Features to know about

Reliable Nighttime Identification: Incandescent ID Bar for Wide Trailers

When you’re hauling a wide trailer, having a clear and compliant ID light bar is a must. This Peterson Mini Identification Trailer Light Bar uses three 194 incandescent bulbs under a red lens to mark the rear of trailers over 80" wide. It’s DOT compliant and built for 12V DC systems, giving you the bright, steady illumination needed for safe nighttime visibility and compliance with lighting requirements.

Built to Last: Durable White Steel Base

Rough conditions can take a toll on trailer lights, but this one’s designed to handle it. The powder-coated white steel base resists corrosion and keeps the lights secure. The housing’s solid construction means you get reliable performance over time without worrying about rust or flaking paint from road spray or weather exposure.

Simple Mounting and Wiring: Surface-Mount, Single-Wire Design

Installing this light bar is quick and straightforward. The surface-mount setup lays flat against your trailer, and the single-wire design grounds through the mounting hardware—no extra wires to manage. With 16-1/8" between mounting holes (center to center), it bolts right into place for a clean, factory-style fit.

Easy Maintenance: Replaceable 107R Bulbs

When it’s time to service the lights, you don’t have to replace the whole bar. Each of the three Peterson 107R lights is replaceable (part number 422600 – sold separately), so swapping out a bulb is simple and affordable. That keeps your trailer legal and visible without extra hassle or cost.

Video Transcript for Complete Breakdown of the Peterson Mini Identification Trailer Light Bar

Today we're taking a look at a Peterson Identification Light Bar for trailers. Now this unit contains three red lights as you can see right here on the base. It does come with a bulb for each one so it comes with 3 193 incandescent bulbs that are replaceable. To replace them all you need to do is take a flat blade screwdriver, place it here in the clip, extend the clip out, and that will allow you to actually remove the lens from the base. And then you can remove each light as needed, so if it ever burns out you just take it and it removes right there from the base. You can place in your new one, again, type 193, that's the number printed on the actual bulb, and it just fits back into the housing.

So it's really nice, it's really easy to do, very easy to make your replacement when and if needed. And then the lens just simply pops back into place, that's all there is to it, really nice easy design when it comes to replacing those bulbs. But again it comes with 3 red lights each one does come with a 193 incandescent bulb, so those are included. Those sit on a white steel base, it has that nice white coating on it to resist rust and corrosion, mounts directly to the surface of your trailer so you have these mounting tabs on the end, one over here and one right here. It's a one wire design so this is your power wire and then it grounds through the mounting hardware. It is department of transportation compliant.

I did take a measurement of the overall length, so edge to edge gave us a measurement of 16 and 1/2 inches long. And then measuring edge to edge go in this direction it's about 1 and 1/16 inches, and the overall depth that's from the outermost point of the lens to the back of it, right here, back of the unit is about 1 and 7/16 of an inch to an inch and a 1/2. And then our mount holes on this unit are separated on center by 16 and 1/8 inches. We're going to go and hook it up to power that way you can see what it looks like with some power running to it. We'll also turn off our overhead lights so you can see in a low light setting. So you can see here that it sends out a nice consistent signal, again, this contains three incandescent bulbs and it has the red lens on it, so that's three red lights.

And this unit functions as an identification light bar for your trailer. That's going to do it for today's look at the Peterson Identification Light Bar for trailers.

Excellent. Bought a 30-year-old livestock trailer and replaced all the lights and added battery backup for the electric brakes. Did not want to convert to LED. As good as new.

May I ask why you don't want to switch to LEDS? LED lights last much longer compared to incandescent because they use very little power so they don't heat up. They also are much brighter compared to incandescent lights so your trailer is easier to see at night! That sounds like a win win to me. If you ever decide to make the switch I have added the link to our LED light bar options.

Everything was fine

This was an exact replacement for the light bar on my wife's horse trailer. It looks nice and was easy to install. The problem that I have with it is that I wish it were made stronger. The metal is thin and flexes quite a bit. Also, the material holding the light covers in place is plastic and the old light bar had to be replaced because the plastic got old and brittle and fell apart. I would spend more money for one that was built tougher.

by:

@Leonard I'm really curious now how that would happen. Hopefully the light was just lying on the ground as opposed to a rogue tractor blade that jumped up and damaged the light!

by:

The exact part that I need and it was the exact part I ordered.
Works great !

Exact replacement. Perfect.

The Peterson trailer marker light bar is excellent quality and easily installed with drilling two holes and using self tapping metal screws (not included. I had attempted to replace the bar light covers on the previous rear marker ligh bar, (not from Peterson) but although it was only a couple of years old and the Peterson covers fit, the plastic snap in tabs were so stiff and brittle that they snapped off easily. That’s something you might consider. I could have super glued everything together and remounted the old one but the new light bar was economical and more cosmetic so I just replaced the whole setup. Altogether a cheaper and more time efficient solution. Thanks to Peterson for the excellent repair parts.ETrailer was my best resource for the parts and the parts were economical. Communication was excellent. The parts were well packaged for shipping and shipped quickly. I was contacted by email right after the delivery to verify everything went well. Thanks to ETrailer for a smooth and easy transaction plus delivery.
