ring mount to better disperse weight and also includes the backing plate for installation. It has...

  • Best Tie-Down Recommendation for a Pine Wood Floor Flatbed Trailer Carrying Motorcycles
I think installing the Recessed Trailer D-Ring, # RR5K, that you have referenced, would be better than # LRB1, because the backing plate is going to help distribute the load from the ring which would be better for your wood decking and make for stronger connection points. If you use this kit with the backing plate an attachment to the frame is not required as the backing plate, which would be underneath the wood floor, would prevent the hardware from pulling out. The only down side to...

  • What Kind of Hardware Should I Use For My Trailer D-Ring Tie Downs?
The Trailer D-Ring Tie Down item # LRB1, will accept bolts no larger than 7/16 inches in diameter so you could go with a 3/8 inch bolt/nut or screw. For your application you can use standard hardware from your local hardware store. I recommend using the same material the D rings are made out of, which is zinc-plated steel, this will keep the d-rings from oxidizing.

  • Can Brophy D-Ring Surface Mount Tie Down Anchor be Used on Wood?
Since space is tight on your trailer, I recommend using the surface-mount Brophy D-Ring Tie Down Anchors, # SR15-C for a ring with a safe working load limit (WLL) of 1,600 lbs or # LRB1 for a ring with a safe WLL of 4,000 lbs. These will save you plenty of space and can bolt right through the wood floor of your trailer, as you can see in the photos I've added. I've also attached some review videos of these D-Rings for you to take a look at.

  • What Size Bolts Should be Used to Mount the Trailer D-Ring Tie Down, # LRB1
I went out to the warehouse to measure the square holes in the Trailer D-Ring Tie Down, # LRB1. According to my measurements it will accept bolts no larger than 7/16 inches in diameter. A 3/8 inch bolt would probably be the most ideal size to use.

  • How to Carry a Motorcycle with a Toyota RAV4
I have a solution for you, but after doing a little research, I found that the tongue weight capacity of the base and sport models of the RAV4 is approximately 150 lbs and the tongue weight capacity of the limited model is approximately 350 lbs. I would not recommend using any hitch mounted motorcycle carrier on a 2006 Toyota RAV4 to carry your 325 lb bike because the vehicle cannot support the weight of the bike and the carrier. I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and unfortunately they do not have a pull rating for the tie-down bracket # CE26214G. However, he did say that because the brackets are 7 gauge steel, 2 inches wide you should have no problems securely tying down a full-sized ATV to your trailer. I have included a link to a video showing the dimensions of the brackets.
