When you’re carrying heavy loads or logging long miles, this tire-and-wheel combo is made to handle it. The Westlake ST235/85R16 radial tire has a 14-ply rating and supports up to 4,410 lbs at 110 psi. Its Load Range G construction and 75-mph speed rating (L) make it solid for highway use. Paired with a 16" x 6" aluminum wheel rated for 4,080 lbs, both components meet DOT, FMVSS, and SAE J1204 standards for the kind of reliability you can count on mile after mile.
This Margay-series aluminum wheel isn’t just about looks—though the glossy black finish and clear-coat protection definitely turn heads. It’s built to last, too. Steel inserts in the lug nut wells prevent wear so the wheel stays secure on the hub without needing constant retightening. The rustproof aluminum construction stands up to moisture and road grime, keeping that sharp finish season after season.

Highway heat and heavy loads can break down weak tires, but this Westlake radial keeps its cool. Double steel belts and double polyester plies strengthen the casing, while a nylon tread-firming belt overlay helps prevent tread separation. The radial design reduces rolling resistance and heat buildup, giving you stable tracking and longer tread life when you’re towing down the interstate or through summer temperatures.

There’s real peace of mind built in here. This assembly includes complimentary roadside assistance for two years—24/7 coverage anywhere in the United States, Canada, or Puerto Rico if you get a flat. The tire also comes with Westlake’s 1-Year No Excuses Guarantee: if it’s damaged within the first year for any reason not covered by warranty, they’ll replace it at no charge and cover a flat labor rate for mounting the replacement.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hello neighbors and friends, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at our Westlake ST235/85R16 radial tire with a 16 inch wheel in a Margay aluminum and it's an eight on 6 1/2 inch lug pattern in a load range G. Now folks, this glossy black wheel and tire assembly here is gonna be great for campers and trailers. And again, it is a ST. So that means it's a special trailer tire and it's only made to be used and intended to be used on things that you're towing, such as your trailer, camper, those kind of things. Now this aluminum wheel is durable, but it's lightweight as well.
And as you can see, it's got a nice glossy black. It does use what they call their eight spoke design, and it has a automotive grade clear coat finish on the front of the wheel that's gonna give you an extra layer of protection. Now the back is still powder coated in that nice glossy black, but it doesn't have that extra clear coat finish on there. Now go into the wheel itself. On the lug nut holes, they have steel inserts and that's gonna help keep the wheel securely in place on the trailer hub.
It's also gonna prevent the holes from wearing down over time, and it's also going to eliminate the need for constant retightening of your lug nuts. Now the tire itself, this Westlake radial tire is constructed with double steel belts and double polyester plies for a long life. The nylon tread firming belt overlays and that also helps prevent tread separation. Now it also has built into it TWI or tread wear indicators. That's gonna make it super easy to measure the tread depth and visually see, so it's kind of hard to tell from your angle probably, but there's little nubs inside of there and if it wears down that far, you'd be able to see those nubs clearer.
And if that height matches the tread height, you know it's getting time for a new tire. Now another thing that's nice about this tread and everything here is that it is a computer generated tread and it's gonna be a great design to help repel water, snow, dirt, debris, that kind of stuff while you're on the road. And because it is a ST tire, special trailer tire, the sidewalls here have extra stability and it's gonna be great for holding up that extra weight on your towables. Now the tire does meet FMW, or FMVSS specifications. It also meets SAE J 1204 standards.
The center cap is sold separately if you need one. It's a 4.9 diameter on that pilot diameter hole there in the center. Now the rim is a 16 by six inch wide rim. The bolt pattern, again is eight on 6 1/2 lug pattern. You're getting that 6 1/2 by measuring center to center directly across from each other on any stud because it's an even lug pattern. Now, as far as a wheel bolt size, you're gonna use either half inch by 20 thread count or a 9/16 by 18 thread count. The wheel capacity is a range of 4,080 pounds. The tire size again is an ST235/85R16. The section width is 9.3 inches wide and the outer diameter overall is 31.7 inches. Now this particular tire is a G range or a 14 ply tire. That means the tire itself is rated at 4,410 pounds at 110 PSI. It has a speed rating of L or 75 miles per hour. Now, as far as a warranty, they've got an amazing five year warranty on the tire, a one year warranty on the wheel. And they also give you what's called a complimentary roadside assistance for two years. So from the time of purchase, you get two years complimentary roadside flat tire service 24/7 anywhere in the US, Canada, or Puerto Rico. Now again, that's from the manufacturer themselves. Folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our look at this nice tire and wheel combo. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

After one year, these wheels and tires still look great! They support the trailer well and keep their pressure. I chose to keep them covered with RV wheel covers when parked. Still very pleased with my purchase.

Glad you like them, Peter! And I agree, they definitely look good on there! ^___^ Sorry we didn't have a better option for the lug nuts, but I'm glad you found some good ones. What are you typically hauling?
