Video Transcript for Ultimate Overview of the Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut

Today we're going to take a look at the Lionshead 1/2 inch by 20 stainless steel cap lug nut. Now this is constructed of a steel lug with a stainless steel outer cap over it for maximum durability and corrosion resistance. This is designed to fit the 1/2 inch wheel bolts with 20 threads per inch. It does have the standard 60 degree tape around this. The overall height on this lug nut, very bottom to the top, is going to be right at 1 1/2 inches tall. It uses a socket size of 3/4 of an inch.

I happened to pull here's a 3/4 inch socket. You can see it fits right on there for installing or removing. That should do it for the review on the Lionshead 1/2 inch by 20 stainless steel cap lug nut.

Still look great!

by:

The only thing I would like to know about these Lugnuts Being stainless is what are the torque specifications

by:

Received product in a timely manner and all elements were in new condition without any defect

by:

Nice replacement for the cheap lug nuts that came on my 2022 RPod. The original lug nuts had some sort of soft cover on them that got scratched and mis-shaped when we took them off and made them basically unusable. Replaced with these and they still look great even after a few times off and on to work on the wheels. Definitely recommend.

Had these on for over a year now and they still look great. Had the wheels off many times and the lug nuts hold up just fine.

by:

Works perfectly

by:

All lug nuts shipped with order and perfect shape. Installed new tires and wheels and torqued lug nuts to 85 ft/lbs as per spec. Looks great

by:

Works well. Now I know only use a 6 sided socket with these. A 12 sided socket will strip and destroy the pretty chrome skin. Stripped vs new in photo.

by:

Awesome looking! Awesome Website! Awesome Company! Kiddos to Matthew who helped me over the phone on which lug nuts to order, for the mag wheels I purchased from etrailer.

by:

Quality products with Quality service

by:

Best service yet

by:

Super fast shipping! Thanks!

by:

All stainless is very good. As they age and are used, the shell can loosen. A surface drive sockets works best. They look great and do not rust on boat trailers.

by:

These are the original lug nuts that came with my Geo Pro and they are great.

by:

Finally found replacement stainless lug nuts for my trailer! Don't need to worry about rusting lug nuts.

by:

Good quality lug nuts.

  • Are The Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nuts LHLR103 Polished?
Hello Tom, thanks for reaching out. The Lionshead Trailer Wheel Lug Nut # LHLR103 are stainless and they do have a shiny polished finish. Not as shiny as chrome, but I think the pictures we have on our site don't quite to them justice. Maybe the lighting was bad the day those pictures were taken. The picture below will show you more accurately what the finish will look like.

  • Why Does Bolt Pattern Matter When Choosing Disc Brakes
The reason that it is important to note the bolt pattern (along with the bearing sizes) is exactly that; to make sure that your current wheels fit properly on the Disc Brake Kit # T4843300. You are correct that a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern is actually the better route to go. It is more common and will be much easier to replace than a 5 on 4-1/4" bolt pattern wheel. As long as your inner bearing is # L68149, your outer bearing is # L44649, and your grease seal has an inner diameter of 1.719"...

  • Recommended Center Cap and Lug Nuts for Viking Series Valhalla Wheel AX02350545BMFL
The Aluminum Viking Series Valhalla Trailer Wheel # AX02350545BMFL that you referenced actually includes the sleek matching center cap (pictured below) and for compatible stainless steel lug nuts the Lionshead # LHLR103 will work perfectly. This will provide you with an extremely sharp setup on your trailer that's also completely resistant to rust and corrosion. I have attached a couple short video reviews that you can check out as well.

  • Recommended Disc Brake Kit and Replacement TieDown Model 70E Actuator for Load Rite Boat Trailer
The Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator # 099-175-20 is a direct replacement for your Tie Down model 70E disc brake actuator with a 7000 lb capacity (Tie Down was bought out by Dexter back in 2017). Although I don't have a way of decoding your VIN, you should be able to call Load Rite and provide them with your VIN - they will be able to tell you exactly what kind of axle is on your trailer. If you can get back to me with your exact axle capacity and wheel bolt pattern, I will be happy...

  • Difference Between the Higher and Lower Priced Trailer Lug Nuts
The more expensive lug nuts like the part # KALN1375S and # LHLR103 are made of stainless steel and the lower priced ones like # AM90049 are chrome plated. Stainless steel does not rust or corrode so it's the best choice. Chrome plated lugs will eventually rust which normally manifests as the sockets stop fitting the lugs properly as the corrosion causes the lugs to "swell" and make them hard to deal with and eventually cause failure. If at all possible the stainless options are the way to go.

Hey Tim, thanks for reaching out! I'd be more than happy to help you! Thanks for that info and we do have a replacement hub and drum for you with inner bearing # 25580 and outer bearing # LM67048, though you are going to need to take one more measurement, and with Digital Caliper # 301-17068 because it needs to be measured down to the thousandth of an inch. So, the correct hub and drum will depend on the size of the grease seal, and you'll need to measure your spindle where the seal rides to get that measurement. - 2.25" Diameter: Dexter Trailer Hub and...

  • Determining Lug Nut Size for 14 Inch Trailer Wheel
For a 14" trailer wheel you're most likely looking at a lug nut that threads onto 1/2"-20 lug bolts such as the Lionshead # LHLR103. With that being said this is going to be more dependent on the hub than the wheel itself so I definitely recommend verifying this. The best way to do this is to simply remove one of the existing nuts and take it up to a local hardware store. They should have various bolts that you can test fit the nut on to determine the thread pitch and diameter it works with.

  • PSI Rating of Westlake Tire on Aluminum Wheel
The tire on the Westlake ST205/75R14 Radial Tire w 14" Condor Aluminum Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 - LR D - Gunmetal # LH37VR has a maximum psi rating of 65, which will allow it to have its full 2,040 lb capacity. In order to replace your tire with the correct one you will want to go off of two things: its size, which should be on the sidewall somewhere on your current tire (like in the accompanying photo), and its capacity. You will want the combined capacity of your tires to match, or ideally...
