I’ve been really impressed with the Maxxis M8008 tires. If you’re looking for a high-quality trailer tire but don’t want to pay top-shelf prices, these are worth a look. Maxxis has a solid reputation, and the M8008s often get compared to the Goodyear Endurance, but they usually cost a bit less, which makes them a good value in my book.

The build quality seems excellent. The sidewalls feel sturdy, and the tread design looks just as well-made as some of the more expensive brands. What stands out most to me is how well they handle heat. Maxxis uses a proprietary tread compound that keeps the tires cooler on long hauls that gives me confidence that they will hold up over time.

Another nice touch is that they come pre-balanced from the factory. It’s a small detail, but it really helps smooth out the ride and cuts down on vibration.

Overall, I’d say the M8008 is a dependable, well-built tire that performs like a premium option without the premium price tag. If you tow often and want something reliable and cost-effective, these are hard to beat.

  • Need a Replacement Tire and Wheel Combo with Dexstar Black Wheel With a kr53 Kenda Karrier Tire
Thanks for reaching out, Nick! I'm not 100% sure what your bolt pattern is so I'll include a few different options. Some of the numbers you gave are OEM number so based off that I THINK your bolt pattern is a 5 on 4-1/2. You will want to double check just to make sure. Kenda Karrier KR53 ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire with 15" black mod wheel (5 on 4-1/2) part # KE23JV Kenda Karrier KR53 ST225/75R15 radial trailer tire with 15" black mod wheel (6 on 5-1/2) part # KE72EV Both of these...

  • Will MXS39FR Tire And Wheel Combo Fit 2017 Big Tex 35SA Single Axle Utility Trailer?
Yes, Troy, that’s right on the money. Your Big Tex 35SA uses a 3,500-lb axle with 5-lug hubs, and this ST205/75R15 Load Range D tire with 5 on 4-1/2 wheel combo # MXS39FR is built exactly for that setup. It’s rated 2,150 lbs at 65 psi, so you’ll have plenty of reserve even with heavy yard loads or a side-by-side onboard. Do you usually keep your trailer parked outside? I can suggest a tire cover size that fits this combo perfectly.

  • 2021 Coachmen Clipper 17BHS Replacement 15" Wheels And Tires For 5 on 4-1/2" Hubs
Absolutely, Jenna, your Clipper’s 3,500-lb axle and 5-on-4-1/2 hubs are a perfect match for the Maxxis ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w/ 15" Black Modular Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # MXS39FR. You’ll bump your tire capacity up to 2,150 lbs per tire at 65 psi, giving a stronger sidewall and cooler highway temps. The radial design also smooths out towing on rougher backroads. Do you camp mostly local, or do you pull it cross-country?

  • 205/75R15 Tires For Tandex Utility Trailer Rated At 7,000lbs
Yes, Mark, a set of four # MXS39FR tires gives you 8,600 lbs total capacity 2,150 lbs × 4, so you’re comfortably above a 7K trailer. Run them at 65 psi cold, and you’re good to go at highway speeds of 87 mph (assuming you're obeying local laws/limits of course) Do you typically haul near max weight or lighter loads?

  • Do I Need To Balance The Maxxis ST205/75R15 Radial Tire & 15" Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 MXS39FR ?
No, Jake. The Maxxis ST205/75R15 Radial Tire w/ 15" Black Modular Wheel - 5 on 4-1/2 # MXS39FR is bead-balanced from the factory, so you already get vibration control without external weights. By adding external weights at a shop, that will likely be too much going on internally and externally, so I'd just stick with one or the other. But these already have the work done, so all you have to do is buy it, install it, and hit the road! No going to a shop and dropping off for balancing and...

  • Are The Maxxis 15" Wheel And Tire Combos Pre-Balanced At The Factory?
Hey Scott, they come bead-balanced from the factory, so you can bolt them on and go. Some trailer wheels and tires don't get balanced at all, which is usually fine, but some people complain about vibrations, so this is one way to combat that right out the factory. What trailer do you have? • Can I Replace Load Range C Tires With Load Range D On 2016 Casita 17' Travel Trailer? 205/75r15
That’s a smart upgrade, Linda. Your Casita uses a 3,500-lb axle with a 5 on 4-1/2 hub pattern, so the # MXS39FR is the correct match, not the # MXS77FR (this one is 225/75R15 with 6 on 5-1/2). The # MXS39FR is the same ST205/75R15 size you have now but steps up to a Load Range D (2,150 lbs at 65 psi) for stronger sidewalls and better highway stability. You’ll notice a smoother ride and less sidewall flex than the original Load Range C tires. How many miles do you typically tow in a season?

  • Replacement Black Wheels And Balanced Tires For 3500lb Axle 5 Lug
You’re set, Danielle, the wheel # MXS39FR is 15 inch x 5 inch with a 5 on 4-1/2 pattern, standard for most 3,500-lb axles. Wheel capacity is 2,200 lbs, and it’s lug-centric with a 3.19 inch pilot. Just use 1/2-20 conical lugs and re-torque after 50 miles. Just make sure the 205/75R15 pre-mounted tire is the size you need. One nice benefit is that it's already balanced with internal beads, so you won't need to worry about excess vibration! Do you already have lug nuts for it and a torque...

  • Which Wheels And Tires Fit A 2018 Forest River Salem 26DBLE Travel Trailer?
Good question, Ron. The # MXS59FR ST235/80R16 Radial Tire w/ 16" Eagle Aluminum Wheel - 8 on 6-1/2 is built for much heavier trailers with 8-lug hubs, so it wouldn’t fit your Salem’s running gear. Your trailer likely uses 3,500-lb axles with a 5 on 4-1/2 pattern (according to my research - I'd verify), so you’ll want something like the # MXS39FR ST205/75R15 with 5 on 4-1/2" lug pattern. Do you happen to know your axle rating from the tag on the beam? That’ll confirm exactly which combo...

  • Can I Upgrade ST205/75R15 Load Range C To Load Range D MXS39FR With Bead Balancing?
It is, Javier. You’ll stay in the same size ST205/75R15 but move up to Load Range D for a stronger casing and 2,150-lb rating at 65 psi. The radial construction of the # MXS39FR and 87-mph speed rating make highway towing smoother, and the wheel comes bead-balanced, so you don’t need stick-on weights. This is a huge benefit! Most tires on trailers don't get balanced at all, but some folks like to take to a shop or add beads for balancing; this is done already so all you have to do is throw...

  • Will Maxxis Tire With Black PowderCoat Wheel MXS39FR Hold Up To Brackish Salt Water?
They’ll work fine, Keisha. The tire in the # MXS39FR is a Maxxis ST radial, and the black modular steel wheel is powder-coated. For frequent dunking, I’d rinse after each launch. Galvanized is still the corrosion king if you’re in salt often, but this steel wheel is a solid all-rounder and is going to hold up just as good as most wheels on the market. Want me to find a galvanized option in case you want to compare looks and cost?
